  • Lovely Unit in St. Croix

"I expected a lot after having read the reviews of this condo. The condo is beautifully furnished. It is in a great location. It is outfitted with just about everything you would need, beach towels, sunscreen, DVDs, books, WI-FI, etc. There were even fresh flowers in a vase when we arrived. Cynthia, the owner, provided us with a lot of pre-trip info which helped us have a good start to the trip. The unit was very clean and the first floor location was great. We visited in August so there were fewer tourists, less tourists on the roads and no waits at restaurants. We had been a little worried about driving on the left side, but after the first day, it seemed natural. We would definitely recommend renting a car and making a tour of all the islands sites. Pelican's Cove's location was perfectly situated for touring, just watch out for the speed bumps. Don't miss the Curzan tour, Whim plantation, Cane Bay, and the winding mountain road to Carambola. Caribbean night at the Palms, Monday nights, was great! we had our best meal at Rowdy Joe's, and the ice cream at Armstrong's was worth the trip. Overall, St. Croix was a great place for a vacation, and Cynthia's condo at Pelican Cove was the perfect place to stay. We would definitely come back!"

  • Fantastic stay at Sea Escape!

"My family and I spent almost a week here last month and had a fabulous time! The condo offered everything we needed for the week, including small things we may have run out of such as condiments for the kitchen and suncreen. The location was located close to town and easy access to all attractions on the island. Although the island and the property were quite sleepy while we were there, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this condo for your stay in St. Croix. Terry was fabulous to work with and made everything easy and comfortable. Thanks again!"

  • Perfect Condo in Paradise

"This condo is wonderful. Not only is it located, in my opinion, in the ideal location on the island; but, the property is well maintained and spotless. The condo is roomy and the outdoor deck is extremely large with lots of comfy furniture to lounge on while you soak in the magnificent view of the sea and buck island. We were lucky enough to spend all of May 2014 in this condo! We have been to St. Croix 7 times and even stayed for 4 months one time. This is our second stay in this condo and we will never stay anywhere else! Lynda and George were awesome with their communication and continued to check on us once we got on island. The wifi works great and you even get a strong signal from the pool! I can't say enough about the staff -- lovely and welcoming. We cook in a lot and the kitchen has all the amenities you'd have at home -- and then some. The snorkeling on the beach out front is wonderful. Swim past the sea grass a little to the left and you will find a snorkel tire park where you will see lobster, tons of blue and yellow tang, puffer fish, barracudas, spotted and southern stingrays and much more. One swim out to Long Reef (about 1/2 mile) we saw 7 sting rays. The diving on this island is not to be missed -- boat dives with Dive Experience and shore dives at Cane Bay. If you walk to the left on the beach don't be put off by the shells and rocks past the next condo property -- put on reef shoes and in 30 steps you are on lush white sand that is a stretch of about a mile -- and there's a bar at the Palms restaurant. Tavern 1844 downtown has the best burgers! Get out to Annaly Farms for fresh seafood/meat. Also, veggie/fruit market on Sat a.m. at LaReine (intersection of 75/70). Take a trip to Buck Island and stay in 201C at Colony Cove!"

Christiansted Travel Tips

Getting to Christiansted Vacation Rentals

Christiansted is one of the main towns on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was once the capital of the Danish West Indies and many of the historic landmarks reflect the colonial architecture of that era. Henry Rolston International Airport is one of the two major airports in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The airport hosts regularly scheduled direct flights with the U.S. mainland on several North American airlines. To cater to the European market, there are also direct commercial flights between St. Croix and several major European cities. There are also regular regional flights from neighboring islands including Puerto Rico, San Juan and St. Thomas.

Activities and Things to Do near Christiansted Resort Rentals

St. Croix is famous for its beautiful tropical coral reefs and abundant marine life. Divers can expect to see huge gorgonian fans, masses of tropical reef fish and enjoy pristine diving conditions. If you are happier on top of the water instead of underneath it, you can still enjoy the marvels of the reefs on various snorkeling excursions.

Kayaks and windsurfers are available for rent at many of the resorts and beaches. Kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. If you want to improve your windsurfing skills, you can always sign up for a few classes at the local surf shop. Kite boarding is another popular activity along the coast.

Nature lovers can view some of the turtle nesting sites. There are several environmental groups that conduct studies on the turtles' nesting habits and they are always glad for volunteers who can assist with their monitoring and research.

For those that want a bit of pampering, there are several health spas that offer massage and a range of other beauty treatments. Some have treatment rooms overlooking the beautiful coastline where you can relax and enjoy your treatment.

There are three golf courses on St. Croix and tee-off times can be arranged by calling the golf club or resort. Several resorts have tennis courts where you can enjoy a game with a group of friends. Because the days can be quite hot, many of the courts are lit so you can enjoy an evening game when the temperatures are moderately cooler.

Travelers to Christiansted Villas

People that choose to stay at Christiansted vacation homes are those that enjoy stylish tropical vacations. It is a popular vacation destination for corporate executives looking for a break away from busy city life. Scuba divers are drawn to the pristine coral reefs and almost perfect diving conditions. Sun lovers come to soak up the sun’s rays on the beautiful sandy beaches. St. Croix is a destination that invites relaxation. It is also a wonderfully romantic destination and popular with honeymooners or couples celebrating special wedding anniversaries.

Best Season to USVI St. Croix Vacation Rentals

St. Croix has what some people refer to as a perpetual summer season. The tropical climate is consistently warm throughout the year with little seasonal variation. The only thing that distinguishes the seasons are the amounts of rainfall and humidity. While Christiansted can be visited year-round, the only season to be cautious of is the rainy season when tropical storms or hurricanes occur on occasion. This is between June and November, with most storms occurring in August and September. The island is well equipped to deal with hurricanes and has storm shelters. With the exception of tropical storms, rain showers do not generally last long. These showers usually occur in the early morning or evening, and are short-lived. The days, while humid, are still wonderfully sunny. The driest months are February and March and this is also the peak tourist season. Year-round, the water temperatures remain fairly constant, providing excellent diving and snorkeling conditions.
