One bedroom beachfront condominium with glorious sunrises. King sized bed with pillow top mattress in bedroom. Lanai is perfect for whale watching. Newly remodeled full size kitchen with new cabinets, appliances, and countertops. All dishes, silverware, utensils, pots and pans are provided as well as a coffeemaker, hand mixer, blender and a toaster. Murphy bed in living area with real queen sized mattress. New paint and flooring throughout unit. The living area has an entertainment center with 40" LCD TV, DVD, VCR, Cable TV, CD Stereo. There is also a wall safe located in the unit. Air conditioned.

The Pono Kai Resort is located on the island of Kauai in the quaint town of Kapaa, and situated on 12 beachfront acres. Unspoiled tropical beaches cascading mountains and the "Grand Canyon" of the Pacific are some of the highlights that make Kauai unique. Surrounded by swaying palms, you will find your own Hawaiian Paradise at the Pono Kai Resort.

Facing a mile-long beach and readily accessible to numerous shopping and dining opportunities along East Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast, Pono Kai Resort offers a variety of recreational opportunities in addition to the beach.

The condo complex is very well maintained and equipped (there are night-time security patrols). It has a mile-long, golden sand beach and many palm trees, as well as other tropical shrubs and flowers.

The complex also has a swimming pool, with a Jacuzzi and saunas, two tennis courts, croquet court, shuffleboard courts and a small putting green overlooking the ocean. There is also a work-out room, with exercise equipment, located near the lobby in Bldg-K.

Games, videos, beach equipment and bicycles can be checked out at the front desk area. There is also an Activity Desk to assist you in booking tourist activities. The Activity Desk sponsors an Island Briefing each Thursday and Sunday morning (8am) at the pool area. Local vendors will describe their activities (boating, Kayak trip, nature tours, etc.) and offer a "2 for 1" drawing. It's a great way to learn about KAUAI and plan your stay. - The briefing is no charge + "free goodies".

  • we stayed at the May's lovely condo, in Oct. we enjoyed it very much, it's lovely and very well appointed.. comfortable bed and ALL our needs were met. The roosters rise early, but we didn't mind at all, they were also very beautiful to look at. I took lots of pics. The sunrise every am was so beautiful, sitting on the lanai having coffee made such a great way to greet the day, lovely place for any occasion.

  • We have spent two weeks in the condo (Pono Kai Resort, Unit 305C) and will try to come there again. The condo is nice and cozy; it has all the necessary amenities for a family vacation. The bedroom is air conditioned, which is important in summer. The sea view is gorgeous. As for us, the location is one of the best at the East cost of the island. There is a variety of beaches around as well as a number of shopping centers and restaurants. We also are appreciative for multiple helpful conversations with the owner of the property, Mr. Dean May. Overall, we are very satisfied with the vacation.

  • My wife and I spent over two weeks in late July/ early August at this clean, well-appointed condo on Kauai's East shore. It is close to everything, equidistant to the North and South shores. We woke up in the morning and looked out the glass doors to see the sun rising over the ocean. On the few days that the weather was hot and humid, the air conditioning made all the difference in the world. The owners are a delight to deal with. If you go, please spread a few sunflower seeds for the cardinal that makes daily visits.

  • This is a very nice condo for a reasonable rental price. The ocean view is great. We spent a lot of time watching the waves. The location is good for travel to both the north or the south, with restaurants and stores nearby. We were happy with our choice and hope to visit again someday.
