We invite you to come and enjoy our beautiful Orcas Island vacation home. Our home was completed in 2006 and is located at the end of a dead-end, private road. There is only 1 house next to ours, but totally private and separate, the other side of us is wilderness. The house is built on a steep rock hillside and offers unrestricted views of the water and the best sunsets.

You CANNOT access the water from our home, but you are only about a 2 minute drive to several beaches and swimming areas

DOWNSTAIRS: All bedrooms are located downstairs, full bath and bonus/theater room. Two of the three bdrms (the master and queen bdrms) have their own glass patio doors leading to the lower deck areas with the same incredible views! You will be able to view the water when you wake up, while lying in bed. (PLEASE NOTE: the queen bdrm with the patio door is broke and CANNOT be opened any more. This cannot be fixed). All rooms are downstairs and have their own private doors to the hallway. The third bdrm is part of the bonus room, as it is the entire length of the house. In this 'bonus room' , one end is the theater room, the middle is the bdrm portion with two regular queen size beds, and the other end is our version of a workout room with a weight bench, a couple of weights, one eliptial and 2 row machines. There is also a deep freeze for lots of food storage!! It is a huge room! Kids like to 'camp out' in this room. In this bonus room we also store two queen, high-rise aero beds w/electric pumps and two sleeping bags - if needed. Lots of blankets and pillows.

The only full bathroom is downstairs and independent of all rooms (has full size tub w/shower).

UPSTAIRS: Living room, utilitity, kitchen, half bath, office. Upstairs living area also has a glass patio door with fantastic water views from the upper deck. There is a small office in which there are two small desks in case you bring your laptop. There is also a printer that can take your camera's memory card and print and/or download to your computer to email to your friends and family immediately. FULLY equiped kitchen. Full size washer/dryer (soap etc not included). We have a crab pot cage at the house for your use, so if you rent a boat - take it to go crabbing. We have a crab pot at the house to cook your freshly caught crab as well.

CLOSE TO EVERYTHING:
We are approximately 5.8 miles (10 mins) from downtown Eastsound (where all the shopping is located); 20 minutes from the ferry docks; and just around the corner from the most popular spots – Moran State Park (site seeing, hiking, picnicing, etc); Cascade Park (about a 2 minute drive from our house - swimming, water rentals, hiking, picnicing, etc.); Rosario Marina (1 mile from our house - great for watching boats and water planes land and take off, spa, restaurant, etc); and the ever popular restaurant Inn at Ship Bay.

So, if you enjoy wildlife, peace and quite with incredible scenery and sunsets, then you will truly enjoy our home. Guaranteed a great sunset every night, unless Mother Nature clouds the skies, and sometimes -- even then. We look forward to sharing our home with you.

FIRST-COME/FIRST-SERVE: We send out rental applications everyday for the same desired rental dates. So, to be fair, the first person to send theirs back will be in line for approval FIRST. Once approved, you will receive via email an approval letter to sign and return along with a credit card form. Pending your desired rental dates, you will be allowed only two business days to return both forms, in which your deposit and/or full payment will be charged on the card you provided. After two business days, the next rental application in line will receive its change to grab the dates and rates. Rates are subject to change without notice.

NOTICE: ALL RATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. NO DATES OR RATES ARE GUARANTEED UNTIL REQUIRED DEPOSIT AND/OR FULL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED AND BOTH THE APPROVAL LETTER AND CC AUTHORIZATION FORM ARE COMPLETED AND RETURNED!!!! Renters MUST be 25 yrs or older. The rates you see DO NOT include, the $200 refundable deposit, $180 cleaning/inspection fee, taxes, or any additional fees that may apply (i.e., more than 4 adults, credit card processing fees, etc.). Background checks will be made and upon approval, a down payment of 50% of the total rental cost will be required immediately to hold your dates AND at the current rates.

NO SMOKING ALLOWED anywhere on or around the premises!!! Also, we are not interested in trades, but thank you.

    • Off Street Parking : Circular, turn around drive way. Very small, can hold two cars or maybe two SUVs. An additional vehicle may park below the circular drive near our neighbors, so long as you are not blocking them.
    • Wood Fireplace : Wood stove fireplace. Shown in picture in the livingroom. Enjoy a cozy inside fire with a great view REGARDLESS of weather condition. It is always cozy.
    • Wood Stove : A great outdoor firepit on the upper deck. Perfect for sitting outside with the great firewood aroma while watching the beautiful sunsets.
  • Beds
    • King Bed : Considered Bdroom 1 (master bdrm). Private with its own glass patio doors leading to the downstairs deck -- all water view.
    • Queen Bed (3) : Considered Bdrm 2. Private with its own glass patio doors leading to the downstaris deck - same deck the masterbdrm connectes to -- all water view as well. Bdrm 3 (aka the bonus/theater room) has TWO additional regular queen sz beds, as well as two queen high-rise electric pump aero bed and two sleeping bags. Approx a 900 sq ft room, lots of sleeping space (kids love it). Has a private door to the hallway and a back door that leads to the same lower deck.

    • Waterfront, not Lake/Oceanfront. Ask for details : The pictures do not do the view justice, as most other places are blocked with trees. This house's view is breath taking.

    • Free Long Distance : Free for calls within the US ONLY
    • WiFi (Wireless Internet) : High speed internet connection for laptops and/or online games. MUST SPECIFY YOU WANT IT TURNED ON. No additional cost.

Good New Years Poor Service

We've stayed at many vacation rentals and own one ourselves, so we have ample experience in evaluating homes. Overall the house was not a disappointment. It has a beautiful view and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The main issue we have is with the expectation of the owners to remove all trash from the premises upon departure. We were never made aware that this was part of the check out list until we were leaving. It says to remove all trash from the premises and either take it with you or leave it in the many dumpsters in the the town of Eastsound 10 min. Away. We were not comfortable dumping our trash in someone else's dumpster. So we were charged a $35 removal fee out of our deposit. The owner said, "I know the dump was closed on New Years, but someone has to pay for it.". All in all it's a good home for the money, we just want to forewarn future guests.

Owner response:Please note that ALL DEPARTURE instructions are VERY clear in the guest book, on the fridge, etc. We have never had a problem with renters on this. Please also note that the 'dump' is referring to the island dump where anyone can dump trash on their open days, but keep in mind they make you pay to dump it too. Lastly, we NEVER made that statment that the dump was closed on New Years and 'someone' has to pay, or would we. We simply wanted to state why we held a small portion back from a refundable deposit -- to reimburse the person that had to take care of it. Thank you all you renters and God Bless!!

Practically PERFECT . . . we didn't want to leave!

We spent 4 nights at this house in July, 2011. It was wonderful! Quiet, spacious, well-equipped, clean. Seriously, the photos don't do it justice. We had a great time and can't wait to go back. My daughter was trying to figure out how we could just move in and stay! :) Thank you for opening your beautiful home - it was a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation. My son was able to feed a doe off the porch - a highlight for him - she didn't want anything to do with the rest of us, though. :) The only (teeny tiny) complaints I have is that it would be nice to have a little more lighting options in the bedrooms. One room only had the overhead light - so, you can't turn it off from the bed (we like to read before we go to sleep & the BIG room only had a big flourescent light (I know you said you were doing some renovations - maybe that's why we got such a good rate). Also, I recommend you add mattress pads on the beds - to me, that just feels cleaner to know there is another layer between the sheets and the mattress.

Debbie, Thank you so much for opening your home to us. The view was spectacular and the location was perfect. We had no idea the house was so close to the State Park! We had a wonderful time and the kids loved feeding the deer and watching movies in the theater room.

Debbie, Just wanted to let you know that we had a terrific time at your house this weekend. The house is absolutely beautiful and we had great weather for this time of year. What a terrific spot. Me and my family spent over a week in this beautiful home and had a great time. The kids loved feeding the deer and there is so much to do. Though this property is not on a beach, it doesn't need to be. There are beaches everywhere within 5 to 10 mins drive. Moran State Park is the best and you are very close to it from here. The best are the nightly sunsets!! This house has to have the best view in all of Orcas. Thanks to the Grovers for allowing us to stay there! We will be back!
