About Beth Ham

Andy & Beth are local residents of Tahoe who reside in the small community of Brockway, located near the casinos on the North Shore of Tahoe. Andy is a Fire Captain at a local Tahoe fire department, and Beth has been managing condos at Northstar since 2004 for their Lake Tahoe Mountain Vacations rental business. Andy also taught snowboarding at Northstar for over 15 years. We both feel very fortunate to live in such a wonderful area like Tahoe, and we enjoy exploring and discovering new things to do here. We are more than happy to answer questions for our Lake Tahoe Mountain Vacations guests.

Beth Ham purchased this condo in 2005

Why Beth Ham chose Lake Tahoe North Shore CA

We live near Northstar in Tahoe, and have always wanted to enjoy the use of the Recreation Center facilities. After considering buying a vacation home for guest lodging, we decided Northstar was the best ski area in Tahoe for families and decided it was the best choice for us and our guests to use.

What makes this condo unique

Skiing right from the condo or being able to walk right down to the Village from our ski in/ski out condo is a real treat for you & your family. Once you stay in Ski Trails, you will not want to stay anywhere else at Northstar. And access to the Recreation Center with pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, gym, saunas, arcade, with everything you need for the whole family, is an added bonus!

Great location & a fantastic stay!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I stayed here for Spring Break, and it was just what we needed! The condo is just as described....very close to the Village Run, and the village itself, which made starting and ending our day super easy. We didn't have a car, so I appreciated that it was easy to do the short walk up the hill from the village on the nights when we decided to stay out a little later. Beth was responsive to my inquiries before we even booked, which made my decision much easier, since I was traveling to Northstar for the first time. She even recommended Black Tie ski rentals, which came to the condo so I didn't even have to bother going into the village to rent! There was lots of information in the condo about things to do in the area, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of towels. If we go back to this resort again, I'd definitely stay in this place!

Don't consider this ski in/ski out

  • 4 of 5

We stayed her in Feb 2017. Beth was very nice and helpful and the place is also nice. No issues with the condo itself.

I write this so people will be able to plan their trips accordingly. It is true that it is close to the village, but still a little bit of a hike on the way home, as it is up hill. This is not a big deal for me, but was hard since we have small children.

Also, in my definition of ski in/ski out, you ski up to your door or very close and later walk out, put your skis on and go. There is a run that dumps you off behind the condo. Again, it's still an uphill hike in the snow with gear and if you have kids, it is by no means easy. As for ski out, unless I was missing something, you still have to walk down to the village and take the gondola or lift up.

If neither of these are issues for you, then the place is great and in a nice location.

Owner's Response: Our condo is in Ski Trails and literally is THE closest to the Village and 20 feet from Village Run. This year in 2017 we have had a crazy (and unusual) amount of snow, which is good, but makes everything a little harder to walk to and get to everywhere at Northstar and in Tahoe, not just our condo. During a normal snow year (vs the feet of snow around the condos we have had this year which has literally created tunnels of snow to walk through), it is easy to ski out from this condo. But when we have this much snow, there are pathways that guests in the surrounding condos as well make to get straight to the ski hill which this guest missed, unfortunately for him. But it is pretty easy to spot. The very short walk from the ski hill (about 20 feet) is minimal considering staying in alternate places where you have to get back in your car and find parking in non ski in/ski out areas and have to take a bus back to your car. But you do NOT have to walk down to the Village, even as close as it is, from our condo (a 3 minute walk). You just ski out from the condo to the gondola. And if there is not enough snow (not the issue we have this year), you just walk about 20-30 feet to the ski run. You can literally see skiers ski by from the living room. I don't see how much easier it gets than that. I have had to walk much further when in the Village itself to get to the gondola than from this condo.

Our favorite place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 3rd stay in the past year at this condo and we couldn't love it more!

Very close to the village at Northstar. Just close enough to sit on the patio and listen to the live music but further enough away that it's very quiet. We enjoyed our morning walk and then down to the village for Starbucks.

The condo is stocked with everything you need. Blankets, sheets, extra pillows. The kitchen is great and well stocked with everything. We usually BBQ a couple nights while we are there and love sitting on the patio for dinner.

We are a family of 5. Two of our kids slept on the pull out couch and the other on the pads on the ground. Everyone had a space and was comfortable.

Summer is definitely a great time to go to Northstar. A lot of things to do with kids! We will be back next summer for sure!

Beth was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating!

great location, clean, and well appointed!

  • 5 of 5

The location was really great. We didn't even need to use the free overnight storage by the gondola, since the condo is right next to the condo run ski trail. The place is very clean and the kitchen has all the utensils you'd need. Bed was very comfortable and there were an overabundance of extra sheets and towels and such. Strong shower, good wifi, etc. Owners were very communicative and responsive.

Great DH stay!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here the location couldn't be more perfect for a Down Hill Mountain Biking Weekend!! Take Easy Ride, Mineshaft, Woods, ect right to the front door; just cut off the trail a little early (you will see the path trust me!). This room is like being in the village, but not; its just a short 2 min walk, best part you don't hear ANY village noises in this condo! The Gondola up to mid mountain is just a short 30 second bike ride away, no stairs.

We were able to wiggle two bikes onto the deck with room to grill. The kitchen has everything you need but a blender (I brought my own, gota have my smoothies!). Gas burning stove was nice. The room has black out curtains, nice! I can't speak about if the room has good air flow, to help cool on a hot summer day because it was a bit chilly/windy when we went, the heater works though and is silent.

Perfect amount of space for a couple, I think I'd feel crowded with 2 more adults. I'd honestly only stay here with a max of 3 adults.

The bathroom even had mini shampoo's, ect and q-tips. There was baby toys, a bit odd but good if you got a baby. There was a pack and play/crib, 2 twin futons, and mattress pad. Only down fall with the pillows and bedding was mostly all Down (feathers), I'm allergic so the first night I was sneezing a bunch; next night I realized why removed those from the room and I was fine. (Fine for the summer, but I couldn't stay here in the winter with only Down blankets).

Beth answers her phone promptly, and is very nice. Only one small issue I had was in the kitchen a few of the dishes were dirty, but I just tossed them in the dishwasher and it was fixed. I didn't feel like bothering Beth with dirty dishes, wasn't a big enough deal to dock any stars. We had to find all the grilling tools, scattered on the deck (wind I guess). The TV is really small, but we took my lap top with a larger screen for movies.

Overall, just perfect, by far the nicest room we have ever stayed at. We felt so fancy and high class.

The BF says "It was awesome." (That's his guy review for you)
