Lovely apartment in the heart of historic Old Town, Alexandria. Easy and convenient walk to the waterfront, King Street and the Braddock Rd. Metro. This 1847 built, recently fully renovated English Basement apartment with your own off street front door entrance, has one large bedroom, super comfy, new KING size bed, living room for relaxing, brand new private bathroom with walk in shower, and kitchenette. Kitchenette comes with sink, microwave, Keurig coffee machine, french press, toaster and mini refrigerator. No cooktop and oven, but why would you want to cook when you are so close to fabulous King Street restaurants! You'll also have your own washer and dryer. Walkable score = 96. NO SMOKING:

No smokers please! If you are a smoker, this is not the good space for you to choose. I have severe sensitivity to smoke. There is absolutely no smoking inside my apartment and there is not a comfortable to sit and smoke immediately outside either.

SURROUNDING AREA:

Walking distance to great restaurants, King Street, two metro stops (Braddock Road and King Street), Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, and Water Taxis into National Harbor, Washington Harbor and Georgetown. Quick train or Uber to DCA and Washington DC.

ACCESSIBILITY:

There are six steps down to your front door entrance. Inside there are two steps down into the bedroom.

Also, please note that temperature control is controlled remotely. We recognize that "comfortable" is subjective. We do our best to seek just the right temperature. In the cooler months we have electric heaters for those who want it warmer.

CANCELLATION POLICY/TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Even the best laid plans can change, and that includes trips. Given the unpredictability of travel interruptions, such as, weather, family emergencies, sudden illness, natural disaster, etc., we highly recommend our guests purchase travel insurance or review any credit card benefits to protect their vacation investment. Most policies require that purchase be made within 48 hours of booking.  We are unable to make exceptions to our cancellation policy for events outside our control that do not impact the suitability of our dwelling, but happy to provide any documentation to support insurance claims.

The townhome provided excellent accommodations. It had all the required amenities, making us feel completely at home. We knew where everything was, and we lacked nothing! Apartment is clean and cozy with everything you could want. It is a basement but daylight windows in bedroom and one higher window in living room. Very quiet for sleeping and comfortable bed and cotton sheets and duvet. Easy walk to river, Trader Joe’s, and light rail. Neighborhood felt very safe to walk day and night.

The apartment was perfect. The location was within walking distance to the Metro and Old Town. Rebecca the host thought of everything you may want or need. Several examples - umbrellas by the door in case it rains, bottled water in the refg, snacks, K-Cups for the coffee maker, etc. If you are looking for a place to stay in the DC area this is it.

Everything you need for an enjoyable stay in Alexandria is provided in this residence. You can walk to most anything you need or want to see. Great little city

My wife and I had the pleasure to have 5 wonderful days at a great cozy apt in Alexandria Va. Our host Rebecca was great, had everything ready for our arrival, easy entry to Apt. cleanliness inside, beautiful and quiet neighborhood . We were close to the Metro, and King St. for great Restaurants, and shops.Trips to DC on Metro were so easy. We would definitely stay at Rebecca’s if we return to the area again. 5 stars

Amazing place!!!

If you’re going to Wash DC this is a great find. You’re in a very quiet neighborhood, short 9min walk to the metro (or you can take the bus), few blocks from the river area, few blocks King Street where tons of yummy food is. If you’re driving an EV the charging station is half a block away. Rebecca is a super great host and is there should you need anything. It got a bit chilly and she made sure we had everything to stay warm. The apartment is very well maintained and super clean. She even had most of the major streaming platforms for something before bed. I can’t say enough how great of a find this was :)

A home away from home

We couldn’t imagine a better place to stay for a day, a week or longer. It is very comfortable, it’s in a perfect Old Town location, and restaurants, historic locations and shops are within short walks. Rebecca is a wonderful host, and her thoughtful touches throughout the flat—well-placed nightlights, snacks and coffee, unique artwork—made us feel very welcome and at home. We would not hesitate to return.
