Taylor, I am so pleased you and the family enjoyed our Bayside retreat. My grandfather was a visionary for sure and had dreams of building his own town. He carved out this piece of paradise for the family and I am blessed to see people build lasting memories here. The beach and large circular pool are always fun for the children. Carol, I am so happy you and your family enjoyed your Christmas vacation at the Layton House. The Coastal Christmas Tree is a fairly new addition and popular with our guests. It is my pleasure and labor of love maintaining a five-star reputation for our waterfront property so that families and groups can enjoy the beautiful 2+ acres my grandparents, Del and Mary Layton, founded. With all the kayaking and enjoying the gorgeous weather, I hope you had time to read, Pioneer in the Florida Keys, my grandfather's book retelling the history of founding "his" City, and the early days in the Florida Keys. Thank you, Michael, for your response! I'm so glad you and your friends had such a good time at our beautiful historic property named after the Founder of the town, my grandfather, Del Layton. It was nice to hear you enjoyed the kayaks, fishing from the dock, swimming in the large heated pool and simply relaxing and playing games together. That's my idea of a vacation!!! The two downstairs bedrooms are on the smaller side as they are part of the original homestead. When my grandparents became more established with the Long Key Fishing Camp and the Del-Mar Fishing Charters, they added the huge open kitchen and dining area where groups love to come and hang out. The upstairs houses the ginormous master suite with two new spa-like baths and an enclosed porch for relaxing, napping or simply watching for the sea life to swim by. I hope you will come back to see us in the near future. I so enjoyed having you hear. The lasagna was delicious! Thanks for your thoughtfulness. Enjoy the new year and stay safe.
