Perched 50 feet above Tims Ford lake, this retreat has breathtaking Wide Open Views across the lake. A Large Floating Dock is perfect for Swimming, Boating, Water Skiing, Tubing, Fishing, Sunning or Relaxing. The Master Bedroom has an incredible Lake View through 9 foot wide sliding glass doors with a Hot Tub just outside on the 400 square foot covered patio. In the evening, the living room becomes a Home Theater with a 10' Screen and Surround Sound. A nearby Licensed Massage Thearapist is available for on-site (even on dock) massages! There is an exercise room, that can double as a second bedroom with a large futon. The living room has a sofa and two Rocker Recliners. A community Boat Ramp is 500 yds from the house. A Pedal Boat is available year round to explore the lake or nearby Goose Island. Originally designed as a 'mother-in-law' apartment, this 900 square foot property is the lower half of a lake home with a completely private entrance and extensive sound-proofing.
Location: Tims Ford is a 10,700 acre lake with 246 miles of beautiful shoreline. Located in a secluded community, but just 10 minutes from local restaurants, a historic cinema and a Wal-Mart. The Jack Nicholas designed Bear Trace Golf Course was named one of the 'Top Ten Places You Can Play', and it's a 20 minute drive or 5 minutes by boat! For history buffs, less than 30 minutes away is Jack Daniels, the oldest distillery in the US. Sewanee and the University of the South, along with exceptional dining, are a 35 minute scenic drive up the mountain. The Bonnaroo Music Festival is also 35 minutes away. Less than forty-five minutes to the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, and some of the best hicking trails in the Southeast, such as Fiery Gizzard and Stone Door. We are also an hour from Huntsville and the US Space Center, and 90 minutes from Nashville and Chattanooga.
Access: There is a gentle set of large open stairs with no handrail, down the hill from the parking area to the property entrance. The property is also about 50 feet above the lake on a fairly steep slope. The staircase down to the lake and floating dock has 60 steps. This property is not recommended for individuals with heart, back or other physical or medical conditions. Due to the steep slope and stairs, small children MUST be supervised at all times for their safety.
This property is best as a romantic retreat for a couple, or a couple with one or two children who are old enough to swim and safely navigate outside stairs to the lake. It can also be used for two couples, but there is only one bathroom and the second bedroom only has a futon and does not have windows.
The owners travel frequently and are often not present. Even if the owners are present, they are usually 'invisible' and the yard and dock are for exclusive and private use of the guests during their stay.

Why the Owner Chose Winchester
We moved here for work reasons and fell in love with the area and people. It's a slower paced life in a beautiful surrounding but with plenty of opportunities to play. You can either relax and soak up rays or fish ... or you can spike your adrenaline with water sports. We're very proud of our house. We travel frequently and thought it would be a waste not to share this.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We are located at one of the widest points in the lake with no development on the other side. At night, with almost no signs of civilization, you can pretend the lake is yours. Yet we are only a short boat trip or drive to golf courses or lakeside restaurants. We also love curling up on the couch and watching our favorite movies on the giant screen, or reading in front of the fireplace.

My husband and I had a very relaxing extended getaway. We fished, enjoyed the hot tub and surrounding towns. The Stevens have a beautiful home. There were homemade cookies waiting for us and chocolates on our pillows. It is perfect for a family of 4 of 2 couples. The boat dock was perfect for fishing from. We will be return to enjoy another wonderful stay.

I surprised my husband with a spring weekend getaway and this place was aboslutely flawless! The pictures do not even do the view justice. We had varied weather, but enjoyed soaking up the sun on the clear days and reading a book on the dock, went into Winchester to the San Miguel Coffee shop and sat in the hot tub on the rainy day, and loved staying in and watching movies, making dinner, and enjoying all the ammenities Dave & Lilli offer. I echo all the responses here, a great place owned by a great couple willing to do all the little "extras". Not far from hiking (Fiery Gizzard) or Chattanooga! Highly recommend!

This is the perfect "getaway" for a couple or small family. Very private and overlooks the lake. The sunsets are gorgeous! Lilli is the perfect hostess/landlord and will answer any questions very promptly. The pantry and fridge were fully stocked. She left us homemade cookies... and even put chocolates on our pillow! We had an amazing anniversary and I would recommend this place to anyone (although I really want to keep it a secret!) Thank you Lilli & Dave for sharing your beautiful place!

WOW! was my reaction when I walked into this place. My husband and I decided to get away for the weekend without the kids (however, they would have loved it). All I wanted to do was relax and read, and my husband was able to bring his boat and park it the dock right below the property. There are far more anemeties given to you than are indicated. There was a fresh plate of yummy cookies, the fridge and pantries were all stocked. You had to go to the store for absolutely nothing. Where do you get that kind of service?? for the price. Nowhere I've ever stayed. The view is amazing. I'm sure fall would be even more beautiful. We could not have been any happier the entire weekend. P.S. Now my husband wants a projection screen - it is pretty cool. Thank you Lilli for everything you did to ensure our stay was wonderful and making sure we would have everything we needed before we even arrived. Sept. 16-18, 2011

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is beautiful beyond words. I was able to get some well needed rest. The place was beautifully decorated and the view was breathtaking. We did some fishing/paddle boating then relaxed in the hot tub in the evenings. Highly recommended and the owners are really sweet people. Will defiantely be returng soon!

We loved staying at this house. It is beautiful, clean and has a nice boat deck. It is a good place for small families. The view of the lake during fall is great and it has also a nice home theatre if you want to stay inside and relax.

We choose Home Away from Home properties to stay in for our 3 person family on most of our vacations and get aways. (3 -4 annually) This property is by far the best one we have had the pleasure of staying at. What you see in the pictures and what is described is what you get upon arrival, a wonderfully maintained, perfectly functioning property in a beautiful environment. Your hosts are lovely to work with and are genuinely interested in ensuring your stay is a perfect experience. They make you feel like you are part of their family or close friends you have had for years. We needed a central location to tour Tennessee from Nashville to Chattanooga. We took a zip line tour, explored the Cumberland Caverns and visited Ruby falls and Rock City. Our 10yo boy had a blast! Paddle boating at sunset was a fantastic way to end our adventurous days. Beautiful Location, functional property, great instructions on operating everything and everything worked and worked well. I would highly recommend this property, our expectations were totally exceeded!

Before using this rental I knew the beauty of the area, but after I appreciated it more having spent time in the perfect accommodations. It is quiet and picturesque. It has everything you need for the perfect stay. The bed was comfortable along with the furniture. The kitchen is well stocked for staying in and cooking a quiet romantic meal. You can entertain yourself on the property or venture out and have pleanty to do in a short distance. My wife was totally pleased as this was the place I picked for our honeymoon. The owners Lilli and Dave were not there but made sure our stay was memorable and they are very knowledgable of the area and can direct you to sites worth seeing, places worth visiting and food worth eating. If you like nature, the outdoors, visiting historic places, romance, need a quiet place to relax, enjoy sightseeing, need to get away from it all or whatever you would love to stay here. I will recommend it to anyone and everyone I know. The only regret I had was not being able to stay longer. It is one of those places that just the view is a little peace of heaven on earth and allows you to enjoy God's creation at some of it's best. I could say a lot more but simply put is was great and we will be going back. Thank you Lilli and Dave!

My husband came home for a vacation from over seas. We decided that is would be great to just get out of town, and spend some quality time with the whole family. We have two daughters ages of 17 to 19. I thought it was going to be hard to find things to keep teens interest but there are several things to do and places to go. A couple of mornings my youngest daughter and her father went fish of the dock. Later in the after noon we spend time swimming or taking the paddle boat across the lake. If it rained we would watch a movie and play the Wii system on the big screen. (which a big win for teens video games) We checked out the Falls Mill which is beautiful, and breath taking (GREAT TO PACK A ROMANTIC PICNIC) or a picnic for the family, with a waterfall right next to a creak. Another place we went to is the Jack Daniels Distillery which was very interesting, My oldest daughter was surprise to find out that Jack Daniels had die from kicking his Safe. After she had watch a Thousand Ways To Die (TV show) in which one of the ways to die was Jack Daniels death. We also went to Nashville to the Andrew Jackson's Plantation. Dave & Lili, this place is a great location and also very homey. You make everything easy and pleasant for everyone to stay here. You deserve a BIG HUG of appreciation. This is outstanding!!!!! BRAVO!!!
