What a terrific place to gather family, as we did for a special celebration in July. We arrived following about 16 hours traveling and our spirits spiked when we saw this house on the Bay and went inside! It was perfect for our 3-generation group. The teenagers loved the provided kayaks and the other 2 generations loved watching them in the Bay racing, clamming, and generally showing off. Clean, airy, spacious inside and out with plenty of room for our 8 occupants plus 5 other family members staying in a related farmhouse a minute away, who usually gathered here for meals and lounging and fun. The outdoor tv room was perfect for the kids and entertaining before our celebratory "banquet" inside. You never saw such an extensive array of kitchen, cooking, and serving stuff!
This attractive house has a broad frontage on Westcott Bay, with expansive, beautiful lawn and adjacent apple orchard. Without being isolated, it offers complete privacy, and it is well stocked with gear for water activities. We loved it!"

"Ah....honestly, we have not stopped talking about our wonderful stay at Delongview. We had four glorious days and nights over mid-winter break at this special getaway. We were blessed with the mild winter days, which also led to starlit nights we were able to enjoy from the comfort of the sofa while gazing out the enormous skylight. Nearly everything you could need is in the house, and if you cannot find it it 1) you have not looked hard enough or, 2) you will find something else that will be a fine substitute. The only exception is if you are traveling with small children, you will want to bring your own equipment and entertainment for them. The movie, game, and book selection is definitely geared for adults, but we were prepared and brought what we needed. As it turns out, the kids ended up chasing each other around in circles in the large great room and kept themselves entertained for many hours doing so! It was a great set up because we could keep an eye on them while still relaxing or while making our meals. The slate floors were definitely very efficient at heating the house - as some have stated almost too efficient, but it also enabled us to just open the doors and let in the fresh air. I have debated whether to suggest an upgrade to the electronics as the TV, while indeed has a flat screen, is not a flat screen TV, and is rather dated. However, the point of spending time at a home like this is that you get away from the electronics. Instead we listened to music on the CD player - had dance parties, and enjoyed our time together without everyone staring at the TV. The wi-fi worked great There was a good selection of books and puzzles for adults. The house was nearly immaculate and I felt comfortable just settling right in without worry that the house needed cleaning. The trees have grown some since the photos were taken, so the water views were not as expansive as the photos seem to indicate, but this did not inhibit the magnificent sunrises from every room in the house. My only complaint is actually my own fault in that I waited until our second night to try out the tub, thus delaying by a day my full relaxation. All I can say is ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Now I want one too! Caution though - all you need is one or two squirts of the bath gel for MORE than an ample amount of bubbles! Many thanks to Donna for sharing her wonderful home with all it's comforts and special touches. We hope to return sometime soon!"

"We were in Bellingham for a wedding and stayed to vacation. So glad I found this house! It kept everyone happy and occupied for six days. It was hard to get them to leave to go anywhere else. So much fun playing on the water with everything that is available. Just sitting on the deck and looking at the lake was wonderful. And when the zip line was discovered, well, that took it over the top! Alan was so responsive and answered any questions promptly. We rent a vacation house every summer. We've done beach houses in Oregon and mountain cabins near Yellowstone, but nothing tops this one. Thanks for a great vacation!"

"Our family stay was gorgeous and stunning. The cabin itself has a classic and clean look, and comfortable for its small size, yet for our family of 4 very well. Our children loved going to the beach at high tide (which was just steps away) to find small crabs and treasures. The adults loved the fire pit and huge lovely yard. The view was amazing and only about 1/2 Mile or so from downtown. Our experience couldn't have been better. I have been visiting Friday Harbor for 11 years and this is by favorite little getaway. We will be coming back to stay."
