  • Magical

"This place is magical! We loved every minute of our time there. Our family rented this spot in July 2013 for a family get together – 11 of us ranging in ages from 3 to 67. Having the 4 cabins (including one with 2 bedrooms) meant each family had privacy. The main cabin provided ample room for all of us to be together. We had the canoes and kayaks out everyday – the lake is calm and calming; manageable for new kayakers and a treat for those with plenty of experience. There were enough life preservers, including ones for the little ones. Bonfires in the firepit were gorgeous, nestled next to the lake. The cabins are situated between two very cute towns with shopping and antiquing an easy 5 minute drive in each direction. The kitchen is well appointed and the cooks among us were easily able to create gourmet meals. Hiking outings were also easily accessed. The place was clean and easy to keep clean. Owner was quickly responsive to questions. Would definitely recommend this place for others and hope to be back there again."

  • Something for Everyone

"Our extended family of 9 stayed here for the week. The house was plenty big and everyone had a bed which were very comfortable. The house is located in an association and the house are very close which concerned us at first but after staying a week there was little no noise from the neighbors. The common area had a fire pit/grill and a beautiful big lawn with gazebo. We did not use this as the house had a grill and a fire pit of our own which was required for this group. We launched out kayaks right at the dock and used them every day, all day. There are about 40 steps from the lower level of the house to the dock so plan ahead. The house was equippted with every thing, even the Wifi worked all the time. We met the Management Staff when we got there and they were very nice. They even came back after a few days with some extra towels they forgot. Our group ranged from 6years old to 73 and Rangeley had something for everyone. We love the hiking, swimming and of course the bowling at Moose Alley, which you can walk to in 5 min. The convience store is literally a 2 min walk away. The only bummer is because it is in the Cove there isn't deep water at the dock for the kids to dive off from. They can swim out to the Association dock and jump off whcih is only a 2 minute walk away. One cool thing I liked was watching the Sea Planes land almost above our heads on the deck of the house. We hope to go back to Rangeley next year and would recommend Russell Cove."

  • Historic Maine cabin in the woods

"This cabin is exactly as pictured and described - but the experience is beyond words! Morning mist slowly lifting to reveal a shimmering, glassy lake. Kayaking to the accompaniment of a chorus of loons. Jumping out of bed in the morning to get the stove's flames revived so I can chase the Maine chill with the warmth, smell, and comfort of a wood fire. Hiking the AT, Cascade Stream Gorge, and Bald Mountain trail. And sending an email home every night to let the family know that I am fine. A perfect vacation: restful, remote, and fun."
