Trabucco Trails is conveniently located near Yosemite in California's Gold Country, on a historic parcel near the Mariposa County community of Bear Valley, on a quiet, rural stretch of Highway 49.
During the Gold Rush days, the parcel was once cultivated as a vegetable garden, while Forty-Niners discovered gold in the area. The historic rock walls on property mark the perimeter where the garden once grew.
The joy of discovery continues here today. Now you can discover the vast riches our universe has to offer. Trabucco Trails, located on 17 privately owned acres, provides you with a grand opportunity to stargaze using high-end, easy-to-use instruments. A robotic GO-TO telescope is provided during your stay, and is included in the rental cost. This open, rural stretch of Highway 49, which is considered 'above the fog and below the snow', provides you with many clear night opportunities, even in winter
The Trabucco Trails House, newly constructed in 2018, is well appointed and available year round. Mariposa, the county seat, which is 10 miles south, has many essential services, along with many wonderful dining, shopping, and historic sight-seeing experiences. Yosemite National Park's West entrance is located about 45 minutes away up Highway 140 from Mariposa.
We provide housekeeping service (not daily maid service), before and after your stay. Courtesy towels, paper products, coffee, tea, cocoa and guest soap are provided to welcome you on the day you arrive. Personal key code access provides you with convenience and security. We also provide a fold-away sofa bed in the living room.
Because of the rural nature of the area, there is abundant opportunity for wildlife sightings, such as deer, wild turkey, coyote, bobcat, birds of prey, and perhaps an occasional bear. Seasonal creeks at the North and South ends of the property flow during winter and spring. And, of course, there are plenty of trails here at Trabucco Trails here on our 17 privately owned acres for your outdoor experience pleasure. Make sure to leave some time in your schedule during your stay for stargazing too.
Using the telescope, beautiful views of the Orion Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, Hercules Cluster, and many other deep sky objects are yours to behold. The telescopes offer a TOUR mode, which takes you to the best and brightest objects in the sky during your stay. Stargazing doesn't get any easier than this.
From hiking trails to star trails, you will enjoy a memorable Yosemite experience when you stay at Trabucco Trails.

Amazing home for a getaway or retreat! Mike was really quick to reply to all of our messages and the house was well equipped with all the utensils to cook everything we wanted. Highly recommend!
Our stay was great. The cabin was very clean and had extra supplies in the kitchen and the bathroom. To-do list was very manageable and easy. Host was available and communicative.
Great place with a beautiful view during the day and at night. Good amount of space in cabin and located near Yosemite as well as several services. Great communication and a great price for stay.
Absolutely beautiful property that was extremely clean and well-maintained! Kudos to the property manager for placing such an emphasis on a clean and friendly environment! Would highly recommend to anyone!
Had a great stay at Trabucco Trails. Didn’t get to use the telescope due to fog every evening, but loved the option. Perfect quiet spot to spend a week away from the world.
Wow, what an excellent place! So quiet. Occasional car passing overnight, but very peaceful and a reasonable distance to Yosemite. Place was extremely clean (I think the cleanest bnb I’ve ever been), no weird smells or anything. Well laid out space too. Mike was very responsive and helpful. Very private and absolutely want to stay again!
Awesome cabin, bigger in person for sure. A great place to stay out of the hustle and bustle of town even though you’re only 10mins out. Super clean and has everything you need! Michael is an awesome host and runs a great property!
We stayed for 2 nights and it was a great space for our family. Loved having laundry and a full kitchen. Would recommend and would certainly stay again if we were back in the area.
Great place in a great location. Place was very quiet and near Yosemite and other places of interest. Owner was very courteous and communicated great with us. Would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful time here. The property is private, quiet, convenient, laid back, clean, and roomy. Mike was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed stargazing at night and slept well. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
