This two bedroom one bath cabin is a personal favorite of the management company's. It is well decorated, fully equipped and has a very good view of the lake from the 10'x30' screened porch.

The single level ranch cabin is off a private drive and away from any traffic. Lakefront quiet cozy peacefulness is our main offering. The large nearly level lot provides easy access.

The cozy living room features Broad Band & WiFi internet modems, a combination cable TV-VCR-DVD and gas log fireplace. The screened porch is especially inviting.

A few steps through mature pines take you to Lake Hartwell and your private boat dock with a swim ladder. The dock is always in deep water. Tie up your boat or fish right off the dock. (You may fish anywhere on Lake Hartwell with either a Georgia or South Carolina fishing license).

Convenient to the Tugaloo State Park Fishing Tournament Ramp. Also near Holcomb Access Ramp in Martin, GA this home is on a quiet cove with direct access and a gorgeous view of the main lake.

Located about 2 mile from the Bruce Creek Fishing Park and launch ramp.

Bedrooms each have King beds with newer mattresses and the living room has a new full size sleeper sofa.

In 1993, along with my wife, I left my Engineering Position with a company in the NorthEast Atlanta area and moved to the Lake Hartwell area where we began "MOUNTAIN LAKES VACATION RENTALS". The cheese has been moving constantly snce then. The Engineering background has enabled us to keep up with these changes.


We have been fortunate to be able to find quality employees who all live on or near Lake Hartwell. We have developed our own Web Site and also a Smart Phone friendly web site. We now list our rentals on several commercial sites such as VRBO and as well as working closely with local Chambers and both the Georgia and South Carolina tourism agencies.

Some agencies and/or owners have an extra charge for just about everything. Some even charge extra to furnish linens. With Mountain Lakes there are NO hidden mandatory charges.



Should you arrive and find that the home you chose it is not right for you FOR ANY REASON, we will arrange for you to transfer to another available home with no moving charges. All we ask is that you call us within 2 hours of your arrival.

What makes this cabin unique


Most rentals 'By Owner' add a cleaning fee of $50-$150, with Mountain Lakes the cleaning is always included in the published price.


EXTRA FEES: We have NO automatic mandatory charges.

PETS: In many of our houses (But not all) you have the option of bringing along your pet. We do charge extra for pets. Generally the charge is $75 per pet plus tax. Pets are usually limited to two per house. Be sure to inquire about bringing pets to the house you are renting. AND please be sure to tell us that you are bringing a pet when you make the reservation.

GARBAGE: We ask that you take your trash out when you leave. For many of our guests, it is routine to throw their trash bags in their boat when they are leaving the lake. If this is not convenient for you, feel free to leave the trash bags for the maid to take. If you do so, we ask that you leave the maid a suggested tip of $5 per bag.



Both GA & SC place the burden of paying Sales and Accommodations Taxes on the consumer, whether or not these taxes are collected by the Cabin Owner. We collect and pay these taxes so you don't have to. Taxes range from 7% to 12% depending on location and are INCLUDED in our posted rate. You will never get a bill “Out of the blue” for unpaid taxes on our rentals.

Not as advertised. Not interested in making it right once they had our money

Dangerously misleading! Then absolutely no effort was made to help us find a replacement cabin with the one thing we absolutely needed - the advertised "accessibility". Neither the rental company, Mountain Lakes, nor the remote owner stood by the VRBO warrantee to find a replacement that met our needs for wheelchair/walker accessibility. My 89-year old dad and I selected this cabin so he could get to the lake and dock, enjoy the fireplace, and sit on the porch. The lake is down a long, muddy, bumpy, root-filled slope. The gas log never worked even after multiple "repairs". Worst of all, my poor dad could not make it safely to the toilet, shower and bed (I'll spare you the details, but very humiliating for both of us).

If they had tried to help us find a truly accessible place, they would have won me over, but they acted like "accessibility" was a luxury, rather than a basic safety issue. We rented for 10 days, so you'd think they would help, but apparently they are only interested in collecting as much money as they can by whatever dishonest way they can. Looking at all the Mountain Lakes rentals, it seems they make all their properties sound accessible.

Assuming accessibility is not a concern for you (lucky you), our impressions of the rest of the cabin was so-so. I really disliked the amount of ants and cockroaches inside in November. It didn't have a homey or even a clean feel. We had to move some chairs so dad could get to the couch, and the rug underneath was dusty/dirty. The 13 throw rugs apparently were there to cover staining. All these we were disappointing, but not deal-breakers.

If you're thinking of renting the property, I'd be beware. You can't make up for a rental where the owner is not interested in making the important things right, especially when it was their mistake. You're just stuck because they have your money and you can't afford to do anything else. You save up for a nice vacation - and the whole time you worry that your dad will have an accident. You worry that this will be the last time dad is able to take a vacation and sit by the fire or fish from the dock. Heartsick!

This property was advertised as handicap accessible and the description was filled with words like "gentle slope". However, there is no way this is accessible for someone using a walker or wheelchair. Many aisles were only 12 to 18-inches wide, including the one to get to the toilet as well as the access to the shower and bed.

Small but meets the needs

We had 4 adults and a child and stayed for just 3 nights. While the place is on the smaller side it met our needs perfectly! We couldn't beat the price for something on the water! Definitely would recommend staying for small
