The property was as advertised. With 3 generations on our stay, the bedrooms on 3 levels were very nice. Kids in the basement, grandparents on the main floor and parents upstairs. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pans and utensils, etc. It is tastefully furnished and has an exceptional combination lock for the front door. It would be nice to have more storage space in the kitchen, especially with the closest grocery approx 1/2 hour away. All of the staff in the complex was very friendly and helpful. The community swimming pool has an ample deck with plenty of chairs. The lake is very nice with a swimming area, paddle boats, row boat and canoe with life jackets at no charge. Leave the bicycles at home, unless you are an avid biker. The hills are too much for a casual rider without 24+ speeds on the bike. Trash collection times were not always convenient, especially when we had to be out of the house by 11 am on Fri and trash collection wasn't until 3:00 pm. However the staff in the office helped out by having a maintenance person take it. We did not find many hiking trails, but the kids were satisfied with the pool, horseback riding and the lake. Enjoyed visiting the Roebling Bridge and Zane Gray's house. The deer were plentiful and very friendly. Two 2 black bears were spotted in the area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

This is truly a great place, the house itself with all its amenities and the easy access to the lake and pool makes it a fantastic value package. Ron and Chris were extremely nice and their attention to details made our stay one to be remembered for a long time by our family and friends. Everyone was very comfortable and happy feeding those dears that came to the door. None of us had ever been so close to such beautiful animals. The children were fascinated by "Bamby" as they named a little one that came by one day. I especially like the design and layout of the rooms which provide privacy and independence among the three family groups and friends we were. I definitely recommend this house to a family with or without kids. Everybody in our group would like to come back one day. Thank you Ron and Chris for such an outstanding job! I have already recommended it to two friends. Thank you very much and Congratulations for keeping so neat! The house is new and in immaculate condition. Everything in the description is accurate and pictures don't do it justice. We had a semi large group of friends stay over and were all pleased by the amount of amenities that both the house and the community had to offer. The property was clean, neat and provided us with ample opportunity to enjoy our stay. The only possible downside is the drive from NYC as you have to take local roads for part of the trip. But, in my opinion, it was worth it. Would like to come back again some time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

My family just rented this house for a long ski weekend and we were all more than satisfied with the accommodations. Not only was this house immaculate, it was large enough to sleep sixteen people without feeling like we were on top of each other. The rooms were spacious and visually pleasing. Had we decided not to ski, we could have easily stayed in the house and been entertained. One closet was filled with every board game you could think of along with movies, Wii games and more to do than we could have possibly had time for during our 3 day stay. We definitely recommend this house to others and plan on renting it again in the future.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our stay throughout the weekend was fantastic. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. It is a quiet development by the house, so you get the privacy you need, but there is plenty to do. The house is very well kept and the owners were very helpful for any questions we had during and even before our stay. The game room was a huge hit with the kids as well as the Wii system that is in the upstairs. We fit 10 people comfortably with extra room to spare. The deer come around and up to you to be fed, which we all enjoyed. There is also a fit pit in the front where we roasted some marshmallows one night. Masthope development has plenty of activities that you can partake in and you can even take a ride to see some beautiful falls(we went to Shohola Falls and there are some others around if you want to take a longer drive). I would defiantly come back to this property and will be recommending it to anyone wanting to come to this area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: My wife and I raised 3 awesome kids in Long Island, NY. We decided to build a house in the Poconos to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoy spending time as a family, whether it's kicking back and relaxing, playing games, horseback riding, or skiing.
Why the Owner Chose Masthope:
We choose to build in Masthope because of the wonderful ammenities. We have always loved the outdoors and all nature has to offer, and Masthope has lived up to all of our expectations.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
We have enjoyed heading down to the Delaware where it is common to see Bald Eagles diving for their food, or perching in the nearby trees. We always get a kick out of the deer that come right up to the house and eat right out of your hand. Be sure to bring plenty of bread or carrots.
