About the property

Welcome to Washington Park, one of Denver's most charming, oldest and most historic neighborhoods. You will be staying 7 blocks west of the park where you can enjoy many outdoor activities like jogging, walking, volleyball and biking. There are tennis courts, large flower gardens and a recreation center with an indoor pool. The park also has two lakes where you can rent paddle boats.

You are also located two miles from Denver's best shopping, Cherry Creek Mall, and high end stores. Downtown is only 3.5 miles away and the University of Denver is only 3 miles away from this neighborhood home. If you want to enjoy the neighborhood there are several great restaurants, bars and coffee shops that you can easily walk to.

Our home was built in 1893 and the apartment upstairs is newly furnished and is completely private. It has one bedroom with a queen and one with a full size mattress, a queen size pull out sofa and a full size pull out day bed in the living room. The kitchen has a mid-size refrigerator/freezer and is fully equipped with all of your kitchen needs. There is NO OVEN/STOVE; however there is a portable induction range that can be used for anything that would otherwise be cooked on a stove top. The proper pots and pans are provided. There is also a microwave, toaster oven and toaster available.

THERE IS NO STOVE (We do have an induction unit and plenty of pots, pans & skillets)

You will also be able to enjoy free cable and internet, 2 TV’s, 2 Apple TV's, air conditioning and 2 alarm clocks. If you are not renting a car for your visit the Lightrail station is only 8 blocks away. Denver also has rental bicycles called B-Cycles, Car2Go, Uber and Lyft for easy transportation.

The house if over 120 years old and yes the hardwood floors make some noise but that does not affect the downstairs whatsoever. There is one thermostat that we control downstairs that we have to control but since we have started using our upstairs as a vacation rental we have gotten really good at controlling the temperature to make it comfortable for 99% of our guests. There is also a portable AC unit in the back bedroom (the one that tends to get a little warmer in the summertime) for guests to use in addition to our central air conditioning.

About Corie

I (Jason) am a Colorado Native from Sedalia and have enjoyed living in Wash Park for 17 years. I own a bar about a mile away, Dive Inn. I absolutely love this neighborhood and all of the charm that it brings. I stay pretty busy with the businesses but love traveling when I am able and I enjoy spending time in the park playing a good game of volleyball with friends.

Why Corie chose Washington Park West

Wash Park is my absolute favorite neighborhood in Denver. Minutes from Downtown, minutes from shopping and restaurants in Cherry Creek, the vacation rental is located less than a mile from the interstate. It is great having all of those amenities so close, but even better is having such a beautiful park close by. This area feels like a small neighborhood town with all of the perks of a big city. There are also great coffee shops, restaurants and bars located within walking distance.

Transportation is extremely easy in this area. We have Car2Go, B-Cycles, Lyft, Uber.

So clean, decorated so nicely. Quiet street, nice deck attached to the bedroom, love this place!

The stay was awesome. We had more room than the pictures showed, and all of the furniture was really cute and extremely clean. The entire apartment smelled like clean laundry and the bathroom is huge! All TV’s had Apple TV’s attached and fans were provided (total selling point for us). We loved our stay - very close to downtown, 15 mins from Red Rocks, location perfect. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to stay again when we’re back in February!

Next time we’re back in Denver we will definitely look to rent this house again. Everything was fantastic ... even with the summer time storms and a brief outage of power I received an update from Corie immediately and everything was taken care of and followed up on promptly. Can’t wait to come back!

The owners have done a wonderful job of modernizing and decorating a very old home with character.

This unit was spacious, clean and nicely decorated to make guests feel comfortable and at home. Our visit was during a heatwave, so Corie was very attentive to our cooling needs. Between the AC unit in one bedroom, a small floor vent allowing cool air from downstairs to blow through in the other bedroom, and two fans, we stayed comfortable. We appreciated storage space in the bedrooms and the remodeled bathroom, which also has two sinks. It is a large bathroom. We enjoyed sitting in the living room with couches, an easy chair and coffee table, which also serves for meal-eating. The kitchen has a full fridge, microwave and a Keurig coffeemaker with coffee, creamer and sugar. A hot plate was available, but we were unsuccessful at getting it to work, so made due with the microwave for our breakfast preparation. The kitchen is not designed for “real cooking,” but suffices for cold meals or reheating leftovers. Be advised that at the time of our visit, there were no seasonings so BYO salt and pepper. We really liked the location, convenient to all the places we needed to go to, and enjoyed sitting on the front porch during a rainstorm. Corrie was lovely and helpful in advising us, as this was our first visit to Denver.

The difference between the 4-star rating and a 5-star is the matter of a few, quick-fix details that have been communicated to the owner, and hopefully will be implemented by the time you book this. This is a nice place with lots of character and attentive owners.

Perfect for a weekend away

I stayed here with my mom and step-daughter. The set-up worked perfectly for the 3 of us. We enjoyed having a little kitchen, but did run into a challenge blowing a fuse while running the microwave and toaster oven at the same time. Once we figured that out we had no problems. The unit was clean and in a very convenient part of town.

Perfect Spot!

We stayed over a very hot 4th of July week and despite that, we were very comfortable in this lovely unit! It is thoughtfully outfitted with everything you might need. There are plenty of cozy spots to curl up and enough of kitchenette to make a nice little breakfast before heading out for the day. The pack and play made this a perfect place to stay for us!
