About Russell Heath
I have traveled twice around the world: once with backpack, once in a small sailboat. Epic travels can't be done without aid--people, strangers all, have reached out and helped me, often unasked. I am eternally grateful to all those good folks. I am from Alaska and a few years ago decided I wanted more frenzy in my life, and, as I didn't want my frenzy diluted, I moved to New York City. I stayed five years and was not disappointed in its frenzy. Then, I'd had enough frenzy, evacuated the city and now live on the coast of Maine. Welcome.
Russell Heath purchased this Cabin in 1953
Why Russell Heath chose Steuben
My parents bought it after spending their honeymoon in Penobscot Bay in 1952. Deepwater coast, far from the madding crowd, wild enough to test one's mettle.
What makes this Cabin unique
The southern half of the pennisula is now a National Wildlife Refuge. Twelve miles of undeveloped coast to explore and 1200 acres of forest and fields. Over 200 species of birds, most of Maine's mammals, clams, mussels and lots of pools to explore. We have a canoe you are welcome to use. Great adventures within a couple of hours both east and west along the coast and inland up wild and free-running rivers.
