The "Following The River" log cabin is situated right on the outer bank of a long lazy curve in the Tuckasegee River near Cherokee and Bryson City in the Smoky Mountains. The incredible river views extend in both directions for up to a one-fourth of a mile. The FTR cabin was designed as a family retreat. It is centrally located in the heart of the Smoky Mountain vacation area; a great place to lodge is just the start of this beautiful vacation home.
As you drive onto the property you are greeted by the calm surrounding the Tuckasegee River, perfect to suit all your trout fishing, swimming, tubing, and relaxing needs. Along the bank sits a 26-foot authentic TeePee Lodge which will sleep 12-20 people. A perfect place for your youngsters to camp out while you are resting on the plush beds inside the cabin. The whole family can watch the sunsets while grilling some trout or marshmallows on the open pit fire area next to the TeePee.
As you enter the FTR log cabin, you are greeted by a 20-foot maple tree which is "rooted" in the foyer and branches up into the loft.
The entire first floor is finished with native slate and holds two gothic natural fieldstone fireplaces. A 500-square-foot, glassed and screened, enclosed porch overlooks the river and is filled with comfortable furniture pieces. Relax in the hammock and rocking chairs, or enjoy amazing sunset dining and create an lasting memory in all four seasons. The custom-built kitchen is large enough to cook a holiday meal, yet simple enough for just coffee and toast. All the comforts of your home-away-from-home.
The FTR log cabin is impeccably decorated in Native American and antique decor.
SLEEPING: The main floor has one bedroom with a king-size bed. The porch room has a twin sleeper chair and a futon. The second floor has one bedroom with a king-size bed and another with a full-size bed. The loft area has a queen-size sleeper sofa. The TeePee allows a camping experience for many more.
