Exactly the beauty and solitude we were looking for.

This was a bittersweet trip for our family. A quietly loving remembrance of my late husband and the opportunity as a family to honor his wishes and return his ashes near to his mother's home in the Keewanaw. Our Host Mike was great. Genuine and friendly, he felt like someone who could have easily been an old friend. If you're a fisherman he might be the guy to seek out for advice. We didn't have any problems, but feel like it would have been easy to handle if we had.

The cabin is cozy, easily lends to feeling right at home, and is one we'll keep in mind when we have the opportunity to go North again. Close enough in proximity to head either further north to Copper Harbor, or west to the Porcupine Mountains for a day trip. Emily Lake, Misery Bay, Houghton/Hancock, Historic Calumet...lots to see and do up here.

We didn't have the pleasure of seeing moose this trip, but we did see fresh bear track, eagles, lots of sandhill cranes and chipmunks. Thanks for providing the perfect space for our family retreat and being the perfect hosts. Highly recommend.

Excellent stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is fantastic! My brother and I stayed here while brookie fishing in the area. The cabin is very nice. Very comfortable and peaceful. The walk down to the lake is a little steep, but worth it to get out in the canoe. If you plan to eat at the cabin, pick up some paper plates, etc....

Great space for a family. Only draw back is it is quite a hike down to the water and master bed is a full.

Charming cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at this adorable cabin in the woods. It combines the perfect blend of rustic cabin and any amenities you may want. The lake is just a short walk down the (steep) hill and the canoe was great for exploring the lake and fishing. The fire pit was all ready for us with a big stack of wood and chairs and we really enjoyed our selves. We would definitely rent this cabin again.
