Welcome to "Cortile San Remo!"
Located in the "Heart" of downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea, Our 2 Bed 2 Bath flat, that sleeps up to 6 people, is in such an amazing location, central to downtown Carmel. Offering a French feeling from the exposed beams to the citron-colored appliances, and fully stocked kitchen. The space is quaint and cozy, perfect for a beach-town getaway.

This recently remodeled apartment has a kitchen offering high-end retro Big Chill appliances including a dishwasher, gas range, and refrigerator and microwave. Cabinets are fully stocked for all of your cooking needs.

The living room, which also functions as a small dining room, has a Smart TV and a couch that doubles as a king-size pull-out bed. The primary bedroom has east-facing windows with plenty of natural lighting, a beautiful large bathroom with radiant floor heating, a walk-in shower, and a stackable washer/dryer.
The second bedroom is spacious, with a second SmartTV, a couch, and a small bathroom featuring a handmade sink vanity, beautiful tiled shower, and natural stone flooring.

The entire apartment offers a French countryside cottage feeling with its exposed beams, high vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans, and white French oak flooring.

The apartment has a split system A/C-heat unit in each room.

A great spot in a quiet courtyard but steps from all the action. The apartment was even more spacious than we expected and easily accommodated the five of us (3 adults one 14 year old.) The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/bowls/cooking utensils and even had extras like spices/salt/pepper. Having a balcony off the side gave us extra seating for dinner/relaxing. The beach was about 6 minutes away by foot (and you could see glimpses of the water from the balcony.) The hosts were lovely - available without hovering. If you’re looking for the perfect little getaway in Carmel - this is it!

This worked perfect for our group of 4 adults. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities. Decor was cute and modern. The location was great - walking distance to so many shops, restaurants, and wine tasting rooms and a short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect spot in Carmel

This place has become our favorite place to stay in Carmel. It’s spacious, well-appointed, and in a perfect location. Full size washer and dryer meant we could pack light. Kitchen allowed us to have a few meals in the with kids, and to stock up on beach and hiking food. The best part was being in the middle of downtown. The hosts were great. We will definitely book this property again!

Very Well-Appointed Apartment in Central Carmel

Although the property was being renovated, it was a very pleasant stay. Great, new retro appliances and very strong hot shower. One small disappointment: there's not a lot of natural light in this apartment, but it wasn't a problem for us because we were mostly outside in the spectacular Carmel natural setting.

Magical Place To Stay

This was my first time staying at a Vrbo and our experience was incredible! Gretchen and Greg our Hosts were so helpful and informative. They made us feel so welcome and would even check in with us to make sure everything was going well. Their house was so clean, well stocked with everything you will need. The location is perfect and you can walk everywhere! Such a idyllic retreat in Carmel By The Sea! I can't wait too go back! Thank You Gretchen and Greg for making our vacation a memorable one!

Much needed girls getaway!

From the moment we drove down Ocean Avenue the experience began! Our apartment was just as charming as described on the VRBO site with every amenity we needed for the five day stay. The beds are so comfy, the bathroom floor so warm and everything was shiny clean. Our host, Greg, was just a text away and it felt like home. A couple of walks to and from the beach each day took care of the extra calories we picked up at the Carmel Bakery!

ONE OF THE BEST!

Everything that was advertised about this unit was accurate, and still they did not share all the fabulous things about this unit. The instructions were clear and concise; the unit was as pictured, the amenities were the best stocked that we have ever seen in a VRBO unit and with extras if what was provided was not enough. The bedding and bed were incredible....if I could have staying in bed the entire day, I would have - but Carmel was calling! The location within Carmel was perfect. Walking distance to all and everything. What a all-around fabulous experience.....thank you to the Hosts for making this one of our most enjoyable holidays!

A perfect walkable location

Stayed for several days in Carmel, and were very pleased with the choice of this property. In particular, the location was ideal. It is in the center of the cute downtown area, so walkability was fabulous for meals, shopping and just enjoying Carmel. It is not a big place, but it is very charming, and opening the top portion of the 'Dutch door' in the morning for the coastal breeze was a delight. In full disclosure, there are a few quirks to note. There is no parking with the property, so a bit of hunting is required to find a spot for the car at night. Also, at the time of writing it was on the tail end of some construction, so there were a few rough edges. But overall neither of these detracted from the experience, and we would stay there again.

Really nice place right in the middle of downtown Carmel shopping. I was worried that it would be noisy with all the downtown stuff around us but once you shut the door you hear nothing. We really enjoyed our time there.

Incredible Value, Amazing Stay!

We had such an incredible time in Carmel & this apartment was the perfect location! It had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay for my family, including my one year old twin boys. The kitchen was completely stocked with absolutely everything. The patio was perfect for enjoying meals & the bathrooms were so nice - we loved the heated tiles! it is located directly in the middle of town so you are just a step away from cute boutiques & restaurants. It's just a short walk from the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous! And the Thursday morning Farmers' Market was so fun! We had an absolute blast & cannot wait to visit again!

Love love love this place! This was a true gem. It was amazing, clean, well equipped, comfortable and convenient location. Love the retro (but new) appliances. King size beds in both rooms with nice bathrooms in each. Love the patio and half doors for extra air. We were in town to do the Big Sur marathon - it was a perfect location (easy walk to get the shuttle bus to the start). So many good restaurants nearby. Love walking to all the shops and of course walking distance to the beach with amazing views of Pebble Beach golf course. Street parking was a non-issue for us. Suggest using Cultura restaurant for the GPS to find the place. (and visit the restaurant - the owner was amazing!) Thank you for a perfect place to stay - would love to come back and stay here again!

Lovely place

It is a great property in a great location. Owner was very responsive. Kitchen had everything we needed. There are a couple minor things, the shower in one bathroom was missing its handle, and the cold dial could not get very cold so the shower was almost too hot. There is a bunch of wiring from the walls, maybe an unfinished project? And the last petty thing was that there was only one roll of toilet paper, no Kleenex, and no dish soap to hand wash dishes. I really like when a nice property like this has shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, dish soap, Kleenex and plenty of toilet paper especially when staying for a week over a holiday. Also with the proximity to the beach, it would be nice to have a couple chairs or a bucket and shovel. We purchased an inexpensive boogie board, shovel and pail for the beach since we had fantastic weather and left them there. If you get a rental car, the unlimited parking was very close.

Along with our Carmel rental, we have a rental in Boulder, CO. We chose these two locations because of the beautiful settings. We love the beach and the mountains, and we love renovating buildings professionally. We spend a lot of time with our family at the Carmel property, as it is such an amazing location, and perfect beach town getaway.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property due to its excellent location. We love the town of Carmel. Restaurants and shopping and the beach are all very easily accessible from the apartment. We purchased the building because we saw high potential. We also love how close the rental is to Pebble Beach Golf Course. We've had so much fun walking on the beach over to the golf course, and even sometimes seeing pro golfers.
