It was a new and fun experience for my friend and me to stay on a 35-ft sailboat docked in a marina in Barcelona. It’s within walking distance of several restaurants, a mall, and the metro. I slept well with the gentle rocking of the boat on the water. Check-in was very easy and Martin is a wonderful host who made sure that things went well for us. If you’re into “glamping,” this probably isn’t the thing for you because you won’t have a spacious shower or roomy kitchen. But if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live on a sailboat, this is a great way to find out!

Unique stay in Barcelona

It was a unique stay in Barcelona.. Vanessa was very helpful with my last-minute reservation and late check-in. Communication was perfect, and check in was very smooth. The boat is fully equipped, and the Internet is working well. I could work from the deck, looking into the port, which was a great experience. Port itself is safe and its facilities (toilets and showers) are very close and working well. The Marina is calm and quiet at night. I Can totally recommend this alternative way of accommodation and will definitely come back.

This was the worst stay ever. We did not know when we reserved, but it was apparently illegal to stay there. We were advised not to tell any officials why we were there. The owner's agent collected the daily Barcelona tax and I suspect pocketed it.There was a " toilet", but usable only for urine. To defecate we had to go to a toilet on the dock. The "shower" was a hand held sprayer attached to the bathroom sink, that produced no hot water. The "washer and dryer" were not on board and the ones on the dock were closed. The "fully equipped kitchen" consisted of a hot plate, microwave and a dorm fridge that had no ice. We can deal with misrepresentation, but the deal breaker was that the place was infested with BEDBUGS.Our final day, the police awakened us--they were shouting at the boat next door. We left as soon as we could pack.

We are extremely disappointed by this review, which is not only misleading but completely false. We have been operating legally and transparently in Barcelona for nearly 10 years and have hosted thousands of satisfied guests. We take pride in our service and reputation, and we will not accept baseless accusations meant to damage our business. It is unfortunate that some individuals attempt to use false reviews and exaggerated claims to obtain refunds or free stays. This behavior is dishonest and unacceptable. We stand by our listing, our service, and our long-standing record of satisfied guests. Legal Operation & City Tax: Our operation is fully legal. Guests can either pay the Barcelona tourist tax through the platform or directly — this is standard practice and clearly explained. There is absolutely no "pocketing" involved, and such accusations are defamatory. Toilet & Shower: Our listing clearly states that the boat has a marine toilet, which is typical on boats and intended for urination only — nothing has ever been hidden. The shower is also listed accurately, and the presence of hot water depends on following basic instructions provided at check-in. Washer & Dryer: We have never advertised that a washer and dryer are on the boat. We clarified that shared laundry facilities are available at the marina, but we are not responsible if they were temporarily unavailable due to marina maintenance, which is completely out of our control. Kitchen Equipment: The kitchen is exactly as described — equipped with a hot plate, microwave, and refrigerator. This is a boat, not a hotel suite, and everything matches the listing. Bedbugs Claim: We have never had any report or confirmation of bedbugs in nearly a decade of hosting. This is a very serious and false accusation. Our boat is professionally cleaned and inspected regularly. If this guest truly experienced an issue, they never reported it during their stay. Making such claims after the fact without any proof is highly suspicious. Police Presence: The police were dealing with another vessel in the marina, not ours. Implying otherwise is another attempt to sensationalize the review.
