This landmark, steeped in history, has been carefully preserved and adapted to meet the demands of the present day. Its restoration retains the allure of a bygone era while offering contemporary amenities for a truly unique experience. Situated strategically, The Picayune enjoys a prime location just three blocks away from the world-famous French Quarter. This proximity allows guests to easily immerse themselves in the exciting atmosphere, vibrant culture, and rich history of the neighborhood. The French Quarter's renowned restaurants, jazz clubs, and historic landmarks are mere steps away, ensuring that visitors can explore the essence of New Orleans with unparalleled convenience. Getting Around: Walking is the best way to get around in the downtown New Orleans area and when you get tired, rideshare (Uber/Lift/KrewCar) and taxis are generally readily available. Or hop on one of our famous streetcars to see two major routes throughout the city. The St. Charles Ave. streetcars are Green and head away from downtown on St. Charles Ave, into the Garden District, where you will see the beautifully maintained mansions, passing Loyola and Tulane Universities, Audubon Park, and the Audubon Zoo. Red Streetcars travel along Canal Blvd. from the Mississippi River out to City Park. The streetcars are cash only, unless you buy a pass. The Hop on Hop off tour buses circulate around some of the more popular areas of downtown and offer pickup every 30 minutes. The Algiers Ferry is a fun way to get across the river. It runs from Canal Street to Algiers throughout the day. Algiers is small and very walkable. Enjoy a quick bite to eat or just enjoy walking through the historic houses.
Bicycle rentals are also a great way to get around and can be rented from various locations throughout downtown. There are bike rental options like Blue Bike with multiple locations throughout the city and tour companies that have guided bike tours.

There are various public parking garages, parking lots and street parking available for a fee. Access to this condo will not be permitted until the contract is signed and the Government issued Photo ID of the primary renter is received by VacayNOLA. Non smoking property. Evidence of smoking will incur a fine. No pets, parties, or large gathering events allowed.

Weekend in New Orleans
We loved our stay here! Perfect distance from everything: restaurants, bars, shops, and casino. Our condo was very spacious and clean and served as the perfect weekend away for me and my parents!

Perfect condo for the weekend! Great location!
We really enjoyed New Orleans and staying at this property. It was in a perfect location and walking distance to almost all of the attractions we wanted to see. It was clean and the decor was on point seeing that it was the original location of the Picayune Times. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Jessi and friends for the 5 Star Review. We so enjoyed hosting you in New Orleans, after Mardi Gras 2023. We cannot relay what the perfect location this building is to all that downtown has to offer in the way of sights, sounds and FOOD!
We actually had a lot of fun using the found old and original newspapers in the building to use throughout the condos for each one to be "themed" a different section of the paper. Not sure if you really looked at those framed old photographs in the elevator lobby on the second floor, but that huge block of granite is still up there, but we guess the eagle flew or blew off in one of the hurricanes from years past.

Ideal condo in walking distance to everything!
The condo was quite spacious and had great character with the exposed brick walls. Short-ish walk to French Quarter yet removed enough from the chaos of Bourbon Street. Would stay here again.

The location of this condo is 3 blocks outside of the French Quarter so, yes, it away from the 24 hours of chaos, that can happen on large citywide events. If you have never been to New Orleans for Halloween, it truly is an unforgettable experience. Glad you could mark that off the bucket list.

Nice place in a good location. Clean, spacious, comfortable beds. The property management is great - provide a lot of useful information and respond to questions quickly. I highly recommend this place.

Thank you Jessica for staying in "The Picayune Building" the original location of the "Times-Picayune Newspaper" from the 1880's to 1969.
We had so much fun working with the condo owners on our "themes" in choosing items and based on different sections from the newspaper. All of those framed newspaper prints were found in the basement as well at those photographs of the building in the elevator lobby, there in the second floor. That huge granite block as the keystone at the top of the building is still up there, but sadly the eagle must have blown away during a hurricane from decades ago.
We want you to have fun in our beloved city and offer many suggestions or ideas on how to experience adventures in and around the greater New Orleans area; food, attractions, drinks, adventures and did we mention food?

A great stay
Property was exactly as advertised. Comfortable beds and enough seating in the living are for our party of four adults. Great location for walkability. Great communication with the hosts. Would definitely recommend.

A few years ago there were bad reviews about the beds and now that they have these new memory foam mattresses, everybody just loves them and how comfortable they are. Good beds are important for getting as much sleep as you can here, I mean, there is so much to do, see, go and eat, who needs sleep anyway!
We cannot express what a perfect location The Picayune Building is to all of downtown New Orleans and how important walking is oh so easy to get around here.

Great location in the French Quarter
Awesome location right near canal and bourbon street, but still quiet! Only complaint was that the WiFi was awful and the AC was super loud and we weren’t able to adjust the volume or temperature during our stay.

Thank you Anne for taking your time to let us know you had a great time in New Orleans. This is a wonderful location when exploring the City, close to French Quarter, Museums, Art Galleries, Antique and Speciality shopping, yet quiet for relaxing for the next day's adventures.
There is a thermostat in each condo, so you can control the temperatures. I wish you would have called, we could have either talked you through changing the settings or come to change it for you. Yes, sometimes the WiFi signal may not be as strong as you get at home. There are signal boosters plugged into various areas of the condo and should they get unplugged, it will cut signals in half. Please, call us when you experience issues like these. We have someone on call for our guests. VacayNOLA!

Modern and very clean. Felt very safe at night. Walking distance to French Quarter as well as all the surrounding restaurants just a few blocks away like Mothers and Luke's and many many more...Overall just a great place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was clean and nicely decorated. Great location for walking to nearby shops and restaurants. The only downside is paying for parking, but that’s typical of stays in the city. I highly recommend this property and I would stay here again.

So glad you had an enjoyable stay in New Orleans and to finally have one of our favorite music festivals back on again, after the 2 year hiatus. It truly is the best location for all that New Orleans has to offer, for all the sights, attractions, shopping and foods that are plentiful here.
True, there is no associated parking with this building, built in the 1880's, so we have no control over the pricing that those off site pay parking garages or open lots have, but at least, one garage is directly across the Camp Street for convenience.
A special thank you for mentioning how hard our housekeeping staff works to make sure all of our condos in the building are clean and comfortable for each guest.
