The 3 Bears Cabin- an Adirondack Adventure

Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Located ten minutes from the skiing at Whiteface Mt. and twenty-five minutes to the tourist attractions of Lake Placid, The 3 Bears Cabin, is a tranquil getaway location that is surrounded by as much excitement as you would wish to explore.

The 3 Bears Cabin is set in the solitude of the pine trees, yet is easily accessible, and a destination for family and friends. The Cabin is constructed using traditional post and beam craftsmanship where particular attention was paid to maintaining an airtight and draft free environment. The all-wood interior will surround you with a warm and comfortable feeling that can only be experienced in a home that is constructed in the post and beam fashion.

The main floor features cathedral-ceilings, and an open kitchen floor plan allows guests to interact while cooking and dining.

When it is time to retire for the evening, The 3 Bears Cabin will accommodate 6 guests and well trained dogs.

The cabin features two downstairs bedrooms, each with massive cedar mortise and tenon, queen-sized beds. The beds were crafted in the rustic tradition but the subtle pillow-top mattress will certainly soothe your tired muscles and ensure a restful night's sleep.

If one is looking to accommodate additional guests there is a comfortable queen-sized futon, with extra thick mattress, situated in front of the glass-fronted wood stove. Though the guests who choose to sleep on the futon will not have a traditional bed, they will however, have the experience of falling asleep in front of the fireplace while gazing up into the beautiful post and beam rafters.

The 3 Bears Cabin also has a full bath on each floor where one can take a hot shower and prepare for the adventures right at your doorstep.

cozy cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

we loved our stay at 3 bears cabin! As billed, it was clean and easy to find. It felt off the beaten path but also really close to ausable forks and the Tops there for quick food shopping needs. The fire burning stove was wonderful, even though it was unseasonably warm we had a fire every night. Lots of dogs in the neighborhood that roam off leash, but they were friendly to our dog when we were out walking. We would consider staying again and wished we had more time there during our recent stay.

great stay in the mountains

  • 4 of 5

Everything you need for a great stay, away from it all, in the mountains. My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights on our way back from the midwest. A short drive to Lake Placid or Ausable Chasm, so it's convenient to the attractions in the area but not in the middle of it all. Very clean, very comfortable, very cozy w/individual thermostats in each room. Everything you need is provided. Bring some coffee for the Mr. Coffee and enjoy the woods! FYI -the bedrooms are on the lower level so you'll need to be ok with stairs.

Quiet cabin in the woods, would return

  • 4 of 5

My 2 teenage boys, wife and myself stayed a week at the cabin and were very happy. The two bedrooms were very comfortable and my oldest son said the futon was comfortable as well. Everything worked well and there were adequate cooking and eating utensils and everything was clean. The cabin is about 30 minutes from Lake Placid and less to many of the Olympic venues. There are MANY trailheads nearby if hiking or fishing are what you are looking for.

Excellent Visit!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit to the 3 Bears Cabin July 21 - 24, 2017. The cabin was located in a beautiful, quiet setting about 30 minutes from the Lake Placid Ironman site. Check in and check out were easy and the cabin was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we thank you for your hospitality.

Great cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved this comfortable cabin for our long weekend getaway. 2 Nice bedrooms with queen beds easily sleeps 4. Futon in main room could stretch it to 6, but it would be tight. 2 bathrooms, one upstairs and one down means no one has to wait. About 30 min or less to Lake Placid, High Falls, Ausable Chasm, Whitface mountain and many hiking trail heads. Cabin has everything you need including outdoor fire pit out back with wood, kindling and lawn chairs in the shed. Clean and well stocked kitchen just lacks a dishwasher, but that is the only 'roughing it' you have to do. Wrap around porch with gas grill make outdoor cooking and eating easy. Quiet and restful. No cell service for our ATT phones, but the included wifi worked great.
