Beautiful sunrises & sunsets from our 5BR oceanfront duplex. No hidden fees.

Captain's Choice is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath OCEANFRONT duplex with over 2100 square feet of living space that sleeps 14 people. The kitchen was completely remodeled in the fall of 2017 and there is new furniture in the living area and lots of new furnishings throughout the rest of the house. The main level has a fully equipped kitchen with all brand new appliances in 2017, a granite topped eat-in island that can seat 4 people, a living/dining area with all new furniture in 2017, and a queen sized bedroom with full bath that was remodeled in 2018. The second floor has 3 king sized bedrooms, 2 of which are oceanfront with decks, and 2 full sized baths, both of which were remodeled in 2019. The third floor is a perfect retreat for the children featuring 4 single beds and a queen sized bed and is equipped with lots of toys and games. New mattresses were purchased for all beds in 2019. New flooring was installed in 2023 and the entire interior was repainted in 2023. The duplex has free WIFI, 6 cable TVs, charcoal built-in grill, DVD players, beach furniture and toys, and hot/cold enclosed outdoor shower. Beach games include bocce ball, corn hole, volleyball, and a water table for the little ones. There is plenty of room to play and rest on the wide spacious beach that is only a very short walk from the house. Duplex is very private with its own separate walkway to the beach. The decking areas are all newly renovated to meet current code standards.
Please note that Captain's Choice is rented by the week during the months of April through October from Sunday to Sunday. For the months of November through March, a minimum stay of four nights is required.

PLEASE NOTE: I require a signed rental agreement for each rental to include the mailing address of the tenant. House access information will not be released if I do not have a signed rental agreement in my file.

My family and I had such a wonderful and fun Thanksgiving vacation in Emerald Isle, NC. The home was so warm and cozy—truly the perfect layout for a family of all ages. Also, we tried out the recommended spots, Flipperz and The Sweet Spot, and they were absolutely delicious! I completely understand now why Sue is a Premier Host. She truly thought of every little detail, and it made our stay feel effortless.

If you're looking for a great house in a great location along the beach, look no further. It's far enough removed from the built-up parts of the island that it was quiet and not at all crowded, but close enough to everything to be convenient. We woke up to the sounds of the surf and watched dolphins swim along the shore from the deck. The house is easily large enough for a good-sized group without being too large. It was clean and had everything we needed for the stay. All in all, an excellent place to spend Christmas or any other time of the year.

This was the best house we’ve ever rented! Our adult children and their significant others joined us and we were all happy with king sized beds and our own baths. Why they chose this property

My family and I have been vacationing in Emerald Isle for over 30 years. We love the quiet, family friendly atmosphere where our extended family can come together from three different states and truly relax. The people in Emerald Isle are super friendly and truly do want you to enjoy their town. This past summer (2016), while vacationing, we found a home right on the ocean (because it has long been my philosophy, if you are going to the beach, you might as well see the ocean!) that fit our family perfectly. Emerald Isle is uniquely position as it is a south facing island. Because of this, you see beautfiul sunrises over the ocean in the morning and equally beautiful sunsets over the ocean in the evening. Emerald Isle was voted the Best Beach in North Carolina by USA Today in 2018.

What makes this property unique

What first attracted us to this house was the bright cheery beach colors and the open living room spaces with windows across the entire side facing the beach allowing so many views of the ocean. The deck and the entire walkway are new. The house has a private walkway to the beach that is not shared with the other side of the duplex...one of only a handful of duplexes in Emerald Isle to boast separate walkways. We have converted to a keyless door entry system for very easy access. A kitchen remodel was finished in the fall of 2017 that includes all new kitchen appliances and a new washer and dryer. Two bathrooms were remodeled in 2018 and the third bathroom was remodeled in the fall of 2019. New flooring on the first level was installed in the spring of 2020.
Emerald Isle faces south so you can enjoy both sunrises and sunsets from the privacy of our deck--both are beautiful! The ocean is a short easy walk from the house--and dolphin watching is a favorite pastime.
