VRBO 356031, 401 Massachusetts Ave, was a perfect place to stay for two weeks. Four of us needed three separate sleeping spaces and this unit worked since there are three bathrooms and a pull out bed which we placed in a corner of the main living area. The apartment was very clean, easy access, and a pkg place for a rental car. The 24 hour manager on duty was always pleasant and helpful. We could easily walk to museums on the Mall and to many restaurants, one right across the street (Sixth Engine) and a terrific pizza place Wise Guys (no delivery but only a block away) and super sandwich place, Carving Board, next door to pizza. We also walked to DC Shakespeare Theatre. Safeway is about a three block walk. I highly recommend staying in unit 1103!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed four nights in the condo, and found it very convenient, comfortable, and larger than expected. We enjoyed having the room and privacy. The building is secured from the street, and a friendly concierge is on duty around the clock. Super easy to check in with concierge. Positives: clean, modern, safe, stocked with the basics, a great value for DC Negatives: street noise on Mass Ave can be loud at night, heating unit was noisy and inefficient, apt is due for painting touch upRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We had an enjoyable stay here with my wife, 7 month old child and my parents in early October 2012. The building is very close (2-3 blocks) to many good restaurants, Chinatown, the Verizon Center, Union Station and a 15 minute walk from the Mall and the various museums. The apartment is clean and well maintained with fast internet and a lots of TV channels. The kitchen is well equipped and there's also a computer room with scanner and printer. The gym in the building is good with TVs on the machines, we didn't use the rooftop deck because of the weather. The concierge was also helpful in providing luggage storage after check out. The apartment also has 2 balconies with views over the street. In terms of limitations there aren't many, obviously being downtown you get a few sirens at night and the dining/living area is a fairly compact but fine for 4 people. I'd certainly stay here again if I was back in DC. Also, the whole booking and management of the rental process was efficient and well done. In terms of things to do while you here, if you're a legal geek, oral arguments at the Supreme Court were awesome as were all the (free) Smithsonian museums, also Graffiato's Italian pizza place was good, but there are lots of food options very close.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Very good location - able to walk to Smithsonian museums and Capitol Hill easily. Nice space and apt is as described. Apt is clean overall but cleaning needs to be done behind the furniture (found food behind nightstands). Apt is fine but needs a few items: spatula, hooks for bathroom doors, new pillows, and curtains for bedrooms (shades are too thin and the bedrooms are not dark at night due to city lights). AC system is noisy when it kicks on. I would stay here againRecommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We were driving my parents (81 & 86) home from Florida and we wanted to stop in DC for the weekend to visit our daughter. Because there would be 5 of us, I was considering booking 2 hotel rooms for us. The price for the 2 rooms were much more than renting the apartment. And the apartment offered so much more! The accommodations were incredible. We were in awe of the apartment from the moment we walked in until we left. Everything was top notch and we weren't lacking for anything. We ordered take-out from Chinatown - which was around the corner and there is a Safeway close by too! More importantly, we all had a place to gather and visit in the living room. In a hotel room, we wouldn't have the "homey" feel. Concierge was very helpful. We had ordered a wheel chair from medical supply company for the weekend and we picked it up at the concierge when we arrived. A parking pass as part of the package was a bonus! Thank you so much! I would definitely recommendRecommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Bought WD40 for squeeky doors and dishcloths for kitchen, left them there. Needed spatula, door hook on back of bathroom doors. Took us 2 days to get a call back to fix LR TV. Had to leave condo due to smoke alarms going off for over an hour. Would have liked to know that pets are allowed in bldg. and whether our condo had pets staying in it. Overall stay was good.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Our family loved our stay here. We just left this morning and could not have been more pleased with our choice. The building was super nice and the free parking was a bonus. With 4 kids and a 10 month old, it was awesome to have so much space. We used both rollaways and also set up the pack n play for the baby. I could not have imagined staying all week somewhere without a washer/dryer or kitchen. As another reviewer mentioned, there is some traffic noise outside, but we were so tired at the end of everyday that we hardly noticed. We went up to the roof a couple of times to enjoy the view; it was even snowing one day and my son used the workout room twice. He said it was very nice. The condo was exceptionally clean on arrival and it was nicely stocked with things like paper towels, dish and laundry detergent, etc. Two metro stations are close by and many sites are within walking distance. Had takeout twice from Full Kee and tried two other restaurants in Chinatown (Matchbox and La Tasca). We would highly recommend this property and would love to stay there again!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We stayed at this property on July 27 to July 31, 2011. There were 6 adults and it worked great. Plenty of room for everyone. We used the two roll aways. The office fits one and the other one we set up in the living room. There is some street noise if you put the roll away close to the balcony door. The air conditioner is a bit noisy when it kicks on--but we all got used to it. The roof top was great. We used the grills on several occasions. A nice Safeway grocery store was several blocks away. The fitness room was also very nice. The staff at the front desk were very accomdating. Metro stop is about 3 blocks away. Would highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

What a great place!!! Could not ask for more.......centrally located, quiet, peaceful, grocery store around the corner, drug store across the street. Beautiful views, Union Station, Capital Building and Chinatown within walking distance. Rooftop with pools were fantastic. I can't say enough about this place. Would rent this again, maybe in the near future. You can't go wrong...........Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
