  • A perfect week!

"We had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable week at Barnacle Bills. We spent most of our time eating, drinking and hanging out under our very own beach huts. Some great restaurants, bars and a bowling alley within walking distance. The way the bungalos are built make for a perfect breeze flowing through the house. Not to mention waking up to the gorgeous sunrise. We enjoyed our daily morning coffees chatting with Bill. Bill and Adriane were very helpful hosts and we hope to go back!"

  • Perfect Place for Our Family over Spring Break

"We had a great time in this little house over Spring Break this year! My husband and I slept upstairs, and our two sons (11 and 15) slept downstairs.. and we all slept incredibly well! The house was clean, comfortable, and informal in the sense that we did not have to worry about our active family breaking anything! We ate breakfasts that included fresh pineapple and papaya on the screened porch, looking out on the beach, and we spent our days noodling around in kayaks (available next door), swimming, snorkeling (on guided tours), zip-lining (1 hour drive from Maya Beach), and eating well in local restaurants and "at home"... The only frustration, as far as our sons were concerned, is that WiFi availability is a little spotty so their phone and ipod use was limited -- which, of course, my husband and I were happy about! I really recommend traveling this way with kids; after a day of adventures, we could rinse and dry-out our gear, eat snacks, read... all without being confined to a hotel room. For our vacation, we rented a vehicle and drove the 3 hours south from Belize City to Maya Beach, which was easy and fairly straight-forward (but with a lot of speed bumps!), and allowed us to explore, see other parts of the country, and venture into Placencia, when desired. We also rented a little flip-phone through the car rental agency at the Belize City airport, which made local communication with snorkeling tour operators and restaurant reservations very easy. We really didn't want to come home at the end of our vacation! Thank You, Ken and Candace!"

  • Relaxing -- felt like home

"We would definitely recommend the Treeptop Villa. Each floor is air conditioned, the kitchen is modern and the master bedroom and bath is wonderful with a veranda off the bedroom. It was always quiet and Aaron was available to help us in any way to make our stay enjoyable. The beach is a very short walk across the lane and is a great place for walks. We enjoyed the restaurants in Placencia and enjoyed swimming at the beach at the harbor. We were not able to scuba dive because of colds but found enough other ways to enjoy this country. We visited a banana farm and the tour was very interesting. Be sure to have some fish meals while you are in Belize. We talked to several locals and learned about the country. The Treetop Villa is a very safe place to stay because of security at the gate."

  • As close to paradise as possible

"Our family ritual is to go someplace warm over winter break. Our dear departed grandmother started this practice many years ago and we have diligently carried it forward. We have been to Hawaii, (a couple of times) California, and gone on a couple of cruises. (not the children's favorite) We have never ventured outside of the U.S. on our own but decided to give Belize a try. We are very glad we did. To start with the house was great. As shown and as described on the web site, although; we think the owners could have done a bit more bragging about the sleeping arrangements as the beds were very comfortable, something we don't usually find in rental houses. Yvonne was very helpful with pre-trip information. She even sent us very detailed driving directions from Belize City to the house including points of interest along the route. (rest areas, gas stops, places to grab a bite to eat, etc.) Lus (the house care taker) deserves a pat on the back as our plane was delayed a few hours coming in but she was at the house with a big smile to greet us on our arrival. She was also available during the week if needed but not a snooper, a troubling experience we have had in the past. The weather could not have been better. It rained a few times during the night but the days were sunny and warm. (85º to 90º) Just what us northerners needed. We didn't even find it necessary to use the A/C as the breeze off the ocean was more than enough to cool things down at night. We did a few touristy things but it was just as much fun to hang out at the house, swim in the pool or ocean and cook up some steaks on the outdoor grille. We would highly recommend Seabreezevilla if you are in search of an excellent vacation."
