It is really Heaven on Earth! Best Christmas setting ever with the view on the beautiful frozen lake
Bob saved our Christmas by renting us his wonderful lake house last minute. It ended up being the best choice I could have made! I had never felt so like home in a rental house before. This home definitely has a special soul. The decoration is amazing, it's warm and cosy and the view is stunning. Bob is an -amazing- host, and has many good tips to make your experience special. The house is very comfortable, beautiful and unique. Everything is well organize and practical to be easy to use, and elegant at the same time. Thank you Bob!
Serene & beautiful Goose Pond....could be perfect, with a few updates
Clean, spacious, well furnished, adorable, classic lake cottage on peaceful, picturesque Goose Pond. Lovely panoramic views, very low motor activity during the day, and the loons serenade you every night.....Groceries, restaurants, & indoor venues for kids are at least 30 minutes drive away, but achievable. Our host Bob was responsive & extremely welcoming.
However, please note the following impressions:
> Not recommended for children under 12
> No railings on the elevated outdoor deck
> No railings on the interior staircase to 2nd floor
> floating narrow dock segments tip side to side & end to end; can't have more than 1 person on it at a time; bit tricky getting in & out of our kayaks
> Needs new oven & vent hood
Bob is aware, and assures us that he has a plan to address some of these issues.
With new deck & stairs to the water, and a stationary dock system, this cottage will be ideal for summertime lake-loving families. We hope to return someday, Bob!
We’ve rented our lakefront home for 30+ years. We have ALWAYS been receptive to constructive criticism/suggestions. Furthermore, we’ve taken suggestions and made numerous changes and upgrades to enhance our guests stays We want our guests to have a pleasurable and enjoyable stay at our “very special place.”
The comments made by our last guests are thoughtful and merit serious consideration. With that in mind, some modifications to our property are now planned and will be undertaken in the near future.
Many of our guests have returned year after year (3 families with 20 or more) and the children have never had a major accident. Our place is safe for children and adults of all ages.
Great house right on the water!
We stayed at this lake house over New Year's. The house was charming and very comfortable for 5 people. It was cozy watching the football games(Nice tv), taking in the view of the lake, and enjoying the wood burning fireplace. We went ice fishing right out the backdoor and caught some nice yellow perch. We went skiing at Killington for just one day because the average high was -5 for our trip. Bob was very helpful and made it very easy to rent his house. He gave us great information about the place and surrounding areas. Would definitely stay here again!
Charming lakefront cottage with a beautiful setting!
Overall, we were very happy and the cottage and lake served us well. Only a few minor issues: a banister in the stairway would've have been beneficial...we had two 70 year olds who needed one. The stove needs to be updated and we were surprised to find the beds unmade. After travelling all day we were not happy at 10pm to rummage through a plastic bin with random sized sheets to make our beds. On the plus side, the weather was ideal and the outdoor setup was perfect for us and our wedding guests.
Great Memorial Day weekend
We have a great time staying in the house on Goose Pond. There are beautiful trails and great lake. The owner of the place is very friendly and ready to help with any problem. Level of communication with him is superb. The house has its own charm and memories of mid XX century.
You will enjoy your stay there!
