MAR LA VIE: ¡Ubicación! ¡Ubicación! ¡Ubicación! Esta clásica casa de playa con paredes de cedro se encuentra a cinco casas (200 pies) de la playa y está tan cerca de la bahía. Se encuentra en una cuadra corta con algunas otras casas, lo que le brinda una experiencia de playa completamente privada. La casa se encuentra a poca distancia de maravillosos restaurantes, cafeterías, heladerías, mercados, y más, y ha sido recientemente renovada tanto por dentro como por fuera. Cuenta con una nueva cocina completamente equipada con electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable y dos baños completos nuevos. Hay un dormitorio con una cama queen y un baño completo contiguo en el piso principal; arriba hay tres dormitorios más (dos con camas queen, uno con dos juegos de literas). Colchones de alta calidad fueron comprados recientemente. La casa tiene un porche delantero encantador y un patio trasero espacioso (y completamente privado) con patio, parrilla de gas y ducha exterior nueva. El patio está bellamente ajardinado y cuenta con una mesa de comedor y muebles de patio (con nuevos cojines personalizados), cobertizo nuevo con sillas de playa, tablas de surf, juguetes de playa y toallas. El propietario escribe para la revista HGTV y se ha esforzado por hacer que esta casa se sienta como un hogar para inquilinos. Perfect house in the perfect location

This charming, tasteful historic bungalow is on a quiet block just a few houses from the ocean, within sight of the bay and an easy walk to the market, coffee and ice cream shops and several good restaurants. We have decades of experience renting on LBI and this house is our hands down favorite--the beadboard walls and ceilings give the home unique character while its updated kitchens and baths are fully modern. The house is comfortable, well-organized and beautifully furnished. Colleen and Marc have thoughtfully equipped it with everything from beach towels(!) to potted herbs on the back porch. The well-tended backyard garden is serene and private. The screen porch in front is unbeatable for coffee on a summer morning. A gem.

Great house

Super cute house in a great location. Host was quick with communication and the house had all the amenities one would need for a beach vacation- we loved the screened in porch.

Perfect Family Vacation!

We spent two weeks here and had an amazing time! The house is so cozy and beautifully decorated. Every single thing you need to enjoy the beach and the backyard is in the shed, from boogie boards to cornhole to coolers and more! The beach is a stone's throw away and my kids crabbed for hours on the public dock directly across the boulevard. The teenagers used the LBI shuttle to Bay Village and my husband and I spent hours sitting on the screened in front porch. The owners of this house are so wonderful and were accessible at all times. The house is so well maintained and we didn't lack for a thing during our stay. I highly recommend this property and can't wait to go back again!

Lovely home in Harvey Cedars!

Our family of five (plus Grandma) enjoyed a fabulous week at this picture perfect home in Harvey Cedars. The house was immaculate, well-stocked with both basic necessities as well as additional comfort items that made our stay even more pleasurable. We enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen several nights, and also took advantage of the great restaurants within walking distance. The beach was sublime- never crowded and just steps away. Spent every morning drinking coffee on the front screened in porch and every evening playing cornhole in the backyard. The owners were incredibly welcoming and available. We can't wait to return!

One complaint

Property was well equipped except for broiler pan. Major complaint was stove with only 2 working burners. Not what one would expect. Owner said would be repaired. Didn’t happen.

Old Island Charm + Modern Amenities

My family and I have frequented Harvey Cedars for years, and I concur with the other reviewers of this property. You really couldn't ask for a nicer home that is merely a stone's throw to the beach, bay, shops and restaurants. You will feel at home from the moment you arrive, and appreciate the love and creativity the owner has infused into the thoughtful restoration of this property. Just love the front porch for a.m. coffee, and the back yard for gathering as a family in the evening and all the activities in between. As an aside, please note that if you head to Harvey Cedars many of the businesses do not accept credit cards.

Beautiful House! Perfect Location!

We absolutely loved our stay at Sea La Vie! The location couldn't have been any better. Just a stones throw away from the beach and a block from the bay. There are lots of great restaurants close by and a general store in walking distance for any little necessity you might require. It was our very first time staying on LBI and we really loved being in Harvey Cedars. There is a very local feel and it's nice and quiet, yet you can travel down the island for lots of activity. The house couldn't have been any better. Plenty of room for everyone, indoor and outdoor. It's clean, well supplied, well decorated and airconditioned! We loved it!

Lovely! Perfect!

We had such a perfect week here in 2016 and hope to be repeat renters for years to come. The owners have remodeled and furnished the house beautifully, we were as comfortable as could be. The beach and bay are steps away, and you can walk to restaurants and shops. One of my favorite things about the house are the lovely outdoor spaces. Between the screened front porch and the roomy backyard patio and dining space, there is plenty of space to enjoy your vacation indoors or outdoors. We look forward to coming back over and over again, thank you!

A Dream Come True

My family and I stayed in the summer of 2016. To say it was the ideal vacation would be an understatement. The location is perfect with the beach only steps away and the bay across the street. From sunset to sunrise, every way you turn, it is beautiful. This is the quiet side of the island and a short drive to the lighthouse (worth seeing!). So many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The walk to access the beach makes you feel like you're somewhere more exotic than NJ. The neighbors are friendly and the beach is uncrowded and clean. Everything needed has been thought of as far as accommodations at the house. You know how when you are nearly done with your vacation, you're ready to go home....? That will NOT happen during your stay here! My only regret writing this review.... is now the secret is out! A perfect vacation destination!

Home away from home

Our family has vacationed in Harvey Cedars many times and we love it. It's everyone's favorite trip and we used to find ourselves wishing we had our own beach house - until we stayed here. We are repeat renters at Sea La Vie and we really feel like it is our beach house when we are there. It is unlike any other rental. It's beautifully decorated, charming and so comfortable and it has everything you could possibly need or want. The location is unbeatable, beach side and only one block from the bay with amazing sunsets, across the street from Black Eyed Susan's (best restaurant on the island) and a quick walk to the other restaurants and shops. The beach is quite and has life guards and is extra fun when you bring along the boogie boards and beach toys from the shed! My son has spent countless hours on their skim board. Even if it rains the day is not lost because there are puzzles and games to play on the big wood table, a comfy couch with pillows and blankets next to a table full of great books and a wonderful porch for just relaxing. This home is well cared for with attention to every detail. We can hardly wait to go back next summer!

We loved our vacation at this beautiful beach house. There were 4 adults and 5 kids and we had plenty of space for all of us. The location was ideal for the beach and bay (one block to both) and walking distance to restaurants and markets. We loved that the kids didn't have to cross the street to go to the beach and that the house had beach chairs, bikes, and kayaks for our use. The home is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is completely equipped with everything you need. It felt like we were at home instead of a rental. We enjoyed the backyard and ate all meals outside. Christina was great to work with, answered all our questions, and returned our deposit very promptly. LBI is charming and not crowded at all. There is a lot of traffic arriving on Saturday, but I imagine this is the case everywhere in the summer at the Jersey Shore. We highly recommend this rental.

Fabulous

If I had to choose one word to describe this beach house, it would be PERFECT!! Our stay was just the best. Everything was as described or better. The photos don't do this house justice. The location cannot be beat; so close to beach, bay, restaurants, bike riding. I could live in this house year round. It is so simple and tasteful. It's really what a rental should be.The kids were all happy, from the legos, to the games, dvd's, bunk beds. The grill was great, the outside shower, the old house charm. I can go on and on but I'll stop and just say, GO, you will be glad you did. Oh, and I brought my dog along and he loved it too. The screened in porch was perfect. Thank you, we'll be back.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience

Perfect location on a quiet dead end street, my group of 8 were immediately thrilled as the house was merely steps from the dunes and beach entrance. The recently renovated house has everything that could possibly be needed, with simple and clear instructions for everything. The house is extremely well appointed, but does not beat you over the head with high design. Comfortable, clean and a great location, it doesn't get much better.Washer & dryer, great back yard with picnic table and gril, shed full of goodies to boot! we walked to restaurants, and more importantly a great little liquor store. Beach was never crowded and everyone was thrilled overall. great vacation!

This home is everything needed for a true LBI Vacation. Great renovation, comfortable accommodations, everything is updated, clean, and well appointed. Easy Walking to both the bay and the beach. Back yard is private, neighbors were great people too. Will be returning. Thank You for sharing a true home, NOT a "rental property"!

Ideal House for Active Family

My family spent a fabulous week at this house. There were 8 of us ranging in age from 1 to 60! The house has been beautifully restored --- marvelous kitchen leading out to the terrific back area --- perfect for playing games and cooking out. And we spent many mornings on the screened in front porch. There is a outdoor shed filled with all sorts of equipment --- from the beach to roads (bikes) which we thoroughly enjoyed. There are boogie boards, umbrellas, beach toys as well as footballs and frisbees. Anything you could want. Oh, and did I mention kayaks! The house is ideally located in Harvey Cedars within walking distance of not only the wide, wide beach but also a number of restaurants, stores, gas stations. Also we could walk over to the bay easily and watch the sunset in the evenings. We hardly got in the car at all although we did make it to Barnegat Lighthouse and went up to the top for the glorious views. We cannot wait to get back in 2013. Everyone is talking about what we will do this year and making plans. We will hope for great weather again. One final word: working with the owner is very easy and satisfying. Completely responsive to questions and thorough with all necessary details.

LBI Charm

Our family stayed here for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the charm and character of this classic beach house. Lots of old LBI atmosphere with many upgrades and amenities. The house is dog friendly without any evidence of other dogs having been in the house (no hair, dander etc). The kitchen and living room are in an open living space that is great for communal chatter while preparing meals. The house was very clean upon arrival and the owners were available for any questions. The owners were also very easy to work with during the planning & reservation phase. We will definitely want to come back for a longer stay.

Our family purchased this classic beach house after having our eyes on it for years. We were so excited when it came on the market and now we enjoy sharing this incredibly special property with our tenants. Our primary residence is in northern New Jersey but we spend a good part of our summer on Long Beach Island in a fisherman's cottage in Surf City.

You can't beat the location—the house is on a private lot but walking distance to everything. It's located on one of the narrowest parts of the island (yes, we get white knuckles during hurricane season!).

Builders and contractors have knocked down many of the historic homes on the island. Luckily, Sea La Vie has avoided their bulldozers and has been restored to all of its original glory. Sit on the porch, drink your morning coffee, and imagine all those before you who have done the same.
