Recently built large custom log home and cabin just 10 minutes from Winter Park ski area in sought after Sunset Ridge subdivision. Close enough to the slopes and far enough away to enjoy the seclusion in the mountains. Our home was built by hand with your comfort in mind! Feel the cozy warmth on your feet with our in floor heating and settle in with a roaring fire in our great room after a day on the slopes. Relax and rest the muscles in our spacious hot tub as well!
Wired for sound throughout the home, perfect for watching movies or listening to your iPod. Blue Ray disc and Playstation 3 gaming system is available downstairs. Enjoy 2 master bedrooms upstairs with king-size beds and a jetted tub and jetted shower respectively. A king and queen-size bedrooms are downstairs and a queen bedroom and kids bunk bed area on the main floor!
Perfect for family vacations with kids of all ages. Winter activities range from snowshoeing and cross country skiing on a trail in our subdivision or world class cross country skiing at Devil's Thumb Ranch is literally 2 minutes away. A tubing hill is great fun for kids and adults of all ages just minutes away in Fraser and of course, Winter Park/Mary Jane resort and Sol Vista resort are minutes away.
Summer Fun is endless with Gold Medal trout fishing streams nearby, world class mountain biking trails and hiking trails in Fraser Valley not to mention sailing and ski boats at Grand Lake and Lake Granby. If you're into golf, choose from over 4 courses in the valley!

Year Purchased: 2008
We are two brothers who moved to Colorado from Iowa over 12 years ago. Together with our wives, we decided to look for some land near ski resorts in summer of 2006 and designed, built and decorated it ourselves over the next 2 years. We hope you enjoy the rustic design with modern conveniences.
Why the Owner Chose Tabernash
We knew we wanted a place near a ski resort and considered Summit County areas. However, we fell in love with Winter Park and its world class ski resort and stunning Fraser Valley, beautiful in winter and summer. Activities of any kind and season can be found within the valley! Travel from Denver is only an hour and a half away, less time spent on I-70 madness! Sunset Ridge has convenient access, well maintained/plowed roads & wonderful well kept forest.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Our home can easily accommodate multiple families. Our open design allows for a real sense of community but you can also enjoy the loft, great room or basement in privacy if you like! (Sometimes it's nice to send the kids in the basement to play or watch a movie!) During warmer days and nights you can relax on our expansive deck, hear the wildlife, especially the bugeling elk and see stars fill the sky.

we recently stayed at this cabin with friends and it was AMAZING! Homey meets luxury. Huge! We lost count of the rooms when we first got there...great location. Very relaxing. You won't be disappointed.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with my family! It was everything we hoped it would be. It very comfortably slept our 14 family members. Everything was perfect and we could not have asked for a more magical Christmas. It feels so peaceful and far away but yet is SO close to everything you could want to do. Devils Thumb Ranch - a perfect Getaway

We rented this cabin during my wedding week at Devils Thumb Ranch. Although, not directly associated with the Ranch - we found this privately owned cabin very convenient for my extended family to stay. It was nice having everyone stay together, something we have not done in years. The kitchen was large enough to prepare a few meals without feeling like you were on top of everyone that was helping. And it was great relaxing in the living room around the large fire place. The description was very accurate in the proximity to DTR as most of the wedding activities were held there. We will definitely recommend this place for a perfect family retreat!

Incredible custom cabin w/ tons of amenities and all the space you would ever need. Awesome kitchen for preparing meals, duel modern master suites to accommodate multiple families, great location, super clean and hudge finished basement for mass recreating. It's as good as it looks, Throw in a great location and you've got an A+. Highly recommended. We would definitely go back.

If you're looking for a place for your ski vacation you'd be crazy if you didn't go here at least once. Our only complaint was that it snowed too much! What an awesome time and the accommodations were great for a large group. The "cabin's" layout was perfect for our mixed group of friends, some with children & some without. So many great memories...thank you!

I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one is truly amazing. The spacious house is outfitted with high end amenities (linens, gourmet kitchen, children's activities, hot tub). There was more than enough room for everyone and we will definitely be back!

We stayed at this amazing home for a wedding taking place at Devil's Thumb - it was PERFECT. We were close enough to join in wedding events and yet had our own lovely, peaceful, and gorgeous space to come back to and relax. The property is literally 2 miles from the ranch (we walked it several times) If you have an event there I don't know why ANYONE would want to stay anywhere but at this house! The owners were incredibly accommodating and their attention to detail and deep love for their home is obvious throughout every corner of this fabulous house. We arrived and were stunned by how much more incredible it was than the photos. It is beautifully appointed and yet not pretentious or overly grandiose. The decor is something out of a Pottery Barn ad with surrondings out of Sunset magazine and yet so comforable and cozy that you feel instantly as though you are visiting the mountain house a close friend (with extraordinarily good taste!). Best of all is that this is a family home where kids of all ages would instantly feel welcome, relaxed and at home. While we enjoyed living in the lap of luxury for the week we stayed there, we never felt like we had to hover over the kids for fear that some precious sculpture might get destroyed. The house is just made for families wanting a luxurious and yet comfortably understated escape. It easily sleeps several families - we had 2 families with 3 small children and there was definitely enough room for twice that many of us. I can't say enough great things about our experience - if you stay somewhere else while visiting Devil's Thumb, particularly if you have a group or family gathering, you are crazy! Thank you so much for a trip that I hope we are able to do again soon!

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this cabin. It is located in a beatiful mountain neighborhood with other high end cabins. The cabin construction and ambiance is top notch and definitely createst the cozy mountain experience. The property is also nicely setup as well with an incredible firepit. The deck is quite large with nice mountain views as well.

We have stayed at this cabin twice now and would return tomorrow if we could. It is spacious, clean, and brillantly designed. It provides all the ammenities needed to stay short or long term. We have a toddler, and he was very busy everyday exploring nature and testing out all the toys. A happy child = happy parents!

I am the concierge at David's house and love the look and feel of the home every time I enter. There is so much room for everything! Large families, corporate gatherings and retreats, wedding-rehearsal dinner/events; you name it, it seems to fit. With all the bedrooms and now the hot tub, it truly feels like a mountain getaway! Wildlife can be spotted grazing in the yard and the views are spectacular. Just a quick 3 minute drive to Devil's Thumb Ranch & Resort for nordic skiing, horseback riding, spa treatments! Wild Horse Inn is just around the corner (literally). All the comforts of home plus!
