Wonderful! We never wanted to leave!

  • 5 of 5

This is a special place. We loved the charm of this 100 year old adobe house with incredible views. The kitchen was incredibly equipped; I cooked Thanksgiving dinner and had everything I could possibly need at my disposal. The drive up is gorgeous, and even though you are only a few miles away from downtown Carmel and an incredibly convenient Safeway, it's as if you are magically transported away from it all to the idyllic peace and quiet in the mountains in a few short minutes. Point Lobos is beautiful and the view from the house includes the Carmel beaches, Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay and the Monterey Peninsula. Every morning I watched the colors of the sunrise against this magical view. Pamela was an excellent host and available for any questions we had. We had several dinner reservations, but cancelled a few of them simply because the kitchen was wonderful to cook in and we never wanted to leave the house. There were plenty of extra linens, pillows, towels, wine glasses, etc. We will definitely be returning to this magical place. We cherished every moment of our stay in this well appointed home. The perfect balance of a peaceful get away mixed with easy access to the charm of downtown Carmel and the breathtaking golf courses of Pebble Beach.

Owner's Response: Wow Holly. Thank you for capturing your experience in this review. My family and I grew up in the Adobe home. We are currently living on an island in the Florida Keys. We will however always consider the Adobe has our home. We are looking forward to your return visit. Kind regards, Lou & Kristin

Perfect week in a charming adobe overlooking Carmel

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our charming adobe house overlooking Carmel, even on the one drizzly day we had the shadows and lighting were exceptionally exquisite! We were two couples and three young adults and I was alittle worried about the one bathroom, but it was a beautiful bathroom with a tub and a shower and two sinks and it was never an issue. The white brick fireplace had some fires, the kitchen is perfect, lots of places to sit and take in the views. One day we walked down the 2 mile driveway and across rt 1 into Point Lobos reserve. After exploring there we got an uber into Carmel and then an uber home in the afternoon. We were always excited to return to our adobe house on top of the hill. It was PERFECT!!!!

Great private home with view

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic view to the north across Carmel and Monterey peninsula. Access road is paved and easy to navigate, not scary though steep in places. Excellent directions.

Comfortable home, well equipped kitchen. Gas grill. Good base for trips to Monterey and Big Sur. Access road is directly across PCH from Point Lobos.

Would stay again and would recommend to friends and family

A new favorite - perfect Carmel/Cali Coast home!

  • 5 of 5

We truly loved our stay at the Adobe home. We stayed with our two kids, 6 & 9. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us. The drive up to the house is lovely, but steep. It is really easy to get to the Safeway/Barnyard area, as well as Point Lobos. It is on the south side of Carmel, so it was also great for drives down the Big Sur coast. Pamela was wonderful, helped us check-in and provided some restaurant recommendations.

The views were really amazing. We could see all the way to Santa Cruz on 3/4 of our days. Watching the weather come in, and the light change over Carmel throughout the day was very special. The outdoor space is also well done and comfortable.

Both bedrooms were comfortable, with good storage and light. One has a larger bed, but the smaller bed was plenty big enough for my kids to share. There was an air mattress as well, but we didn't use it. The bathroom is gorgeous, and we loved the heated toilet seat. Both my husband and I agreed that the bed was as comfortable for us as ours at home (this is rare!). We also did a few loads of laundry and everything we needed was available. They had extra towels, toiletries, paper goods, and beach towels for us to use. The house also provided some fun games and books, which my kids loved.

The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. We ended up cooking most meals at the house, as the views and kitchen were amazing. The grill on the patio is also easy to use, and we used that for steaks and fish during our stay. The fireplace is beautiful and was easy to get a roaring fire going, which was nice because it was chilly in the evenings. We would have loved a fire pit, but I understand why that isn't available!

We love Carmel and Big Sur, and I'm sure that this is where we will return on our next visit! So glad to have found this house. My 6yro declared that she would buy this house, whenever the owners were ready to part with it!

Look no further, this is THE place in Carmel

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a place in Carmel, you have found it. The house is very clean and updated. The wood burning fireplace was an unexpected extra. Pamala was super nice and helpful upon our arrival. This home has the best views of the ocean in Carmel. Having your coffee while looking out over the ocean was the best possible start to the day. We will stay here again 😊?.
