Sitting on the property of Northwinds Adventures, a year round camp, this brand new "Brook Trout" cabin is available NOW. Inside, it features 2 bedrooms; one with a Queen bed (linens provided) and another with a set of twin beds (sheets provided upon request for a $10 fee). For additional sleeping space, there is a large leather couch and double futon in the living room (sheets provided upon request for a $10 fee) or space for a cot. Harwood floors throughout cabin, bathroom is tiled with a standup shower. A wood burning stove is available to take the chill off in the cooler seasons, firewood provided for $5/bundle. The kitchen is full with everything you need to prepare a great meal after a day outdoors.
The cabin is tucked in a grove of aspens about 100 yards from our very own Love Lake. There is a deck for lounging and a fire pit in the yard. There is also a charcoal grill; but the charcoal is not provided.
Feel free to walk the trails around our 220 acres, paddle a canoe or kayak in our lake, or spend time on our private beach.
Love Lake is a 10 acre, spring fed private lake and there are plenty of opportunities to fish from shore. To protect our population of native brook trout and walleyes we ask that you use only barbless, artificial lures and gently release all of our finned friends back into the lake to fight another day!
Please note, that during June, July and August we host Camp Luther's "Keweenaw Base Camp" program and at times our waterfront/beach area is reserved for their use. We will have signage up and will inform you of the beach schedule on your arrival. Keweenaw Base Camp groups arrive Sunday evening and depart Friday morning so the beach is available most weekends. During the week, they often spend time off property so the beach will be open at times during the week as well.
If you are coming up to ATV or snowmobile, we ask that you do not ride machines on the property. You can however ride them directly from the property to the trail, a short, legal ride on the roads to the Bill Nichols trail located about 2 miles away.

Enjoyed the stay and the surrounding area for Snowmobiling
Really nice cabins and nice area to stay for end of seasoning snowmobiling where there is still decent snow left on the trails. The hosts Michelle and Carl were very nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to stay close to Houghton and Hancock.
This cabin is perfect, brand new, cozy, spotless, well stocked. It is perfectly located to be private, yet only a ten minute drive to town, Michigan Tech and Mont Ripley. Also, about a 50 minute easy drive to Mount Bohemia. We visited in February and it was a cozy winter wonderland. A very unexpected treat was the arcade game with 18 vintage games - all the favorites! The owners are very responsive to any questions we had.
Nice clean cabin , very happy with all aspects
The cabin was well located , new , clean and very accommodating great stay
Beautiful surroundings and very private
Very nice cabin with two bedrooms, kitchen, dining and living area. Very clean. Everything you need was there except food. Enjoyed our visit even with the below zero weather and snow. Highly recommend it.
Great place to stay
This was a great place to stay. Very nice, clean, and had all the comforts of home. The old school video game in the corner was the icing on the cake. Will definitely look to go back.
Fantastic north country cabin
Very clean and brand new throughout. We were very happy with accommodations. The only things I would change is a few more hooks on the walls to hang snowmobile gear and a shelf rack to place our helmets.
