About the property

Family Home on 200' of Lake Michigamme shoreline

Camp Pops-and-Beers rests on 200' of Lake Michigamme shoreline. This recently renovated home has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and boasts a large open living/kitchen/dining area floorplan with a fieldstone gas fireplace & floor to ceiling windows that overlook the expansive deck & lakefront.

Our 2015 renovation to the lower level adds a large family room area with ping pong table, movie watching and gaming area, as well as the 2nd bathroom and the 4th bedroom.

An easy to walk gravel trail will lead you through the trees down to the lakefront, where there's a large fire pit area steps away from the dock and beach/swim area. No noise or view of the highway here. The lake reaches 70 feet at it's deepest point. With 27 islands and 95 miles of shoreline this 4000+ acre lake is great for every summer or winter sport. A few of our favorites include: kayaking, wake boarding, water skiing, tubing, sailing, fishing, swimming, snow shoeing, snow mobiling, down hill skiing, ice fishing and sledding/tubing.

About Tammy

We are an active family of 4 from Wisconsin that loves the outdoors & searched throughout Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for over 6 years for the perfect lakefront property. In the fall of 2005 we found Camp Pops-and-Beers located on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigamme and fell in love. The cottage was a bit rustic to put it mildly, but the property was absolutely spectacular. After purchasing it in the fall of 2005 we finished the construction of our new cottage in the winter of 2007. When finally completed our dream of having a family vacation spot in the north woods had been realized. Needless to say we are absolutely in love with the outdoor surroundings and all the amenities our cottage offers.

Tammy purchased this house in 2007

Why Tammy chose Michigamme

The cottage is only 9 years old and had the lower level updated in the summer of 2015 to add a 2nd bathroom & 4th bedroom. The house has all the luxuries of home. It is private, giving you the feeling of being secluded in the woods, but is located centrally in the Upper Peninsula so if you just want to sit by the lake, watch the kids swim & enjoy a beautiful sunset you can or if you want to do a day trip to nearby Marquette or Houghton/Hancock and discover a great restaurant, take a glass bottom boat tour or hike to a waterfall you can do that too. The choices at Camp Pops-and-Beers are endless. If you can picture yourself and your family doing any of these things then this is the dream vacation destination for you.

What makes this house unique

Camp Pops-and-Beers gives you unlimited access to any outdoor activity you can imagine. In the summer enjoy swimming, water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, ATVing, & mountain biking. In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, snow shoeing, sledding, tubing, downhill or cross country skiing, & ice fishing.

Annual getaway was a success

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at different homes in the UP of Michigan for the last 6 years. This was one of our favorites. The home was suited for our group of 11 with plenty of space and things to do even when the weather wasn't so nice. Having the large kitchen, dining and living area made for great meals and game time together. The lake is great for kayaking and we did that each day but not so great for swimming for our teenagers. We also enjoyed the fire pit - who doesn't love smores and a sunset? Thanks again Tammy for allowing us to rent your home for the week.

Great time in the UP!

  • 4 of 5

What a lovely, well appointed home! Everything was as shown and described.

Owner was VERY responsive to all the questions I asked about the home itself, and she was more than happy to share her knowledge of the area, too.

Even more amazing? The one critique of the home I shared with her was the pillows, and she has ALREADY handled that. You can't ask for more responsive than that!

We will be back to the UP for sure!

Perfect relaxing family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The property was beautiful. Well maintained with lots of privacy. Indoor activities; movies, games, wii, ping pong made for lots of family time in the evenings or rainy days. Kayaks, campfire, fishing, swimming outdoor activities. Kitchen stocked with everything we needed.

A severe storm caused a power outage during our stay. I texted Tammy for information and she called to let me know that she had called the electric company and gave me an update for restoration.(was restored rather quickly). Called later to ensure all was okay. Very friendly and easy to deal with.

If our travels bring us back to this area will definitely stay again.

Thanks Tammy!

Beautiful Vacation Home on the lake.

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved this beautiful home in a private setting on the lake. The furnishing were very tasteful and was fully equiped with every thing we needed. We went fishing every day and had campfires by the water in the evening. I would highly recommend this home on Lake Michigamme in Michigan for your next get-a-way vacation.

Enjoyed the stay.

Nice spot on the lake. And plenty of games downstairs to keep you busy. The place was great. Just don't bother driving down the driveway if it's icy, though to get back up.
