  • Perfect Spot!

"The house & location were perfect. The views were spectacular! Although it's not right on the beach, the secured area was exactly what we were looking for on our all girls trip. House, rooms and beds were clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this property! Hope to return soon!"

  • Unforgettable Vacation!

"Decorated with warmth and subtle charm, this home away from home is the perfect retreat for anyone wanting to experience island living on St. Thomas without feeling like a fish-out-of-water tourist. HBH provides an experience unlike anything you’re likely to have: inviting comfort and relaxation nestled on a lush tropical mountainside, coupled with stunning views of serene Magen’s Bay and surrounding areas below. The sounds you will hear at night from the forest are wonderful. Prepare yourself, as it will be very difficult just to tear yourself away from the view long enough to enjoy the other amenities this airy and spacious home has to offer such as an infinity pool, a sprawling deck with grill, a full kitchen with a dining / living room / entertainment area and two cozy bedrooms (the one upstairs has its own deck with an equally stunning view). If you do manage to get out to see the rest of St. Thomas, HBH is perfectly situated, a mere 10 – 15 minute drive to the popular locales: downtown/Charlotte Amalie and Frenchtown for site seeing, shopping and dining, Red Hook for more dining/nightlife options and catching the ferries to the neighboring islands and of course, any of the island’s splendid beaches. High marks for the level of hospitality this home has to offer – the attention to detail (beach chairs, beach towels and robes are some those perks) is evident throughout and Robin’s personal touch as caretaker (always accessible by phone or text) will make your stay all the more enjoyable. With a name like “High Blue Heaven”, you simply cannot deny that this property lives up to its name. It is a wonderful island treasure, hard to leave and certainly hard to forget. • Home away from home

"My family and I truly enjoyed this clean cottage. Joanne met us at a hotel by the airport since we used a local rental car company. When we arrived at the cottage, Joanne gave us a tour and to our surprise we had everything we needed plus more. Even when my husband took the screen door off track by mistake, Ken quick fixed it without disruptin our vacation. We would stay here again! This place has a million dollar view."

  • Wonderful and hospital

"This place is on the North Side where the regular folk live. It's great, as its quiet from the bustle of the town. If you want to go to town its a 15 minute drive. Hulls Bay is where the locals hang out and everyone was very kind. Definitely have the blackened shrimp tacos there. The place is clean and decorated nicely. Joe was a superb host, meeting us at the airport and then showing us the ropes. His years and experience as a sea captain makes him an ideal host. If you leave late in the day he is sure to leave the lights on for your safe arrival later in the evening. Kitchen had nice dished and cooking pots, which is not necessary the norm in a VRBO and a welcome surprise. Breakfast with the view of the harbor and mountains can't be missed and we were lucky to have a rainbow on our last day. Definitely try paddle-boarding and enjoy watching the pelicans and surfers. If you are new to the island, 1) don't be skittish on the roads. They are fine and just not mainland levels. 2) If you have your quarks for certain spices or herbs, bring them as food on the island is expensive. We brought a few bits and it made a difference. House is: 0 seconds for a fabulous view. Seriously, even in bed it's gorgeous. 5 minutes from the beach 10 minutes from a Kahlua Chocolate Boozy Milkshake 15 minutes to the city Best food was the blacked shrimp at the bar in Hull bay and the Rum Shanty in French Town. Try the fish tacos and bean fritters. If you are noise sensitive, bring some earplugs. The way the house is situated echos the roar of the ocean and during a breezy night it can get loud. I bought a pair and slept soundly. My partner and I had a lovely time. Will come back again. Joe is a wonderful host."
