Oceanside Townhome is a very comfortable 2 bed / 1 bath unit that is located about 100 steps from what is indisputably Jekyll Island's BEST Stretch of Beach!
The Unit has a covered front porch, and one-step entry to the main level which has a Living Room, Dining Room & Full Kitchen Combination. Upstairs is a spacious Master bedroom with Queen Bed, a 2nd Bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a shared bath.
A large outside wooden deck with benches, a patio table and gas grill is available. At the end of the Unit is an exterior laundry room with 2 Washers & 2 Dryers. Porchside Hoses, and an outside Shower are available to clean off from the Beach.
The Beach is about 100 steps away, down a path under Windswept Oaks, and along a very short boardwalk through the dunes - to a large Beachside View Deck with stairs down to a Wide, White Sandy Beach that you can walk on even during High Tide!! (Some areas of the Island are washed out at high tide, but our beach has white sand at all times!). This is absolutely a fabulous stretch of Jekyll Island Beach! We are close enough to walk to the shops that are located just a few hundred yards away.
Ocean Townhome is is the best Value of it's class on the Island! Great Location. Great Accomodation!

This is a great place to stay because the location couldn't be more perfect. Super close to the beach, bike path, small IGA grocery store, and a few shops. It's on a quaint and quiet street. My 73 year old mother, myself, and two children stayed here for 1 week during our spring break and had a great time! The condo is perfect for 4 people or less. I would not recommend up to 6 people because of the one bathroom and the condo is quite small. My only complaint is the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors on both sides. It really did not bother me too much once I got used to it but if you are sensitive to noises, do not stay here. Overall, very clean, cozy adorable little place, super affordable, and I would definitely stay here again next year for spring break. David was very nice and informative. The condo provided everything we needed even an outside grill. Jekyll Island is one of the most beautiful islands I have ever visited and super safe. Biking was by far my most favorite thing to do. We went horseback riding on the beach one day which was a lot of fun. We took a dolphin excursion which was a waste because we just saw their fins from a good distance away. The boat ride was fun and our tour guides were terrific. We had dinner at Driftwood Bistro which was pretty good and affordable if you like fried seafood and creamy sauces smothering your fish. The $10 bottles of wine were awesome and the restaurant itself was nice. The raw bar on the wharf was by far my favorite! We hope to be back next year! I am already missing my regular walks on the beach and bike rides!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Just wanted to say a quick thank you for the nice review, and comment on the noise aspect. My family vacations here also. I am the manager for the units and we have 2 boys and a new daughter :) I agree and disagree with the noise issues. In over a dozen stays, I have only had one time where it got loud - and that was the result of an exceptionally loud family next door. But during every other stay, always with neighbors in the units, I either never, or rarely heard anyone - even though often there were quite active families next door. So I think in general it is a function of WHO is next door, and what season it is. My main concern in posting this reply is for any potential winter guests - who are generally older, quieter, and should know that outside of spring break and summer holiday seasons when we often experience lots of children, the units are normally most popular with couples, and are much more relaxed and quiet. Peace, - david / Manager for Oceanside Townhomes

We just got back from spending 3 nights at this house. It was perfect for our young family, steps from the beach and in a quiet location away from the main street. The house is small & could do with modernizing, however it was comfortable and clean and the photos are accurately reflect its appearance. The location is what makes the place so great, it really could not have been better. The Manager was very helpful and answered all our questions. The only downside was the outside area had not been cleaned so it was not a great place to hang out. I didn't feel like sweeping the deck on my vacation! However this was a very minor issue. Would stay here again & recommend it to friends!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: NEW MANAGEMENT UPDATE: 1 YEAR LATER: I have been very tardy in responding to this review, which I do appreciate very much, and at the time given was spot on, and I had just been handling the rentals a few weeks. I do want to update however, a year having passed since the above comments,a nd many changes having been made. We are under new management, and a new cleaning staff - both inside and out. At the time this review was written, I myself must admit that the outside was horrible. Great steps have been taken to ensure that the outside walkways, deck, parking and trash areas are all cleaned and upkept routinely. Our Units have had new living room furniture updated, and most recently we repainted interior top to bottom as well. And we keep the interiors CLEAN! We are not the Taj Mahal. We don't have granite countertops or a whole lot of bling. But our unit is very functional, well stocked, the towels and linens and comforters/blankets kept clean and rotated with new regularly. We are one of the only group of units on the island to include towels and linens in our price. And we don't supply cheap scratchy sheets either :) The units are cozy, are clean, and best of all - they really are THE BEST LOCATION on the island - which we hear again and again from people. And we keep our rates down. It's tough times for folks and we try very hard to offer a good value. And if you've never been to Jekyll, I've been vacationing here for over 50 years. More than happy to share what I can! You will LOVE our Island :) Peace, - david / Manager for Oceanside Townhomes
