  • Love the river!

"The house was great! We had a plenty of room for a party of 5 adults and 3 children. Thank you for providing such a fairly priced, family friendly, vacation home."

  • Great Cabin in the Woods

"The most relaxing vacation my family has had in years. We enjoyed the seclusion and rustic feel of this cabin. We had seen so many variety of birds, also a few deer walking across the road. The mornings were spent listening to the creek and sitting on the deck enjoying the fresh air. I could only imagine how beautiful the fall would be with all the leaves changing color. The only thing we needed was a few groceries and a blow dryer. I guess the previous guess must have taken, so the new pink blow dryer is my cabin contribution. All said and done my family will definitely return again."

  • LOVED IT!!!

"It was absolutely what we were looking for! We were looking for some place to literally get away from it all and we found it here. Very secluded, peaceful, and beautiful. We would definitely stay again! The cabin was easy to find, clean, inviting, a wonderful home away from home. The owners were very nice and easy to work with and supplied us with ample information on arriving and things in the area. It was nice to sit back and relax for a few days. The views were amazing and the hiking adventures we took were great. We have three children who also enjoyed every minute of it especially the hiking and climbing on rocks. They had fun finding old railroad stakes, snails, frogs, butterflies, deer, and even a snake. We absolutely loved it and would recommend this place to anyone."

  • As Advertised and Better Than Imagined

"When I first found this property on VRBO, I was intrigued with the seclusion and access to the National Forest right from the back of the property. We love to hike and being able to access hiking trails from the property was very important to us. The Lodge is definitely secluded but you can still drive less than 20 minutes and be in Hillsboro (a small town). The Lodge itself is stocked with all that you need to have a great stay. It seems that prior guests have left behind certain kitchen items for the next guests which resulted in a fully stocked kitchen. 2 refrigerators made it convenient for larger groups like ourselves. The house has a great pot belly stove that keeps the Lodge at a comfortable temp. The Lodge has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The owner, John, was very attentive without being intrusive. Since the Lodge generates its own power, he was very helpful in explaining how the house power is managed and we had no issues at all. A couple of phone conversations was all that we needed to figure everything out. He was always available if we needed him. We had all kinds of weather while we there. Sunny, rain, cold, warm and snow. Each climate offered something. We had 6 inches of snow one day and that made for a great day of snowball fights, igloo making and sledding. The views were spectacular and the sunrises incredible. We cannot wait to go back."
