This was probably the best vacation house for us so far and we travel several times a year and rent houses around the globe. Macallen house is even better than the pictures describe. And what makes is perfect is the feeling that you get after a just few minutes of being inside - "This could well be my real home ". Queen Anne neigborhood is great - clean, safe, well located for seightseeing and with probably the best restaurants in Seattle. Kerry Park is just around the corner. Great for a family stay, as well as for a group of friends or even a couple that wishes to get a real Seattle feel for the price of a good hotel. The owners are extremely professional about the rental process. Thank you Holly for your beautiful house, great conversation, maps and recommendations about Seattle and the Walla Walla bottle of wine that we extremely enjoyed. We hope to have a chance to return and highly recommend the house to our fellow travelers.

This is a gorgeous home in an amazing neighborhood. As others mention it is very close to everything, but the hills are not to be downplayed - quite steep especially if you have a stroller. However, I can't imagine having picked a better Seattle rental. The house was incredibly well stocked with necessities and a large DVD collection. The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. Driving around the city is a breeze though - I was very surprised at how little traffic was (we did avoid the heart of rush hour naturally) and how plentiful parking was.

We had a fantastic stay at this house in Queen Anne. It is very homely and family friendly - I stayed with my wife, 2.5 year old daughter and newborn son. We were originally only going to stay for 3 weeks but liked it so much we stayed for 6 weeks. The house itself is excellent and it is situated in a really good neighborhood - on a quiet street but very close to all the shops, coffee and restaurants in Queen Anne. Holly was also an excellent landlord - very friendly and thorough with all the paperwork and payment details throughout our stay. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Seattle.

I just wanted to let you know how delighted we were with our stay at Macallen House. It couldn't have been more perfect for our needs, and was above and beyond what we even dreamed of, in terms of all the little extras and beautiful decorating touches. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with every utensil we could possibly need, and appreciated the nonperishable food supplies and coffee setup. We loved the stereo system, and were delighted when we realized that the beautiful flower arrangement in the living room was real! The dining room was perfect for meals and for playing games. We enjoyed taking the neighborhood walk you recommended through Queen Anne. Above all, it was a perfect place for extended family to spend a week together enjoying Seattle and each other's company in anticipation of our son's wedding. Thanks for creating such a delightful environment!

We absolutely loved our stay! It really is the perfect location - we could walk to Seattle Center, ogle the beautiful properties on Queen Anne Hill, walk to cute shops and restaurants, and take in views of the harbor and the city lights in the evening. I was thankful for the generous parking (we ended up with an SUV as a car rental), the washer and dryer (detergent provided!) and the well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The house was so beautifully appointed we felt we were staying in a luxury hotel - while still having a place for the boys to play games and relax downstairs. The Macallen house was immaculate when we arrived, and a bevy of guidebooks and suggestions made it easy to find things to do in addition to what we had planned. I thought the house was even more spacious than the pictures showed, too. I couldn't recommend this property more - we will be back!

We could not have asked for a better place to stay while traveling with our nine-month-old. Holly and Luther have thought of EVERY last detail. Not only did we enjoy the beautifully appointed rooms and glorious views, but we even had a stroller, high chair and Pack 'N Play at our disposal. Queen Anne is a charming neighborhood, close to everything and the Macallen house is within walking distance to numerous restaurants and sights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, highly recommend it and hope to return! Thanks again Holly and Luther!

What a glorious home!! The "wow" factor runs throughout every room, so beautiful and comfy. It was the perfect place for our girls trip and exceeded our expectations. It truly is a wonderful place to stay and I recommend it highly and hope to return someday. The location is perfect, close to everything. Seattle is a wonderful city to explore and the Macallen House is the perfect place to return to after a busy day. You'll be pleased to stay here....we certainly were!!

Five friends and I celebrated our turning 60 this year, at the Macallen House. We came from So Calif, Oregon, Maryland & Washington. Our comment upon entering the home was "Wow"!! It was everything the photos and description depicted and allowed us to celebrate our reunion in style!. We had the living room coffee table covered with old year books, letters & pictures from our youth. We opted to have our dinners at the dining room table because we wanted to savor our time together. We collectively cleared the table, did the dishes and returned to our reminiscing. We enjoyed Pikes Place Market, the Duck Ride through downtown Seattle & into Lake Union, Pioneer Square, Fremont District & the Ballard Locks, but mostly cherished the warm surroundings of a beautiful home with Dear Friends. I was privileged to stay in the Master Bedroom with a great comfortable bed, a huge closet and a bathroom to die for. The home was positively spotless. The towels in the bathroom were like something out of a 5 star hotel, plush & soft. We never turned on the TV, well we did but could never figure out the remotes...I believe it's an age thing. The property owners were like old friends right from the beginning and refunded our security deposit within a few days of our departure. I'd go back in a heartbeat and would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you Holly & Luther for giving us a perfect place to make new memories with old friends.

My family and I just completed a week of one of the most fun and restful vacations we have ever had all thanks to Mac House. Holly and Luther have it all figured out, folks. The house was spotless, 5 star luxurious down to the fluffiest white towels you have ever used, and the kitchen is way better equipped than my own. Their remodel is worthy of some HGTV design award. I kid you not. Sitting on the porch looking out at Elliot Bay, watching a hummingbird busily scarf up the lavender was so peaceful and we found that every need was anticipated and handsomely covered. We walked, walked, walked, and walked. The hike to Pike's Place Market isn't bad at all, until you get to that final climb home but the rewards are great. We had dinner in Ballard at Ray's. Fabulous food and views, and we ate in Ballard another night at Moshi Moshi. Every other night we ate at home, who would want to leave? If you have any hesitations about renting this house....forget them.

This is an amazing home! It is warm, comfortable, family friendly, a wonderful home to stay in! We were there to celebrate our daughters graduation and could not be more appreciative in how comfortable, how equipped, sparkling clean and furnished Holly and Luther have made this home. It seems that they have thought of everything including "Thomas The Tank Engine" videos for our 3 year old grandson to a wireless music system to help in the celebration. And, the master suite bathroom is just unbelievable!! We can't say enough about this house, it is just awesome. The photos do not do this house justice, it is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. We highly recommend this property! Thank you Holly and Luther for sharing this wonderful home and for making it such a wonderful place to stay in...
