Recent Blue River reviews

  • Lives up to all the previous accolades!

"What can I say, Cold Water Creek Lodge exceeded my expectations which were set pretty high based on all previous comments. The location of the lodge beneath Quandary Peak out the front door and viewed from the Great Room and the Blue River out the back door with mountains in the background is just perfect. I love opening the window in the kitchen, which by the way is fully equipped and love the dual dish washers, to listen to the river rushing by. The Ronchetti's really did a phenomenal job in picking the location, and building such an inviting and warm lodge. The only recommendations I would make is upgrading the speakers in the Great Room for the stereo. I am a bit of an audiophile so take that into consideration, but they could be replaced. We also never got the outdoor backyard speakers to work? Not a big deal. The only other negative comment came from one of our guests who slept on the pull out bed in the Game Room and commented that is was very uncomfortable. Otherwise, we had a great time at the lodge, explored the McCullough Gulch trail, fished the Blue, and just had a wonderful time. I know my brother is interested in bringing the family during Winter and has expressed interest in staying at Cold Water Creek as well! Wonderful job you guys and can't wait to return sometime in the future. I highly recommend this lodge!"

  • Very Relaxing

"We really enjoyed our stay at Moose Lodge. Even though it rained every day we still had a great time. Would defiantly recommend it. I think for skiing this place would be an excellent location. The beds were very comfortable and the place was pretty clean. Only negative comment is a lot of the furniture is worn out and old. We were not able to use the dinning room table because it was broken. The kitchen was very clean and in excellent condition. It was stocked well with utensils, pots & pans, dishes and other items. The deck and back yard are very relaxing and it is nice to sit outside on the deck when it was not raining. We brought our own chairs and lounge chairs for the deck, highly recommend that. The yard could use a little maintenance, everything was overgrown. It was very secluded. Creek runs about 12 feet off the deck. The yard was fenced in so the dogs were able to roam around. The two car garage was a nice item to have with all the rain. It gave us a place to stage out gear for the days activities, biking, climbing 14ers, lake hikes, rock climbing, ect. Really Great MTN biking trails within a few 100' of the house. Being on the south side of Breckenridge it was a lot less crowded there and easier to get to town and back. The trail head for Mt Quandary was only 10 minutes away. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Moose Lodge and would recommend it. Out side of some minor upkeep the place was in great condition, clean and comfortable."

  • Beautiful Lodge, Amazing Location (5 STAR).

"Beautiful lodge located just 10 minutes from Breckenridge, CO downtown. Lodge was quite comfortable with all necessary amenities provided. The only thing that we had a problem was that we had gone early September and the lodge became really hot during the afternoon. The property owner was very professional with all instruction clearly given. The lodge was really clean, up to the expectation. The view was beautiful with an amazing view of the Rockies. I would certainly recommend this home to others."

  • Outstanding Property and Great Owners

"This property is one of the best we've stayed in. We had 4 adults and 4 children under 6 years of age. House was well kept, tons of amenities, great location, and had tons of space. We loved the hot tub, teepee, and fire pit, along with being only 10 minutes from Breckenridge. Chris was flexible and really easy to work with. Book without hesitation, thanks for a great stay Chris!"
