About: We are health care professionals who have returned to our land we bought 40 years ago. We love to cook and entertain and arrange frequent dinners, potlucks and wine tasting with our guests and friends. Creating an eco friendly environment is an ongoing process. Our berries, fruits and vegetables are organically cultivated. The chickens are free ranging and the growth season has been extended by a newly constructed green house. Most of our casitas and cabins are heated with wood fire stoves. Eventually we would like to be totally off the grid and supply our electricity from wind and solar energy. The eco lodge is part of a recycling program and uses only use eco friendly cleaners, dish and laundry detergents. A grey water system and a large holding pond with well and acequia water are being created to irrigate our expanding Goji plantation. The Eco lodge's water comes from four deep wells, fed by mountain aquafirs. We look forward to seeing you!

Why San Cristobal: We are the second owners of this historic property. Aldous Huxley and D.H. Lawrence lived and wrote in the smaller cabins. The main building was the the center of this small village with a post office, gas pumps and a trading post. When we first saw the little house that is now called 'the magical casita' we fell in love. It was barely visible from the the rest of the surrounding land, surrounded by a secret garden. We could almost could see fairies dancing close to the creek.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: Our lodge is also a great place for a family or friends' retreat. It is a tranquil place surrounded by nature, perfect for large gatherings such as a retreat. We have also had weddings in the field with a beautiful view of the mountain. The barn is being rebuilt to offer a place to dine away from the rain or sun.
Our place is also a focal point for our family and friends and we gather here many times a year for our own retreat.
