Exceptional Stay At The Deerpath in St Germain, WI!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our team had another wonderful stay in the Deerpath from 1/16-1/23/23 with 26 different attendees - 11 riders from 1/16-1/19 and 15 new race fans from 1/19-1/23. Everything was perfect from the reservations being made to the final payment! The Deerpath was clean and the bedding change on Friday was very well executed. We always had hot water for showers and the heating temp was right on. I have no concerns whatsoever. The only suggestion would be for the Deerpath owner to renovate the two main floor bathrooms - they are original but still work OK. The Hiller staff is awesome to work with.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were in a new location this year, the Deer Path, since someone(I)forgot to reserve the cabin we were in the last 10 years! It turned out to be a great mistake and we have rebooked for next year. As always, the fishing was great as was the biking and kayaking. The Deer Path is a hidden gem for those looking to rent, with 13 (!) beds! It is well kept and met all our needs.

Overall good would be if some hand and bath towels were provided for the price. Parking wasn’t explained to us so we had to move and thought it would be nice to have use of the garage if we needed to work on sleds. Would like to be notified if we could check in early if the property is cleaned and ready.

AWESOME Stay at the DEERPATH!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our one week stay at the Deerpath was excellent. The place was clean, the furnace heat was spot on, the new kitchen appliances worked very well for several home cooked meals, 13 beds really works, the Hiller staff was great to work with as always, etc. Now if we can convince the home owner to renovate the two mail level bathrooms, we'll be even happier. The BR's are certainly functional with good water pressure but the appearance should be improved. BEN

Winter Wonderland

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is located perfectly for our group of 12. Plenty of room and many more beds that could be used and 3 bathroom. We are a mostly a snowmobiling group but some do not so it allows easy access for entertainment across the road at Timber’s or easily located to drive and meet the rest while they are riding. It has beautiful views in the woods behind it of deer playing and eating.

Deerpath cottage

Reviewer Comments: My family absolutely loves this part of the state and the location was good. The Deerpath cottage desperately needs work! The inside of the fridge leaks a lot of water, there was no control for the air conditioner, out of date showers/shower heads upstairs, microwave didn't heat, oven didn't work, downstairs is musty despite the dehumidifier and that had to be dumped out continuously, no fire pit available until the last night, patio doors are really hard to slide. We called management to fix the oven and they never showed up. Making reservations, paying and the lady on the phone were nice to deal with, the rest was awful. Sorry to say for such a nice looking place.

Property needs repairs and updating

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our large extended family has stayed several years at the Deerpath at Elbert's resort. I am sorry to say that this property is in need of serious repairs. The most disturbing part is the basement which has 2 bedrooms (6 beds) it reeks of mold and smells disgusting. In fact we discovered behind furniture mold was actually present. These 2 bedrooms were essentially unusable by us for health and safety reasons. A dehumidifier was present in the basement bathroom but wasn't working when we called we were told by Angela at Hiller's that she was purchasing a replacement and it would be brought over which never happened. That bathroom was recently renovated which we suspect might be do to mold issues. The other bathrooms on the main floor have not been updated since the original owners lived there over 30 years ago and have poor plumbing, the pocket doors don't close properly and electrical outlets are shot. When we arrived the was no electricity to part of the house when we called Hiller's they said someone would be over to reset the breaker but after several hours we had to call again and were given the code to unlock the basement to reset the breakers ourselves which we did. The outlets are so old that electrical device cords will not stay in most of the outlets and we frequently end up overloading a fuse using only a few outlets that function properly.The kitchen stove burners do not all work and there isn't a functioning dial to set the temperature to use the oven.The sliding screen doors are in need of repair and do not close properly.This year we had a fairly heavy rain and the floor in one of the basement bedrooms was very damp. We have not been impressed with the management that Hiller's have provided since taking over the property 3 years ago.

Love the Deerpath at Elbert's!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our 1/13-1/20/2020 stay at the Deerpath was remarkable! We had two groups of 10 that each stayed part of the week. I stay the entire week and coordinate our activities. The 2019 enhancements were wonderful and we look forward to the 2020 improvements - two new bathrooms! All Hiller personnel are Awesome and I enjoy working with them. We have our 2021 reservations made for the Deerpath!

Things that needed fixed

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home itself was very accommodating. We had a good time even in our sadness. My husband had passed away the week b4. The bedroom close door was broken the water went from warm to cold to scalding hot in the two upstairs bathrooms. The oven had no temperature dial so you guessed at the temp. The water waste pump ran so loud you couldn’t sleep. It needs attention but other than these things we enjoyed our stay. The scalding water is dangerous especially for the 9 year old we had.

Carly did a great job providing new linens on 6 beds on 1/18 when we expected a new team. The water pressure in the BR's remains very low. The place was clean with nice new couches.
