This home is better than expected. Very clean and very stocked with all you will need. Everything in great shape inside and out. Rental process was very easy and communication was very smooth. No waiting weeks for answers to questions. Very nice area to get away on a vacation. House very large and we had plenty to do in the area. Nice sound system inside the home for some vacation music to play and get you in the mood. On a scale of 1-10 this is a definite 10.
Owner response:Terri & Mike, Thanks for your very kind review of Villa Floyd. We had a fabulous, stress free vacation at Villa Floyd. Everything we needed was at the house. Don't even bother packing beach towels. The hot tub was relaxing, the pool was refreshing and the neighborhood is quiet. We took a couple of trips on the boat and saw dolphins. So exciting for the kids. We cooked out on the grill every night and ate on the patio by the pool. The screened in pation keeps all the bugs away. It is a must have for a Florida vacation. Though we never went biking, there are bikes for your use too. Ft Meyers is close and we took a walk at sunset on the beach and had ice cream at the Dairy Queen. We visited Siesta Key, a short 1 hour drive away. We went to Sanibel on the boat and saw dolphins in the clear blue waters and then we also drove there and spent the whole day on the island checking out different beaches and collecting shells. Fishing really isn't our thing, but we did catch a few catfish right off the dock at the house. It was just a great relaxing vacation. Rich was very nice and helpful from the time I first contacted him. We will definitely be going back again in the future.
Owner response:Noelle & Shawn, We're so glad to hear you had a great time at Villa Floyd. Thank you for the kind review, and for sharing your personal comments with us (and others) about the special moments you experienced during your recent vacation. Thanks again for being our guests. We look forward to your return visit to our humble home in Cape Coral. Best regards, Rich & Rebecca

This is our 2nd year at the villa. We really enjoyed our stay for 2 months. The weather was beautiful. In the 70’s at the start and 90’s when we left. We used the pool almost every day. We went to Sanibel & Captiva islands several times and had lunch at the Green Flash (very good). We went to the imaginarium in Ft Myers with our grandson. Lots of hands on things for the little ones. On our last morning we walked our dog to the park down the street and saw a group of Manatees playing not far from the shore. That was very exciting. We also saw a large tarpon in the canal. At the end of the street there is a family of borrowing owls. We had fun watching them prepare for their babies and standing watch over their home. Most nights we just stayed at the Villa and grilled fish that we bought at the Beach fish market. We had a lot of fun going in the boat and sightseeing in the canals. People are very friendly and wave as you go by. We have come to feel very at home at the Villa. It was a very brutal winter back in Wisconsin and we were very glad we didn’t have to deal with it. Every time we talked to someone back home they sounded very tired of the snow and gloom. We are looking forward to our stay again next year...
Owner response:To Linda & Jack: Thank you for your wonderful review and high rating of Villa Floyd. We are truly glad to know that you will be returning again next year for the third year in a row. Your desire to return annually is the best reference we can think of. We are most appreciative of your kind comments, and also for the information you are sharing in this review. Hopefully, it will be of significant benefit to other "potential" guests that are considering Villa Floyd for their accommodations. Thanks again, and take care. Rebecca & Rich

While making our annual trip to Cape Coral for baseball tournment at the Red Sox Field, we rented several homes for our players and parents. This home was the only one of the rentals that did not have problems. No green pool, refigs that were not working or dirty sheets and air condition that didn't work at this location. Everything was ready, clean and as promised. The home is on a canal with a boat and comes with a lesson with a Captain that ever for the most seasoned boater will appreciate. Equipped with all the items to do some serious fishings, you will enjoy every minute of this vacation home.

We stayed for a week in May and had a great time. The property was clean and well maintained as the boat was also. We took the boat out for fishing and site seeing on several occasions. The house was perfect for our needs and would be for any family. The owners were attentive and very easy to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone and will also use it again myself.

Another wonderful 2 weeks at Villa Floyd (this was our second stay here). This is a lovely place to stay. We recommend taking advantage of the optional boat rental. It's great to go out fishing/sight seeing in the morning, returning to the villa mid afternoon to then relax by the pool and enjoy the late afternoon sun. On an evening we tended to cook a meal at the villa and relax poolside with a drink. What a life!!! Can also recommend a drive round the 'Ding' Darling preserve on Sanibel - it's worth taking a rod and some bait to drop a line in near the culverts. And don't forget the camera to photograph all the birds, crabs and other wildlife. Rich and Rebecca are wonderful hosts who do all they can to ensure you have a great vacation. Should you have any problems they are only a phone call away. Hope to be back again next year for our 30th wedding anniversay.
Owner response:To Geoff & Ellen; Thanks for your kind comments about Villa Floyd, and for sharing your experiences while there. We are pleased to know that your second holiday stay in our home was again most enjoyable, and that you've taken away such wonderful memories each time. You are great guests. We look forward to making Villa Floyd available in 2011 for you to celebrate your 30th anniversary. Keep in touch.... Rebecca & Rich

Dear Rich and Rebecca, we had a wonderful time in your beautiful house and it was soooo hard for us to leave.;o(( As we arrived there, we immediately felt like at home! We sent you with seperate mail a pic of a nurseshark, catched at Sanibel from the beach-close to the lighthouse and a blacktip, catched from the boat. We cant wait to come back next year...we already count the days, and we just came back to Germany 4 days ago!!! ;o))) Again, thank you for everything you done for us and the great tip for our 1 anniversary "Rumrunners"!!! Everything was perfect! Have a good time, talk to you soon. Marion and David

We are nearing the end of our 2 week vacation here at Villa Floyd and no one wants to leave. It has been a glorious 2 weeks here. The Villa is just wonderful and the pictures posted on this website do not do this beautiful Villa any justice. Everything here is just bigger, better, prettier and cozier than the pictures could ever portray. The view from any place in this villa is just beautiful. Everything here has just exceeded our expectations including the hospitality extended to us by the Floyds. This is the PERFECT place for a family vacation and the layout of the villa is also perfect for a family and allows privacy and a place for everyone to escape. Every bedroom has a TV which our teens thouroughly enjoyed and the dock area was perfect for them to text their friends, listen to their ipods, read and just "chill". The pool area allowed us to spend quality time with each other while dining, swimming, playing board games. We rarely ate out because the kitchen and grill area was perfect and stocked with everything you could possibly need to prepare a perfect meal including the spice cabinet (just a perfect finishing touch for someone like me that loves to cook). The villa is also conveniently located to everything. Just perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more. We can't wait to return for our next vacation, hopefully this summer. This is by far one of the nicest homes we have spent our vacation at and we would highly recommend to anyone that they spend their vacation at Villa Floyd. The Grisafi's, Linda, Vince & Melissa and cousin Joseph.

We spent a glorious week at Villa Floyd last summer. From the moment we opened the door to the panoramic canal view, we knew it was a good choice. Our hosts were wonderful, Rich called to make sure we had arrived safely and if there was anything we needed. Well, there was nothing we did need, it was all first class. We took advantage of the optional boat rental, what a great deal that was. We took daily boat trips will our children, anchored at Sanibel and Captiva. Got to navigate the waterway fairly well once we figured out the markers, they really are there for a reason :) The villa was lovely, no need to eat out as the kitchen was fully equipped and we had waterside dining every night. Would love to go back some day, thanks so much. Wendy and Jeff Barnard
