My husband and I, and 20 yo just returned from an 11 night stay at this condo and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. I found the owner to be very responsive to my initial inquiry and many follow up questions. I derived some peace of mind in knowing that Bill had local roots to the New England area and was very quick to respond with suggestions. We followed Bill's recommendation for renting a car from Zip Car Rental, and were very pleased. I was nervous about driving on the left side and opted to have the rental car owner, Lisa, deliver the car to the condo unit, rather than pick it up at the airport. Lisa even drove us to the airport for our return flight. We absolutely loved Sapphire Beach...Our last day was exceptional weather wise, and we enjoyed a fantastic beach day and a view that still leaves me speechless. We took the ferry over to St. John for a day, and also enjoyed a Snorkeling Adventure Day Sail offered by New Horizons out of the Sapphire marina, and a horseback riding beach trail ride originating from Golden Age Ranch to Lindquist beach. Each was memorable, and we enjoyed snorkeling at Sapphire as well! We found the Condo to be clean and comfortable for our party of 3 (at one time we thought we would have a party of 6 - and I feel this would have been a tight fit for 6 people). The unit was accurately portrayed in the pictures. The king size mattress and downstairs sofa bed were a bit hard on the back, but not deal breakers. We tried to access internet in the lobby but it was not available unless we purchased through the owner. The building exterior is in need of some attention, but the natural beauty of this setting abounds. We made good use of available beach chairs, beach towels, and snorkeling equipment that comes with the unit, and were able to order burgers/drinks on the beach if desired. The condo unit was well equipped for cooking and had plenty of closet/bureau space. We experienced occasional power outages, and the remote for the downstairs TV needs new batteries, but, all in all, this was a wonderful vacation, and I would recommend this unit for a party of 3-4 people!! We found the location to be very convenient for shopping, restaurants, nightly entertainment, and sightseeing. We really enjoyed the Coco Blue Restaurant in Red Hook, Molly Malones, and Iggies and the Lobster Grill at Bolongo Bay Resort. Bill is a wonderful source of information. Thank you for helping make our caribbean vacation so amazing!!

Waht else can be said about this condo? I agree with all previous comments. Great views, location, and owner. Bill was fantastic to work with and extremely helpful. I would venture to say this condo is one of the nicest condos in the resort. We didnt see all of them of coarse but the ones we did get a chance to see were not finished nearly as nice and stocked with fewer ammenities. The free use of the chairs, towels, and snorkel gear was a very nice added touch. I thoroughly enjoyed snorling with 6-14 turtles each day, Spotted eagle rays, Stingrays, and even a lone barracuda. SO cool. We had a negative experience renting from an owner on VRBO in February in St. Maarten, and I was a little aprehensive. This condo restored my faith and if anything set the bar higher. Look for Bills List on Tripadvisor to get an idea of how this owner takes pride in his condo and how helpful he is. thanks again Bill

Excellent "Home Away from Home"
My family truly enjoyed this beach condo. The quality of the unit is wonderful. The views are amazing. The owner goes above and beyond in trying to make you feel welcome, emailing you information about the unit, and the area prior to your vacation ( a big plus for a newbie). The management company did everything we asked them to, and even went a little above expectations. All in all, it's a great place to stay, and I would go there again. That, in and of itself says a lot. Thank you Bill, for all of your help.

Perfect Sapphire Beach Location
Perfect Sapphire Beach Location
The owner: He’s great to work with and stayed in contact with us right up until we arrived. He prepared us for everything that we would have to deal with upon arrival. Detailed directions to the condo, tips on how to check-in and even gave us a quick rundown of what the condo was stocked with and what we might want to consider buying for ourselves. We’ve rented condos before for family vacations and this was by far one of our best experiences with an owner. The condo: Located in Building A which is closest to the swimming part of the beach. This is a real plus and after you arrive you’ll see the other buildings and know what I’m talking about. The Management office is right below so it’s a quick trip down the stairs to talk to them, get beach towels (free to you) and snorkel equipment (also free). Parking near the condo is plentiful. All the furniture in the condo is in very good shape and did not seem dated to us unlike others we saw on VRBO. Appliances are all in working order and also fairly new. We also liked the two stories as there was a retreat for mom and dad upstairs while kids slept downstairs. A/C is there too if you need it. View from two balconies is fabulous! Location is ideal as it is very close to Red Hook (restaurants, markets, shopping, marina and ferries) I can’t say enough good things about the owner and his condo. He takes a lot of personal pride in making sure you have the best time possible in the USVI. There are other condo options on St. Thomas. In our opinion, no others have the combination of such a large remodeled unit, proximity to activities and located on what is arguably the best beach on the island. Thank you Bill for everything!

Home Away From Home
Home Away From Home
We were 5 ladies who were booked to sail the BVI's and since we lived near both coasts in Canada & the US, we elected to spend some time (4 days) getting reacquainted and your condo fit the 'bill'. It was exactly as described on this site and we were very comfortable. We appreciated the information booklet you provided via Trip Advisor. Your willingness to answer our questions via email & phone calls went above & beyond our expectations - thank you! We knew that if we had any problems we could phone you / inform the staff at the front desk. We needed kitchen linen and had no problem getting it. The view from the 4th floor was stunning. We have some photos that we would like to share, but see that there's no provision to do so on this site. We'll post them via TA. We concur with a previous post about the sofa bed on the 3rd floor being uncomfortable for adults ..... one person slept on the sofa bed in the bedroom for 2 nights and said it was comfortable. We loved sitting out on the balcony .... it was a perfect way to wind down. The condo was self contained .. it had everything we needed. We did not miss a dish washer or dining table & chairs. We liked being in the A building because it was close to the taxi stand and the office. Observations regarding the 'resort': it definitely needs an injection of energy .... when we got out of the taxi, the first thing we saw were rows of air conditioners. Further down there were buildings that had shrubs & trees hiding them from view. The office staff were not very personable / welcoming .... not sure why but this behavior did not meet our 'resort' expectations - that being said, it did not stop us from having a good time. Thanks Bill, we would definitely rent from you again :)

Nice condo in a great location
Nice condo in a great location
We stayed in Beautiful Bill's condo a few days before my wedding and it was beautiful. The kitchen and bathrooms were very nicely remodeled and we loved sitting on the balcony in the evenings with a cocktail. My parents-in-law stayed in top floor and said the bed was comfortable. My (now) husband and I took the pull-out couch. This is my one and only complaint: the couch bed was pretty uncomfortable. My parents and sisters had a condo two buildings down and they said their plumbing was horrible. So I think we got the better place. Other than that, the condo was great. Sapphire beach is beautiful and we all did some great snorkeling. It would have been nice if the pool bar/restaurant was open. We never visited the burger shack, but it smelled great. The location near Cruz Bay was awesome. So easy to drive down for dinner or to catch the ferry to St. John (where the wedding took place). All in all, I'd totally recommend Beautiful Bill's condo. And if we get the chance to come back, we'd likely stay there again.

Manager response: We have had an inordinate number of guests on their honeymoon or wedding and we love that they choose our special place for their special occasions When you are participating in an important event in your life you want a memorable location. Thank you for posting a review and we would love to have you come back often.
Once again we had a a wonderful stay at Sapphire Beach, the only thing missing was the restaurant and beach bar! The unit was in excellent conditions and the newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms were a big plus! My only complain about the kitchen was it was missing a dishwasher and a dinning table. The large outside patio table was rusted and it rained several evenings we were there. The unit did have bar stools at the kitchen counter but they were not easy to sit on to eat. The unit was very clean and well maintained and any problems we did have were taken care of in a timely manner. I would recommend this untie to my family and friends!

Manager response: So glad to learn that you enjoyed your stay in our condo. The patio table was purchsed a year ago, but we are learning and now realize that you need to buy a rust proof table. We will do so as soon as we can. We hope you come back again and again as you were a pleasure to work with.

Everything was Great
Everything was great. Condo worked out really well for our family. It is nicely updated and on the perfect location. Island is small enough that we were able to use it as our base camp for day trips but also enjoy beautiful beach. Also, proximity to Red Hook, grocery store, and dinning options was another plus. Thanks again and we will recommend your property to our friends.

Year Purchased: 1988
About: My wife and I would love to spend six or seven months a year here if we could bring our dog. We live west of Boston, MA and although we love the changing seasons, life at our condo at Sapphire is very special for us. I am not always very good at expressing to my wife how very special she is and how much I love her. I am also not very romantic, but somehow I came up with a very special moment for my wife while we were at Sapphire a few years ago . My brother-in-law and sister-in-law (my wife's maid of honor at our wedding) , were staying with us at the condo at the same time as our fortieth wedding anniversary. I secretly arranged for a surprise vow renewal at the point at Sapphire. I worked with a local wedding coordinator to help with the arrangements and I secretly flew my kids in and hid them out until the night of our anniversary. I lured everyone to the point at sunset and sprung the surprise. She was completely surprised. When she realized what was going on and saw the kids the tears started. It was a very special evening! A funny moment occurred before the actual ceremony. I got down on one knee and proposed, again. and again, and again. .....She refused to answer me! She claims she was confused and trying to comprehend what was happening, but I have serious doubts. I think she was mulling alternatives but I guess I will never know for sure. She eventually said yes. That is just one reason that Sapphire is so meaningful for us. We hope you can create your own memories on your vacation.
Why Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina:
We had visited many Caribbean islands before we came to Sapphire Beach. Just about the minute we walked out on the beach we knew we had found our beach. At that time, the early 80's, we stayed nearby as the resort had not been built. We saw some tentative plans and made a reservation for our unit. The construction was not completed until 1988, which is when we took title. St. Thomas is easy to get to from the East coast with direct flights of four hours or less from Boston, NY, and Miami. It is an American territory so money, electricity, and language require no special arrangements. Probably the major difference from the states are that they drive on the left. While nothing is guaranteed you usually have warm sunny days, with light breezes on every visit
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our family has sun lovers and shade sitters. Sapphire Beach has an abundance of both sunny and shady beach areas. The swimming beach is literally steps from our door, so going back to the condo for lunch, drinks, bathroom, etc is a piece of cake. Many choose to spend the day on the beach enjoying the beautiful view of St. John. Jost Van Dyke, Tortolla, and the many nearby cays. You can count on watching the Pelicans diving from the sky to catch fish, and walk the half mile beach now and then. There is a nice reef for snorkeling on the right side of the beach. It is a shallow reef so is very safe and yet has many different varieties of fish of all sizes and colors. For the more adventuresome there is an area of seagrass out deeper that usually has turtles, rays, and, squid. There is a dive shop on the beach with all sorts of gear and toys. There are floats, snorkeling equipment, wind surfers, kayaks, scuba, scuba lessons, and both shore and boat dives. Sapphire has an on site marina and there are many tour boats of all types in the marina that go to St. John, Jost Van Dyke, and the Baths at Virgin Gorda. There are several fishing boats in the marina as well. Be sure to ask about my special discounts on any New Horizon boat trips or sunset cruises.
