About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bath, and kitchenette, walkable to restaurants and shops!

I call my home The Nest. This is a prime location near shops, restaurants, DU, Safeway, and light-rail. You have a separate entrance to a fully remodeled basement apartment including 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, work-space, laundry room and kitchenette.

You have your choice between Marriott pillows, My Pillow pillows, and some temper-pedic pillows. (I take my pillows seriously!) There are 14 restaurants of all ethnicities within 400 yards, and a Starbucks only 100 yards away. Welcome to The Nest!

The space

This is a 1950's home that was fully and lovingly renovated just a couple years ago. I live in the upstairs level, and the garden level is all yours with a separate entrance -- even a separate custom-lit walkway from the street.

While I want to be here to greet you as you arrive, if I'm unable to there is a keypad entrance for easy access. The check-in hours are from 3pm to 8pm, but if you are here outside those hours, just contact me and we'll make it happen.

Guest access

You have a separate, private entrance with solar operated lanterns that light up your path at night. I will not enter your space during your stay here unless there is an emergency or at your invitation.

2 x bedrooms (The first bedroom has a queen bed and dresser, the second bedroom has a queen bed, and in the living room there is even a futon which can turn into a full-size bed (with two super cozy mattress toppers!)

This price is for 2 people but it will fit up to 6! (But that is cozy, I gotta tell you! I do ask for $10 per person extra for each person over the initial 2. Just let me know how many people and I'll give you a custom quote.

The kitchenette has a sink, refrigerator, Keurig, microwave, nutri-bullet blender, toaster, crock-pot, hot-water jug, basic dishware, and basic condiments. The bathroom has a shower (no tub).

All of these rooms are yours and won't be shared with anyone else.

Interaction with guests

I am in my portion of the house, but am here for you if you want to chat, get advice on the hot spots, where to eat, shop, directions, etc. If you're up for a walk, I'm always up for a walk through the neighborhood -- just ask! Maybe we'll even end up at the Thai restaurant near by!

Other things to note

I do have three cats, and while they have no access to your apartment you may hear them scurrying about early in the morning. Then, of course, they sleep the rest of the day because, well, they're cats. Note about cat allergies: The cats have never been in your apartment suite but there is a rug and chair that they have previously lounged around on. Those have been washed, scrubbed, and vacuumed, but if you have serious allergies this might not be a good fit for you.

I do work from home too, so am in and out all day. You may hear me walking around. But I ain't dancin', so it shouldn't be that loud!

There is street parking, but you'll want to park on the east side. The west side you can park from 6pm to 8am and all day Sunday.

About Polly Letofsky

My name is Polly, and I spent years -- YEARS -- traveling around the world. While that was always a good time, I am thrilled to be settled into the quiet, but hip neighborhood of Cory Merrill in Denver.

My claim to fame is that I'm the first woman to walk around the world. That lead to the writing of a book about my walk, and that lead me straight into a new business in the publishing industry. So now I am running a bustling little publishing company. (The garage out in the back has been transformed into the My Word Publishing World Headquarters! You can almost always find me out there bringing new stories into the world)

Cory-Merrill is a HOT neighborhood, just having been voted the second Most Livable Neighborhood in Denver by 5280 Magazine. If you can walk 100 yards to a mile you've got yourself a wide variety of restaurants and shops from South Gaylord, DU, Wash Park, and Colorado Blvd.

You in the mood for Thai food? Boom, 2.5 blocks away.

Vietnamese food? Boom, 1 block away. Italian, pizza, Chinese, Asian, Mexican, and the good ol' Ihop all within 1-3 blocks. If you can walk a full mile it opens your options 10-fold!

Besides food, there are also a number of parks near by, the closest is 1.5 blocks away with basketball court and tennis courts for your use.

What makes this house unique

The Nest sits right between two light-rail stops: .6 miles to one (Colorado Station), 1.2 miles to the other (DU) -- which also has Denver's B-Cycle (Denver's bicycle-share program).

We also sit just 2 blocks from Colorado Blvd, and the entrance to I-25, which are the two main thoroughfares in Denver. We're 6 miles from both downtown and DTC, ($11 - $15 Uber ride) and 18 miles to the airport (Uber costs: $23 in low hours, $40 in rush hours)

Bus to downtown is 200 yards away.

The parking is street parking only, but there is plenty of it.

Bike trails that encompass the city are a 1/2 mile and 1 mile away in three different directions.

My Nest is a very clean, new, centrally located suite walkable to numerous restaurants, 100 yards to Safeway and Starbucks! This is a fabulous location for those coming for business, visiting friends in Denver, or just a fun getaway in Denver.

Adorable and comfortable

The Nest was perfect. It was super cute, clean, and perfect location for us. Polly left a sweet note along with a few treats for our arrival and made sure we had everything that we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was also very clean. When we decide to visit Denver again I hope we can stay at the nest.

Owner's Response: Alexandra and her boyfriend were perfect guests. Wish they could've stayed longer! They were super clean -- even started laundry for me before they left. I never expect guests to be quiet and "self-reliant", but they were -- which makes for a respectful and fabulous guest. Please come again!!

Perfect nest near downtown Denver

We extremely enjoyed our time at “The Nest”. Polly was very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Also she was quickly available if we needed anything and gave great recommendations for the area. The nest was very clean, cute, and comfortable. It was the perfect place for me and my 2 friends to stay for our conference at the convention center. It was an easy commute to downtown and other areas of Denver. It was walkable to restaurants and the grocery store. I would recommend the Nest to anyone!

Great little place - off the main drag but convenient to so much!

The lower-level apartment was so cool - funky décor, terrific beds and pillows - we chose the softer bed nearer the kitchen and had our FAVE MYPillow pillows - they really are the best. Could run right over to the grocery store to pop a few essentials in the fridge - and some wine from the liquor store - so convenient but you'd never suspect they were right there!

Wonderful place to stay!

The Nest was wonderful. It is clean, nicely decorated and just off two main roads making it convenient to get downtown. Even though it is in the basement, there was abundant sunlight and you didn't feel like you were in a basement. We had an issue when we first arrived but Polly took care of it immediately. We could not be happier with our stay.

Comfy nest.

Polly has anticipated all of your needs. The Nest is well stocked with all the comforts of home and then some. The beds were very comfortable, the apartment was quiet, the a/c handled the unexpected heat like a champ. Great location, charming host. We couldn’t have been more pleased.
