Nestled among a 12 acre working vineyard, Old Vine Cottage is a perfect place to stay for a family vacation or just a romantic getaway. The house comfortably sleeps 6 with 2 double beds in one bedroom and a queen bed in the master bedroom. Old Vine Cottage also has 2 1/2 bathrooms and a full kitchen.

There is plenty to do once you are here. Activities on site include enjoying a peaceful walk among the grape vines and around the property, Dish Network, air hockey, Playstation 2, DVD player, and plenty of open space for kids to play outside. In addition, if you are staying with us in September and October there is a good chance you will be able to watch the grape harvest and possibly even get to sample a little juice. The aromas during this time of year on the property are amazing.

The Loudonville and surrounding communities provide excellent entertainment opportunities year round. Loudonville, along with Mohican State Park, has canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, hunting, shopping, and numerous festivals throughout the year. Nearby Pleasant Hill Lake has boating, fishing, and swimming available. Lakeville has dirt track racing in the spring through fall. Holmes county also has the largest Amish community in the world and provides ample opportunities for shopping and delicious food. Wine lovers can make a short trip towards Wooster on State Route 3 and find Troutman Vineyards or head east on State Route 39 to Sugarcreek and visit Breitenbach Winery and Silver Moon Winery. If your idea of a good time involves skis or a snowboard then Snow Trails Ski Resort should be a good fit. You can also enjoy a round of golf at one of the many golf courses in the area. In addition, there is a zip line business in the area, a high ropes course, and Malabar Farms State Park.

Our stay was great. The owners were very personable and accommodating. I wanted to take advantage of the awesome fire place and he left a trailer full of wood. I would move in and offer to help them take of vineyard and make wine if I could!

We had a great weekend stay at the Old Vine Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. The owner went of her way to make sure our stay was outstanding! We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a quiet, get-away weekend. We enjoyed visiting Amish country during or time here. We would like to come back in the fall when the grapes are ready for harvest.

The Old Vine Cottage exceeded all of our expectations and the owners went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, enjoyable, and relaxing. The cottage was decorated very nicely for the Holidays which was a nice surprise when we walked in the door. It was very clean and well equipped.Even though we happened to get 6 inches of snow during our stay we absolutely enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend the Old Vine Cottage.

Such a lovely place............ It was our get-away to have Christmas and what a wonderful experience!! When we arrived cookies and a card was waiting for us. A tree decorated and lights to celebrate the holiday, lovely and a wonderful surprise. The fireplace was wonderful, cozy, quiet and restful. We also had the pleasure of LOTs of snow during our stay and it just made the stay even more memorable. The home was very clean, well cared for and cozy! This stay was a memory maker and Cindy was very attentive. We look forward to visiting again during the harvest of the vineyard!!!!!!

We just returned from a two day stay at this rental. The cabin is set in a vineyard along with a small orchard. The home is very nicely decorated and up to date. We all slept well on very comfortable beds and woke up to views of the vineyard. The owners are wonderful people to deal with. We planned to do some hiking and site seeing in the area and they generously provided information for us through pamphlets and emails. We are looking forward to going to the cabin again at some point next spring and I would highly recommend a stay here.

This house is very cute but, more important to us was very clean. The pictures were true and current. The owners were very accommodating to our requests. My son who is 10 loved the PS2 and the air hockey table, also some cool old time games. We had a very busy schedlue and didn't get to stay in the house alot, but they also had a beautiful fire place, and bbq to use.

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Old Vine Cottage. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated, just as shown in the pictures, and felt very homey. The location is quiet and peaceful and my husband even enjoyed a walk through the vineyard to check out the grapes!! The cottage is very close to Mohican and Holmes County, so we were able to enjoy many activities such as canoeing, flea markets, wine and cheese stores, and shopping just to mention a few. The kitchen is fully stocked, so we did do some cooking there and also would recommend the Mohican Tavern and the Malabar Farm Restaurant if you want to eat out. Also, one of the most important parts of this weekend for us was how easy and accomodating the owners of the cottage were to work with. They really wanted us to enjoy our time in the area and were very helpful in answering questions and making themselves available to us if we had problems. We would highly recommend this cottage!!

We rented this cottage for a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the birthday treat and card owner, Cindy Ryder, left for me. Cindy answered all of our questions promptly and was very helpful and accommodating to ensure this weekend happened for us. The cottage was just as we expected it to be (great online photos). It was extremely clean and had everything we needed. For in-cabin fun, they have an assortment of board games, video games and an air hockey table or you can read a book on the deck while enjoying your peaceful surroundings. Don't forget to walk the vineyard. The cottage is near dowtown Loudonville and within close proximity to area recreation. I recommend the Tree Frog Canopy Tours for zip lining and Mohican Tavern and Malabar Farm for dining. Malabar offers free desert for birthdays and anniversaries. I highly recommend this cottage and hope to visit again in the fall.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2011

About the owner: Old Vine Cottage is owned and operated by Tim and Cindy Ryder along with their two sons and their spouses, Andy and Esta Ryder, and Phil and Danica Ryder.

                  Why the Owner Chose Loudonville:
We purchased the property in 2011 with the intentions of running the vineyard and eventually opening up a winery on site. We decided that the existing house on the property would be best used as a vacation rental so that we could also have the opportunity to enjoy the property when it is not rented instead of finding a full time tenant, which would not enable us to enjoy the property ourselves. We spent the winter of 2011-2012 fixing and renovating the house and found great enjoyment staying there on weekends as a family.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The 42 rows of grapevines enhance the beauty of this property. Sitting on the back deck and watching the sun set over the vineyard is very peaceful. The delicious smells of grapes being picked and pressed into juice in the fall is a true highlight of the property.
