Master bedroom with bath, 2nd bedroom with queen size bed, 3rd bedroom with bunk beds (also have toddler bed if needed). Living room has 3 sleeper sofa's which will sleep 6. The kitchen and living room have cathedral ceilings with skylights. The living room features a tv with satellite, stereo and dvd player. It has a wood burning fireplace and there are also games and movies for your convenience. The kitchen is full and completely functional with a large country table which seats 8 comfortably. Out the kitchen door, it opens up to a large screened in porch which overlooks the water. We love having our morning coffee there. The screened in area is large enough (has a large table) so you have the option to eat outdoors as well. There is also a cooler on the screened in porch for your use. Outside the screened in porch also has an open deck in which grilling is perfect. Under the house, there is a patio area in which you could eat, read, or relax in the hammock. There are corn hole boards and bags for a friendly game. Or take the canoes, kayak or tubes out for a float. Go fishing or swimming right on the property. At night enjoy the large firepit with a fire for smores or cook your meal of hot dogs on it. Please email owner for pet approval--50lbs or less plus we will need to know size and breed.

About David and Kimberly Bruce
We are the Bruce Family. David and Kimberly Bruce-the owners of Bruce's Bend. We have 3 children. David was raised just one mile from the property and is very familiar with and loves the area. I was born and raised in New jersey till 1999 when I moved to Virginia. We both love to hike and be outdoors. Our children also love to hike and do all the outdoor activities that we hope you get to enjoy when you visit. We look forward to meeting new people who share the same love of the area.
David and Kimberly Bruce purchased this House in 1999
Why David and Kimberly Bruce chose Eagle Rock
David grew up just a mile down the road from the property. He had visited this house and knew the prior owners and told them that if they ever wanted to sell to let him know. Fortunately for us, they decided to sell and contacted David about purchasing the house. We love the house and plan on retiring here. We have had to move for a job change at this point and thought why not let others enjoy our home while we cannot.
What makes this House unique
David was in love with the house from the first visit. The view from the couch gave the appearance that the creek flowed directly under the house. We absolutely love the screened in porch. We love sitting on the couch in the screened in porch and have our morning coffee. The house has many great points--firepit, creek view, big side yard, patio area, deck overlooking creek and much more. The screened in structure out front is the origional camp that still remains. It has a fireplace which is a good place to sit back and relax or hangout on a rainy day or evening.

Comfortable house with beautiful views
We enjoyed our stay at Bruce's Bend very much. There were plenty of blankets and pillows available and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the pots and pans needed for cooking meals. Thank you Kimberly and David!
Great Getaway with Kayaks Provided
This was the fourth stay at Bruce's Bend for my family of 8 adults. The inside is well maintained and very clean. Our favorite part of Bruce's Bend is that canoes, kayaks, and inner tubes are provided along with direct access to Craig's Creek. There is a convenient place to put in, and you can exit right at the house! You can even choose to put in at the house and paddle a little upstream to fish. My husband caught over 20 fish in 30 mins. (Nothing the next day!) Bring all your food to save time, and make sure everyone is capable of climbing a flight of exterior steps. Our thanks to the Bruces, The Nowell Family
Last Minute Get Away
We decided to squeeze in a mini vacation before sending our son back to Virginia Tech. We chose Bruce's Bend because it was about 1.5 hours to VT, was right on the river, had a fire pit for cooking campfire meals and kayaks and tubes were supplied. The location was very remote but that is exactly what we were looking for. We were able to relax, take it easy and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of normal life. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and it was so nice to have a supply of firewood ready and waiting. The outdoor lights added an extra touch of ambiance. The screened in porch was so welcoming and we enjoyed having our morning coffee there while listening to the sounds of the river. A serene and relaxing vacation was had by all!
One of the best properties I have stayed at-a great place to get away
The owners were great to deal with. The property is in a very quiet, scenic valley that time seems to have forgotten. The nearby roads are very sparsely traveled and neighbors are not nearby resulting in much privacy. Great riverfront view with wading/boating access to a scenic parcel of the creek across from an island. Most distinctive attribute is a wonderful second story screened in porch. First floor bedroom bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever been on. Kitchen is fully furnished with everything you can think of. Check in/check out, tv, internet instructions /were very organized and easy to find in the three ring binder. Plenty of outdoor activities like Hoop Hole trail, Roaring run trail and other local rivers also for kayaking and fishing-James, Cowpasture and Jackson. You are a little bit away from eateries and grocery stores in Clifton Forge, Covington and New Castle--circa half an hour-so plan accordingly. This adds to the charm of the location though.
Great place !!
Everything you need in a perfect spot on the creek!
The pictures can't show just how amazing this home and property is! We rented the cabin for a weekend fishing trip and were not disappointed. The home itself has every amenity we could have wanted and beyond. The homeowners, David and Kimberly, were attentive and thorough. We really appreciate all of the effort they put in and we would recommend this property to anyone.
The property is in the mountain/creek area. Craigs Creek runs across the property. It is perfect for a peaceful yet full family vacation You can swim, fish, canoe, kayak, tube, cook out, campfire, bike, run, or simply relax and read a book. In the area, you can hike, bike, shop, go to the Zoo, antiquing, bird watching, winery tours or scenic drives
