We've been coming to the Wilkesboro area every year for the past 5 and this is far and away the best place we've stayed. GREAT location for getting to the (surprisingly) good restaurants in N. Wilkesboro, as well as to wineries, Blowing Rock, hiking, festivals, and so on. Easy access for nighttime arrival - no twisty mountain roads. Older house from the outside but a beautiful job of remodeling inside, not fully captured by the photos (eg there is a cathedral ceiling in master bedroom with a stained glass window!). Comfy beds. Smelled fresh, not musty/mildewy despite lakefront location. Balcony was well furnished including a grill and hammock, and was great for evening relaxation. Owner was VERY easy to interact with and was highly responsive. Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family had a great time in this vacation home. The pictures online really do not do this property justice. The boat dock was awesome for fishing. The deck views of the serene lake were near majestic. We fished from the dock and mostly caught brim. My kids had a blast in the basement with the pool table and Rock Band accessories. I would recommend this place to other friends and family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The pictures on the web do not reflect how nice this property is. We stayed with our two young boys and had one of the best vacations ever. Perfect house for active kiddos and those who just want to relax. The lower level was great with the pool table..pin-ball...and Wii not mention the never ending movie selection. Fishing was awesome off the dock, we even managed to snag a 5 to 6lb blue cat. The pontoon boats in like new condition and ran great with easy lake/dock access from house. However the first few times up the hill from the lake made me realize I need to beef up my cardio workout. We would rent this house again and would recommend it for families with or without kids/teenagers, romantic getaways, active adventure seekers and weekend warriors....Thanks Again for the Memories:).Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We could not have asked for a better experience! The house was beautiful, clean, and even better looking than the pictures. Kitchen was well stocked and owners were very accommodating. The boat was well worth the added price and the reservoir was peaceful with very little traffic, just as described. Swimming off the dock could not have been more fun. Water was deep, clean, and relaxing. Fish were abundant. Neighborhood was quiet. Our four children and one dog all loved the trip and had a great time.Did you find this review helpful? Great house, very roomy and kitchen was very well equipped. Boat is new and in great working order. Thought gas would be expensive but we ran it moderately all week on less than a whole tank! Very quiet area, hardly any boat traffic. Not a tourist trap type of place. If you are looking for a quiet family centered vacation this is your place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had a great weekend at the cottage. The deck was such a great place to sit in the evening and enjoy the view of the lake. We even spent an evening on the boat dock which was also lovely. The house and surrounding area are very quiet and private. There was a personal note and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. We loved it there and would definitey go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
