  I took my mother there for her 75th birthday, and it was perfect. We sat outside in the morning having coffee looking out at the Puget Sound. It was close to everything we wanted to do. We went to the Opera (fantastic). You can walk to some great restaruants. The beds were very comfortable, I wanted to take the towels home with me. It's nice to stay somewhere that makes you feel at home without feeling like you're staying in someone house. would highly recommend this rental. My mother said it was the best birthday of her life. (that made my day)

  We (my wife and 2 kids) stayed in this home for quite a while and absolutely loved it. It is very comfortable and cozy; has a great backyard and terrace off the kitchen with a barbeque, and a great front yard. Everything in the house is of high quality, from the kitchen (high end and very well equipped with both top of the line appliances and everything needed to cook and entertain) to the living room (furniture, TV,wi-fi), the dining room and the bedrooms/bathrooms which are really nicely furnished. We have now relocated to Seattle, and when we have friends and family come visit, we do not have them stay at hotels anymore - this is much much better and comfortable. It is truly luxurious, yet so reasonable price-wise. More importantly, it was easy to set things up with the owner... Very nice and friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay. For anyone looking NOT to be in a hotel, this is a dream come true alternative... particularly if you like walking, taking the bus (one block away!) or just taking a quick cab ride as the location is truly ideal in Queen Anne. We really love it.

  What a beautiful home! One feels they are staying at a (very chic) friend's home instead of a vacation rental. Beds are comfy with super soft sheets and great pillows. Kitchen had everything you could wish for. We walked to delightful restaurants in Queen Anne and drive to nearby wineries for tastings, although I'd stay there even if I didn't go out of the house.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  My wife and I stayed here with our 18 month old baby for about 2.5 weeks. We had a great stay! Pros: 1. The house was as-advertised, or in many cases better than advertised. We had everything that we needed, from towels to kitchen utensils to cable TV/internet to etc. etc. It had many nice-to-haves that I did not expect, such as a french press coffee maker, blender, front and rear patio / garden, and so on. In general, the finishes of the house were beautiful and amazing. 2. The house was VERY child-friendly. We made great use of the high chair, stroller, and the pack&play crib that was all provided. A huge plus when traveling with a baby! 3. The owner was very responsive. I couldn't get the upstairs second bathroom tub filler to turn on, and she answered the phone on the first ring and walked me through something that I missed. She was also very responsive in refunding me the security deposit, which is an area that I've had problems with in the past renting from VRBO. 4. The location is great! Views of the Puget Sound from the living room is, incredibly, better-than-advertised. It's also very close to downtown Queen Anne, and we enjoyed taking walks there with our baby. Cons: Nothing that I can think of! I can only think of one random minor annoyance, which was that I could never figure out how to properly set up the gates (which the house provided) in the stair hall. There were a couple gates in the closet, but none of them seemed to fit the stair hall width. It's possible that this was my fault and I just wasn't setting it up properly. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I'm grateful to the owners for the great experience, and look forward to returning in future summers!

  Firstly, the house is warm, welcoming, fabulously decorated and so very, very accommodating with lots of amenities. The house itself is immaculate, the view stunning, and the furnishings are elegant without ever compromising the warm feeling of a home. Three levels of living create a space that offers privacy to those that need it. But best of all were the beds - especially the master bedroom. It is rare to find a decent bed in any rented accommodation but these beds in this house were simply amazing. We loved preparing meals together in the beautiful kitchen. Macallen home will be the first on our list of recommendations to anyone visiting the city. We are very sad to leave but are also excited to know that this place awaits us when we decide to return. Thank you Holly and Luther for allowing Hobie to stay too, he loved the daily walks around Queene Anne's neighborhood.

  We had a great short stay in Seattle, the location is wonderful - easy access to major roads and great stuff within walking distance. House is very well appointed and comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone and the homeowners have worked hard to have great accessories (everything from wine buckets to baby gates). We would definitely stay again! One word of warning (not specific to this house), if you're not familiar with Queen Anne area it is very hilly, so if you're planning to walk, be ready to walk up and down some serious hills. :)

  My family had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The home is so well decorated but still makes you feel comfortable and at home. This truly felt like a home away from home. Every day we would walk up to Queen Anne Ave and to the park. The house is in such a great walkable neighborhood we didn't feel like we needed our car. Don't think twice about renting this fantastic home!

  This was probably the best vacation house for us so far and we travel several times a year and rent houses around the globe. Macallen house is even better than the pictures describe. And what makes is perfect is the feeling that you get after a just few minutes of being inside - "This could well be my real home ". Queen Anne neigborhood is great - clean, safe, well located for seightseeing and with probably the best restaurants in Seattle. Kerry Park is just around the corner. Great for a family stay, as well as for a group of friends or even a couple that wishes to get a real Seattle feel for the price of a good hotel. The owners are extremely professional about the rental process. Thank you Holly for your beautiful house, great conversation, maps and recommendations about Seattle and the Walla Walla bottle of wine that we extremely enjoyed. We hope to have a chance to return and highly recommend the house to our fellow travelers.

  This is a gorgeous home in an amazing neighborhood. As others mention it is very close to everything, but the hills are not to be downplayed - quite steep especially if you have a stroller. However, I can't imagine having picked a better Seattle rental. The house was incredibly well stocked with necessities and a large DVD collection. The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. Driving around the city is a breeze though - I was very surprised at how little traffic was (we did avoid the heart of rush hour naturally) and how plentiful parking was.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
