The cabin itself is located right off the parkway and very close to restaurants, grocery, attractions, etc. When we checked in, we let the owner know the bedroom remote was missing, some of the outlets needed attention, and there were scratches on the doors. The owners were very responsive and said they would have housekeeping address the issues. Fast forward to our last day. It rained hard all day. We planned to go out and explore some of the inside activities the area had to offer. I went in the downstairs bathroom and realized there was water coming through the ceiling. I went up to check the upstairs bathroom, more water coming through the roof. We gathered towels, pots, pans, bowls and tried to contain as much water as possible. I immediately notified the owner who was very appreciative and said they would have maintenance fix after our stay. Here's where everything goes south. With the amount of water coming in, we couldn't just leave the cabin and assume the bowls and pots would contain the water. We stayed and throughout the day emptied the water and dried towels so we could get up more water. After checkout, I sent a text to the owners letting them know we were leaving the bowls and towels in place so that maintenance would know where the water was coming from. I also asked for a partial last day refund as I felt the day was spent caring for the cottage not enjoying my vacation. Absolutely no response. A very disappointing way to end vacation.
