About Rick

My wife Sue and I moved into the Adirondacks in 2002 after living on the shores of Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, NY for 10 years. Not a bad place to live at all but it was time for a change. We fell in love with the Adirondacks, and specifically 'Ausable Acres' on our first visit. You will too. It is quiet, wooded with wildlife everywhere.

Rick purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Rick chose Jay

We purchased the undeveloped lot in 2004 and completed our log home in 2006. We are very proud of ourselves :) We take great satisfaction in the complements we get from our most wonderful past guests.

What makes this cabin unique

The Cayuga Cabin is completely furnished. The kitchen is equipped with all pots, pans, utensils right down to coffee filters and dish-washing detergent. All linens and towels are provided as is toilet paper, paper towel and tissues along with bottled hand soap. There is a washer & dryer and detergent in the 2nd bathroom. All you need to bring are clothes & food! We also have an outdoor shower and provide wood for the woodstove and outdoor firepit.

Beautiful cabin located nestled in the woods. Perfect place for a family of four.

Couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. It's not the Ritz Carlton... Which was just what I was looking for. Off the beaten path, away from everything, access to the river, and very comfortable. Breathtaking nature. Very pleased with the experience.

Nice secluded place in the woods.

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed all the furnishings and amenities that come with this nice modern cabin. Liked having linens and towels with washer/dryer too. Ceiling fans kept us comfortable on the hottest of nights in the absence of a/c, although the website said there was air conditioning. Loved the chairs on the deck.

Owner's Response: Hey Kendall, Glad you enjoyed yourself. Question.. Where did you see air conditioning? To my knowledge I have never stated that we had it. If you could tell me where I would greatly appreciate it. Hope you are well. Hope to see you again. Rick

Excellent cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 (youngest age 13) stayed for 2 nights. The cabin was clean and fresh. We love wood walls so the entire cabin was a hit. The kids loved the loft. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to use the fire pit (it looked great) or the whirlpool tub. The air around the cabin smelled amazing. It is totally surrounded by woods and we enjoyed the morning bird songs while we had our coffee of the deck.

We had a few questions during and after our stay (we lost a pair of headphones and were wondering if they were there). Rick was very responsive and friendly. We would rent here again.

Wonderful long weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, clean, and very welcoming! This place has all the comforts of home- you literally only have to bring food and clothes! Our kids especially loved the loft area bedroom as their own little hang out spot. Close to lots of fishing spots. We had a great time. Thanks Rick and family!
