It was a beautiful, quaint house. Comfortable accommodations, friendly hosts, and lovely yard for the dogs! I also felt safe in the area and house, which is a wonderful feeling in a new place. Would recommend to couples, solo females, and groups of female travelers!
The cabin was absolutely amazing. It felt like being at home. It was in a perfect location and it was super comfortable. I will be using this a lot when I come into Covington to fish. It was great.
This was a great place to stay: comfy, cozy, and so much to do around! We really enjoyed our time out there. Natalie and Sandy were amazing hosts and gave great recommendations!

I wish I could upload the pictures from inside this property. The house was disgustingly filthy, cobwebs, dead bugs, etc. It smelled musty and old. I went to open one of the blinds and because they were so old it broke. We cut our visit in half and only stayed one night because we could not stay on the property another day. I immediately contacted the property manager, Natalie, about the blind and sent pictures. The owner, Sandy, still charged me even after sending her pictures of the disgusting inside of the house and of the broken blind. I’m not sure how this property rate is 9.7. I’d rate it a zero if I could. It sits literally right off the street and then there’s another road behind it and you can hear vehicles on both inside the house. Stay away or prepare to have to clean, have earplugs and don’t touch the blinds.

Very nice place
We had a good time fishing. We also got to visit family near by. This is the second year we stayed , nice place
We would definitely come back again, we felt very much at home. The kitchen was fully equipped, the open plan gave the feeling of spaciousness and we were greeted with fresh flowers and delicious sourdough bread from the nearby bakery. The absence of near neighbors was a blessing in this time of pandemic.

We were in the area to go fly-fishing on the Jackson River. This cabin was conveniently located and very clean and comfortable. The porch area was a little noisy due to the nearby highways, but it was still very pleasant to sit there and look at the stars in the evening - and when it was time to sleep, the bedroom was quiet. The fresh flowers and peanut butter cookies were a really nice touch.
A cute little cabin in a good location for our needs. Many things to do all over the place from the cabin. There is road noise both from Interstate 64 and from Midland Trail on both sides of the property, but it wasn't bothersome. To sleep and in the evenings was the only time spent at the cabin, so much to see around the area. Overall, we had a very nice six night stay.

Cottage was very clean and tidy with everything I needed for my stay! Though there is road noise, don’t let it deter you from selecting this little house. I did not even notice the road noise at night. I will definitely stay here again!

Overall we had a great time exploring that part of the Alleghenies and Sandra and Natalie were great in their suggestions for other possibilities that we did not know about. It was a very nice cottage to stay in and very centrally located to all the activities and places we wanted to visit. They treated us to a loaf of homemade bread and fresh flowers on the table. The property was beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay in this sweet little house! Natalie is a perfect host and very helpful! We had everything we needed for our stay and we were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was! The fenced in yard was fabulous and our dogs loved being able to play and run while we enjoyed sitting on the porch. The fresh bread and flowers were a lovely surprise as well. I highly recommend this great little house and we hope to visit again soon!
Most excellent cabin as it was clean with nice amenities. Fenced yard was great with large deck. Location 100 yards away from Rt. 64 and 75 ft from Midland Trail did make for pretty continuous traffic noise. If that is not an issue/concern it is a nice place to stay.

When you walk in there were fresh flowers, a loaf of locally baked bread and a note asking for you to call when you get in. Felt like you were walking into a friends cabin that you had borrowed. Very welcoming and peaceful. My partner and I throughly enjoyed our stay and will return again!

Thank you Regina for booking the cottage...and writing a review. The Fall color is just beautiful now...,so please consider booking again when the Seasons are at their best... Sandy
Natalie, the property manager met us at the cabin to welcome us and left fresh flowers and bread from a local bakery. The smelled so nice and fresh upon entering and the AC felt great. The king size bed was so comfortable!! The cabin is located between 64 and another road, so you can hear cars but the backyard is private with no neighbors in view. Thank you for a great stay.

Came up for a few days for some recreational activities at Lake Moomaw. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It felt like home with all the amenities. The nearby creek and the fenced in back yard was a plus. The king size bed was absolutely WONDERFUL. The best nights of sleep I've had in years lol. The host was amazing! She gave us suggestions for food and attractions to visit. She told us to call anytime for anything. She was so very sweet and friendly. A jewel she is. Thank you for a much needed getaway in a relaxing cottage. We will be back.

About the host
Hosted by Sandra Bradley
I am a native Virginian, did my undergraduate work at JMU in Art Ed. in Harrisonburg, and received my Masters in Art Therapy at LMU, and have been living in LA for the last 30 years. This little cottage I built on a property that I purchased from My Mother's estate and was going to be my retreat when visiting back home. After my mother passed, I took over her original home and manage it now as a vacation rental and have added this cottage as a new listing. It is a sweet little get-a-way place in which to retreat, read or write or just catch up with time away from life's chaos. My family and friends love to use the cottage when they get a chance. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the location and the many surrounding points of interest that draw many to the area every year.
Why they chose this property
It's convenient to many points of interest in Alleghany and Greenbrier Counties. It is small and intimate and a perfect place for a single person alone or with their bestie or a couple alone or with 2 small kids. Pets are allowed.
What makes this property unique
It's an open concept cottage. Simple and easy access and plenty of parking. Sits on 4 acres of flat land for games. Has approximately one acre of fenced yard for the safety of your pets and children with a two-gate entrance and a trail to the creek is at the far end of the property. Horses and goats in adjoining fields. Has a nice porch where you face the creek and can sit to watch the sun go down. It's a much better solution for a couple of nights over a single hotel room in the nearest town for a similar price.
