Very isolated large house with an annex for guests, consisting of just a narrow hallway, two double bedrooms with limited furniture and nicely appointed bathroom with a jet-tub and good sized show stall. The kitchen facilities (fridge, electric hob and a sink) are in a shed next to the garage, so you have to go outside, around the building to get to it.
A pleasant young lady showed me around on arrival but didn't explain anything like parking, access to the promised shared lounge, temperature control, or any local eateries, etc.
The beds were OK but not great. I kept wrapping my feet in the steel footboard all night and every spring clunked if you turned over. There were no hangers in either wardrobe, and no drawers in one of the rooms.
The shower was great: good flow and hot as you like. We didn't use the bath but it looked fine. After a day or so, though, we noticed water collecting on the bathroom floor like a small leak from the toilet and a smell of sewage became overpowering.
The host did ask if we'd like the heating on which was welcome. They did not however wash up dirty plates from the previous guests and it was still there five days later, at the end of our stay.
All in all, not terrible but a couple of coat hooks in the rooms and bathroom, a little more attention to cleanliness, and an invitation to sit in the porch might have been nice, along with a few local menus or recommendations. Also, note that the internet in the property is adequate but there is no phone signal in the area at all.
Would we stay again? Probably not, to be honest. We enjoyed our 5 days despite the problems. The owner is, however, having a very large addition to the property which will have more guest bedrooms, extra bathrooms, hot tubs and a snooker room, he said.
