LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! I just posted a video to give you an idea of the proximity to the ski run. The video was taken from our front window and shows our 4 year old granddaughter coming down the main Village ski run on Monday. It moves a bit slow (everyone was moving a bit slow in the deep fresh snow) but see it through and you will notice how we can see up the Village run and then down to the gondola and the Village. There is virtually noone else on the run because, since we are located right on the hill, we are often among the first on the mountain. We are enjoying the condo ourselves this week and having a marvelous time. (posted February 11, 2009)
Completely remodeled and the closest 2 bedroom condo to the Village ski run. If the skiers coming down the village run failed to turn they would run right into our building. Move in and you won’t need your car again until it’s time to go home. Northstar Village is only steps away and has everything you will need for a wonderful winter or summer vacation. All rooms are small but well appointed with beautiful finishes and furnishings and everything you could need or want. Complete with down comforters and pillows.
Beautiful stone, natural gas, fireplace. Slab granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, bar seating for 6 and a kitchen that is fully equipped for gourmet cooking and dining. 48” flat screen TV with Bose surround sound will entertain you. Also a small “library” of DVD’s, CD’s, books, games and puzzles. There is a flat screen TV with built-in DVD player in the upstairs bedroom/bathroom and walk-in closet suite as well. This is a top floor unit which allows panoramic views and no one above you.
View straight out the living room window is pine trees and snow. To the right you look up the Village Ski Run and to the left you can see the gondola house (otherwise known as “One Village Place”) in the Northstar Village. The “Village Express” chair lift goes right past our window – you can wave to the skiers as they go by or tilt the shades and have all the privacy you want. Looking out the entry end of the condo. you see the gondola passing by. Pictures attached.
Enjoy the excitement of being right on the ski slope and watching the skiers (when you’re not on the hill yourself) during the day. There is the special feeling of being on the hill when you wake up in the morning and then again in the evening when all is still with not a skier in sight. You will experience that stillness and quiet of having the woods and the snow all to yourself. Speaking of stillness and quiet, there is the occasional grooming machine going by in the night or those times when they are making snow during the night and you will hear them. We think of it as the beautiful sounds of our friends out there preparing the slopes to perfection for our wonderful day of skiing tomorrow.
Northstar also has a “Nordic Center” and “warming huts” for snow shoeing, cross country skiing and Nordic skating.
For your convenience, locker #36 on the 1st floor of our building may be used to store your skies, snowboards and poles. Your unit key can be used to access this locker.
Summer time fun includes horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking where the lift takes you up and you ride down, Championship golf and driving range and swimming. Northstar’s tennis center holds national tennis clinics. Nearby: Shakespeare festival on Lake Tahoe, Boating on Lake Tahoe, “Woodies” festival with hundreds of beautiful old Criss Craft and Century type wood boats that have been restored ………..much, much more.
The original condos, as is the case with many mountain homes, do not have central air cooling – they do have central heat. We have installed top-of-the-line Casablanca ceiling fans in each room to circulate the mountain breezes in the summer time.
You will have access to the Northstar Recreation center during your stay which includes 3 year-round spas (hot tubs), large family swimming pool and toddler pool open in the summer, lap pool open year-round, full gym equipment including free weights, saunas, showers, summer time snack bars, year-round game room (with pool, ping pong, air hockey, arcade games), summer time grass and children’s play area, picnic tables and barbeques. As of fall, 2010 the Recreation Center charges $2.00/person/day on admission.
In the condo. you will find our welcome binder listing many great activities and resources as well as directing you to our local concierge service. The condo. is equipped with carbon monoxide monitors and smoke detectors as well as folding emergency fire ladder for upstairs fire protection.
The on-demand hot water heater means you can take that shower for as long as you want and the next person still has all of the hot water he/she wants as well.

We have loved Northstar for over 30 years. We taught our children to ski here and are now teaching our grand children to ski here. Northstar is the most family friendly resort ever. Winter and Summer!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Unique Benefits of our Ski Trails condo are: proximity to the lift and slopes, top floor with vaulted ceilings, large flat screen TV with Bose surround sound and the great lighting that we built in so that we can play games, do jigsaw puzzles and read any time we want to. All lighting is on dimmers so that we can set any mood we want from romantic to party! You can park more than one car in our parking lot! This is a great place to be with children since you just step out the door and ski down to the lift. No "shlepping" everyone to the bus or car or even just walking through the village to the gondola. Just ski down.
Owner's Map of Northstar
Jim grew up in Southern California. Kathy grew up in Northern California. In 1978 when our children were two and three years old Kathy's parents (living in Santa Rosa) "kidnapped" the children for some fun at Northstar. The next year we all went and have been going to Northstar ever since. In the summer we call it our family summer camp. We purchased our first condo on the Ski Trails in 1993 and our second in the Original Village in 1997. This year, spring of 2010, we were fortunate to acquire our New Village Condo. We love hosting guests and enjoy trying to make their stays memorable. We want each of them to love Northstar as much as we do.

Our family of 5 stayed 4 nights at the Condo and found it to be exactly as decribed on the website and by reviewers. The Condo isn't massive, but the space has been well utilised so we fit no problem. The ski in ski out location was fantastic, and despite the lack of snow we still had a great time. Located a very short walk to the village and an even shorter ski to the Gondola. Would defintiely recommend to any family looking for this sort of accommodation, and we would have no hesitation going back. Kathy is very hospitable and eager to help make your stay enjoyable.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We absolutely loved staying at this condo! The location is unbeatable! If you are visiting during ski season there is no better location than this condo. We stayed for a week in September, and were close to hiking trails and biking trails. The Truckee river is close by and beautiful Lake Tahoe is also a short car ride away. We were able to kayak on the lake, take numerous 'kid friendly' hikes and bike rides both along the river and near the lake. The Village at Northstar with all the shops and restaurants is just a few minutes walk away. The condo itself is absolutely gorgeous! It is cozy and rustic and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are large and fully upgraded. The entryway with the big 'cubby' dresser, long bench, and coat hooks was beyond helpful in keeping all our things dry and organized...it made getting out of the house in the morning a breeze and getting home with tons of gear painless and messless. The view from the window is sooooooo fun! We watched mountain bikers fly down the hill and watching skiers and snowboarders would be amazing as well. Definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed in Lake Tahoe/Truckee. We can't wait to stay here again!

What you see is what you get -- Beautiful! Gorgeous condo has been tastefully remodeled and decorated. Thought and foresight was put into many details giving an end result of fantastic. Great location gives easy access to the Village and Swimming Pool. The kids loved the personal touch of having their names on the baskets upon arrival. Kathy made the process of renting smooth and easy. We will definitely be back.

This condo is exactly as shown in the pictures. It's clean, updated and has everything you would need. Even the towels are white and perfectly clean. We were super happy with our stay here. Kathy was very easy to work with. The walk to the village or pool/rec center is less than 5 minutes. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with us!

This is a great and comfy condo located within walking distance of the Northstar Village. Perfect for a family of four. We enjoyed strolling to the village in the evenings for dinner and dessert. Especially loved the pizza at Rubicon! While at Northstar our family also enjoyed mountain biking, golf, and of course time at Lake Tahoe jet skiing and paddle boarding, which is just a short drive from the condo. Kathy was great and easy to work with. She helped get our reservation set up with very short notice on our behalf. We would absolutely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

The Dexter's lovely Ski Trails condo served our every need. Furniture is comfortable and attractive, towels and bedding are plush, kitchen appliances/gadgets and dishes are plentiful and new. We were extremely comfortable and enjoyed our week-long vacation very much.

Kathy, we had a great time last weekend at your place. The location was perfect. The ski-in/ski-out ability made it really great for our young children. I'm usually exhausted by the time we are on the slope, but this was super easy and allowed us to come and go as needed. You guys did an awesome job on the remodel. My wife and two young kids had a great time in Tahoe and really enjoyed this updated/clean condo. It felt more like a home than a vacation rental. We will definitly be back!
