Pura Vida! We had the most wonderful stay at Casa blaca. The house was everything we wanted for our anniversary getaway. The patio and hammock were the highlight of our time spent outdoors...it was right from the patio that we were able to watch the Howlers, dart frogs, Agoti, hummingbirds and parrots....We even spotted a sloth on the backyard beach treetops. This home brought us to the enchanted forest and the coral reef all within steps of this beautiful home. The glass windows all around really give you the feel that you are living in luxury while seeing the beauty of the outdoors. I highly recommend this home for a private couple getaway or a family retreat. I fell in love with this place the day we arrived. (Ps: we got engaged on the backyard beach, during our stay Pura Vida !

Thank you for sharing your incredible home. It was exactly as pictured. One of the highlights of our incredible stay in Costa Rica was spending hours each day encountering new animals in our own back yard, including a troop of howler monkeys and a sloth. The hammock naps were exceptional, as well.

We loved loved loved loved this house! What's better than glass walls in the jungle?? Right on the beach and can walk anywhere in Puerto Viejo. Easy check in and very clean. We had monkeys in the trees the first morning!! Can't wait to come back.

This is a beautiful beachside house with private beach access and a generous porch on two sides. The main house has two air-conditioned bedrooms, plus a little A-frame guest house that serves as the third bedroom (not air-conditioned). It's walking distance to the center of Puerto Viejo, a stone's throw from the bakery, and just across the street from Jungle Spa, which is terrific. We used this house as our home base for afternoon outings to Cahuita and Bribri. One tip: if you book this property on VRBO, ask the owner for the more detailed house instructions in PDF form — you'll need them to enter the property. Overall, a great home base for exploring this stretch of the Caribbean coast.

Fabulous

The house was great. The wrap around porch was great. You can walk to the beach and to town on a beautiful trail with sloths and monkeys. We would recommend this home to everyone.

Beautiful grounds and walking distance to town. The gas burners on the stove did not work very well, maybe the gas was running out. And the coffee pot took a long time to brew.

THIS HOUSE! This glass house is ideally situated between the edge of Puerto Viejo and Playa Cocles. A better location does not exist. There is a small hotel on one side, but you wouldn’t know it, and the other side of the property is forest. The back gate opens up to the public coastal path and a shaded beach with reef. A short walk down the trail and around a cliff is beautiful Playa Cocles, with surfing, food spots, volleyball, slackline, and vibes. The owner and property manager are very responsive. 10/10 would stay again.

Just proceed with some caution

After a lovely stay in this property, it finished with much shock, upset and sadness following the host charging us an extra 300 on our day of departure and making certain accusations. Something we have never ever experienced before. Suffice to say, I personally don't believe it appropriate to use this medium to respond with our assessment of the host, post pictures or trade arguments, other than to say we are a family who treated this property with upmost respect and left it clean and tidy. Should you book here, please be aware of the potential for such a situation arising again. I note there is another review some time ago, describing similar behaviour from this host. If you are willing to take the risk, you will enjoy this property as many other reviews have stated. Hence, my overall fair rating of the entire stay.
