  • FANTASTIC Stay in Old Town Scottsdale

"Wow - My friends and I travel every year during the winter to escape the cold and we head to a warm weather destination for golf. We have done Florida, Myrtle beach, Palm springs and Arizona. We are happy to say that we have found our place to stay in Scottsdale after trying numerous other places through the years. We rented two units side by side from these folks and we all indicated these were the best that we have ever experienced. The location is fantastic. The ability to walk to old town every evening and access the restaurants, shops, galleries, etc. without worry about driving back to our place was a treat Plus it was a wonderful way to walk off dinner each evening. Just a fabulous location. We also play golf each day and it was easy to schedule courses within a half hour of this location. Tons of courses to chose from. Because of the central location we also were traveling opposite of the traffic each day (which is HUGE in the PHX area) The condos are located close to the airport so easy access in and out on travel day and the space and furnishings were just perfect. Great bed linens, comfy beds, tons of space to spread out, each bedroom and bath was totally private from other couples. The property was completely supplied with plenty of tissues, toilet paper and paper towels. We own rental properties, so can be picky, I have to admit that this property not only met our expectations, it exceeded our expectations. The reservation, checkin and entire process was easy. These condos will definitely be our go-to spot to stay in future trips to Scottsdale. Thanks for a GREAT winter escape!! Debbie Daniel and group."

  • Golfer's Nirvana

"For years, our annual college buddy golf trip would set up base camp at a hotel (2 rooms with 2 queen sized beds), a condo (3 bedrooms, 2 guys got their own room, 2 guys who drew the short straw had to share), or a hotel Villa (someone always got stuck on the dreaded 'pull-out couch'). Looking back, this arrangement has been pretty lame. This year we put a stop to that and, as Greg Focker once said on Meet the Parents, "we pull down some pretty good bucks, so we popped for the full-size." Staying in this beautiful home for our golf trip was the best decision we've made in quite some time. The house is tastefully appointed, very clean and fresh, loaded with 'guy stuff' (several flat screens, poker table, outdoor gazebo, iPod receiver, fridge that keeps beer at 33.5 degrees) and crazy-convenient to all Scottsdale has to offer. I highly recommend this great vacation home."

  • Wonderful home in The Boulders

"We are so glad that we chose this home for our stay in The Boulders. The location and views are spectacular, it's very quiet, the people are friendly. It is also convenient for the things we like to do. The home is well appointed with all amenities you could want. The owners were very helpful and prompt with answers to any questions. We would definitely recommend this property to others and hope to stay there again in the future."

  • Awesome Place Perfect Location

"Just got back from our stay at the PLAZA next to the Kierland Commons and must say we had a awesome week. The condo is very nice and super clean. My wife and I travel with our best friends and found it to be just a nice size. The bedrooms are situated at either end which provided privacy for that late night......well you know. The master has a huge bathroom while the 2 nd bedroom has a decent size on suite with shower. I was surprised that both bedrooms have large walk in closets. Other VRBO units I have rented in the past have been cleared out by cleaning staff. I was nice to find condiments, a few beer, soft drinks, bottle water left in the fridge. There was even a fine bottle of red wine left in a cupboard. It was the most completely stocked condo I have ever rented. Thank you ! The grounds were very nice and the pools were excellent and not very busy. We enjoyed late night hot tubs just the 4 of us as no one else was around. I can't say enough about the Keirland Commons / Scottsdale Quarters.......just a 8 min walk you never have to drive. The restaurant selection was unreal..........we dinned one night at Mastros Ocean Club wow best meal ever....although the bill was $650.00......(that is what happens when you order $80.00 bottles of wine) well the next night was The Cheesecake Factory only $85.00......and Bobby's Italian was also excellent. But Tommy Bahamas was our favorite. Our next time in Scottsdale will be in 366808 at the PLAZE RESIDENCE. Thanks Catherine and Jason....oh ya you have great neighbors"

Scottsdale Travel Tips

Whether you're a fan of cowboy culture, enjoy warm climates and are looking for an exciting adventure in the West, mosey on over to Scottsdale.

This Arizona city is bordered by Phoenix and Paradise Valley to the west, Carefree to the north, Tempe to the south and Fountain Hills to the east. Scottsdale features an arid climate with hot summers and mild winters. If you're traveling from somewhere with frigid winters, come to Scottsdale during the cold months to enjoy some welcoming warmth and sunlight.

Scottsdale is often divided into four areas: South Scottsdale, Shea Corridor, North Scottsdale and Old Town Scottsdale, where you can find many of the area's shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and art galleries. The city is a great place to experience a variety of cultural experiences where you can learn about the history of the city, see some unique art and discover more about Scottsdale. It's also a top spot for enjoying the outdoors. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking, rock climbing and other recreational activities.

Things to Do in Scottsdale

- Camelback Mountain: Outdoor enthusiasts will love a trip to Camelback Mountain. Its name comes from its shape, which looks like the head and hump of a kneeling camel. Two hiking trails cover 1,280 feet to the top of the mountain and are perfect for avid hikers looking for an adventure. If you enjoy rock climbing, check out The Praying Monk, a red sandstone formation, located on the northern slope.

- Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art: If you're hoping to see modern works of art during your trip, you'll find it at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. It's Arizona's only permanent space dedicated solely to modern art and is located in Old Town. You can wander through five main galleries as well as an outdoor sculpture garden where you'll see pieces from the permanent collection as well as traveling exhibitions.

- McCormick Stillman Railroad Park: The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a 40-acre space featuring a 15" gauge railroad, a Magma Arizona Railroad locomotive, a museum, three model railroad clubs and a 7.5-inch gauge live steam railroad. Paradise & Pacific Railroad is the first and oldest attraction in the park. There's also the Charro Carrousel and playgrounds for the kids.

- Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West: Architecture lovers and fans of Frank Lloyd Wright won't want to miss a visit to Taliesin West. This place was Wright's winter home from 1937 until he died in 1959. Today it's the main campus for the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and is home to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. It's open for public tours, so make sure you stop by.

- Desert Botanical Garden: With such a warm climate, you'll certainly want to spend as much time as you can outside. You can visit the Desert Botanical Garden and enjoy the outdoors following five thematic trails. You'll see thousands of arid-land plants from not only Arizona, but all around the world. The garden also features different events during the year like the butterfly exhibit, the Music in the Garden concert series and Las Noches de las Luminarias.

- Pueblo Grande Museum & Archaeological Park: Step back in time and learn about Native American Hohokam culture. The museum centers around the ruins of a 1,500-year-old Hohokam village. You can explore art, lifestyle and the canal system. Get hands-on with the Explore Archeology exhibit, see workshops, take a tour and experience true Native American culture.

- Rawhide Western Town: Step into the old West with Rawhide Western Town, a Western-themed attraction with an acclaimed steakhouse. Listen to cowboy tunes at Rawhide's Saloon while you challenge other patrons to a game of pool. See live-action stunt shows and shoot outs with the Arizona Roughriders, or enjoy trick roping and fancy riding by Texas Kate.

Shopping and Dining

- Kierland Commons: Kierland Commons was the first lifestyle center in Arizona, and it's centered around a main street with mostly outdoor shopping. It features nearly 75 stores and restaurants, so there's plenty to peruse and something for everyone. Enjoy some window shopping, pick up some souvenirs and enjoy a delicious lunch or a quick snack to refuel.

- Scottsdale Fashion Mall: The Scottsdale Fashion Mall is the largest mall in not only Arizona, but all of the Southwest with around two million square feet of retail space for you to explore. This is the perfect place to do some serious retail therapy. The mall features a variety of store options, from high-end retailers to local, unique shops to suit all of your needs and wants. After shopping 'til you drop, enjoy a fantastic meal at one of the mall's eateries like Kona Grill, Paradise Bakery or Yard House.
