  • Superb spot for foliage.

"My wife and I spent two weeks at the house during the Fall foliage and this is a gem of a spot! The view of the lake (and loons) were phenomenal and looking out the window was a calming meditation unto itself. The master bedroom feels like its right on the water and the view could be the best on the lake. The rental was in immaculate condition, tastefully decorated, and even had a full spice selection for our fish. In other words, we didn't need to bring anything to feel like we were already at home. The living room has a nice gas fireplace next to a comfy glide rocker that is a nice touch. The stay was restorative and very peaceful all around. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for that perfect retreat spot in the Adirondacks."

  • Great Vacation 2014

"We had a wonderful week, starting with watching the final game of the World Cup and ending with an evening of kayaking and canoeing on Eagle Lake. We swam just about every day, hiked up 2 mountains (one hard, one easy), took out the canoe and the kayaks several times, used the bbq, played games in the evening at the long table, and croquet between adventures during the day. Everyone loved the week here - 3 boys, all teens (well, one 20-yr-old), my husband and me too. Early mornings were quiet - just us sipping coffee, reading by the windows and sometimes hearing the loon. Nights were peaceful and falling asleep to the sound of the loon, an owl and the breeze in the trees was very relaxing and we wished it could have been 2 weeks. There is plenty to do, but you have to drive a bit - always worth it. The Adirondack Museum was just over an hour (but great), hikes everywhere, a day over to Vermont well worth it, and so much to do we could not get to. No wifi for these otherwise addicts, and no complaints all week. Hope to make it back. It was lovely, the house was very clean, very comfortable, very well-outfitted and very private. The owner checked in to see if all was going well (via phone). Highly recommend this place!"

  • Wonderful family rental, close to village yet private

"This house was a good fit for two families plus grandparents. The common rooms were large enough to accommodate our party of ten if we all wanted to be together, but there was plenty of room for us to spread out when we wanted time apart! The house was just as shown in the pictures. The covered patio and outdoor fire pit are really great features you won't find at other rentals. The location is fantastic if you want to be within walking distance of the village, but still have quiet and privacy. It was ~ five to seven minute walk to the village and Shephard's Park. We needed a stroller for the younger ones in our party (~ 3 years old). The Shephard's Park beach was great for the kids (age 3 - 7). There was no need to go to Million Dollar Beach. We found the beach rules to be very strict relative to what we are used to, and did not spend a lot of time there. Claire was very helpful before and during our vacation. The house felt like a home, and was nicely decorated. We would recommend this property to others. The Prospect Mountain hike (just behind the house) was very nice, but I would not recommend for small children. We really enjoyed Capri's pizza on the strip. We saw the Thursday night fireworks from Neptune's restaurant - great place for the whole family. If you are looking to get out of the village check out the Painted Pony Rodeo - also great for families."

  • Wonderful experience and highly recommended

"My family and I traveled 18 hours to vacation in upstate NY so we reviewed several rentals. I'm so glad we selected this camp and we had a wonderful experience. First, the camp is very clean and well maintained with all of the necessities. The owner was very responsive in ensuring we were accommodated. Next, the camp is very charming and inviting. In particular, there is a fabulous, enclosed porch that overlooks the lake. The porch has a dining area and sitting room that is very cozy. It has an eclectic, Adirondack charm and I could have stayed there all day. It gets better…there is also an outdoor porch that also overlooks the lake. Also, there were potted plants, Adirondack benches, a hammock, and other finishing touches around the home to make it special. The morning we departed, we decided to feed the ducks with some bread that the owners provided. I wasn't sure if there would be any ducks given that it was 6:00 a.m. However, we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by 6 ducks as well as a beautiful loon! The owners obviously put a lot of effort and care into their camp to make it such a great place. We highly recommend this camp and would rent it again."
